Interaction with Guests
We are happy to help with tourist information, tips on local travel and transport, good restaurants, and Mexican culture.
We are located in a conventional safe neighborhood only three blocks from the city center. The people are very friendly and hardworking. There are several small family type restaurants with excellent food. There is some graffiti just like in New York, London, Paris etc.
Public transportation is just outside our door, taxis or local mini buses which pass every minute or two. The prices are very reasonable. Many places like the zocalo and main city market are less than 10 minutes walking distance.
Exploring Cuernavaca is easy--you are a short walk or taxi ride from the Central Market, historical Zocalo, Cortéz Palace, Cathedral and Borda Gardens, as well as many fine restaurants. If you would like to explore the surrounding attractions, the central bus station is minutes away, or we can help you arrange for a private bilingual guide and chauffer service.
Other Things to Note
One of our suites has a kitchenette; for the others small refrigerators and microwaves are available. Nice little carry out cafes are nearby as well as 2 bakeries and a nice fruit stand.
* Monthly pricing does not include breakfast. When available you can request the Diego Rivera Suite which has a small kitchenette.
Our guests are always well mannered an use good judgement. When we get to know them we wish they were our neighbors forever.
Bill was a wonderful host - great hospitality and a delicious breakfasts. He was charming and funny and very knowledgable about Cuernavaca and the surrounding area. His tropical oasis was a real gem that we hope to visit again.
My family and I had such a fantastic stay at Bill's place! Comfy room, delicious breakfast and a very gracious host! The place is just beautiful and felt like home. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Bill was an amazing host offering the best advice on what to do in Cuernavaca, preparing delicious breakfasts. The house is certainly a tropical paradise with Mexican artifacts and plants in every nook and cranny! Wonderful space for a group. Private and shared space create a wonderful environment.
My wife, daughter, and I spent four nights at Bill's charming home in Cuernavaca. Bill was very helpful in providing arrival instructions, having someone to greet us, and in making suggestions for what to do once we were there. His home and the rooms are beautifully decorated with his extensive collection of Mexican crafts and native plants. The house is about a 15-minute walk from the zocalo, but some visitors may prefer to take a cab, due to the heavy traffic and steep hills. The house is near a busy street, but traffic noise was not a problem since the rooms face an inner courtyard. And finally, Bill serves a mean breakfast, having once been a cooking instructor. Overall, a great experience.
Staying at Bill's incredible home was the highlight of our weekend trip to Cuernavaca. Not only is the house itself a marvel, with many unique touches such as the rooftop orchid garden and the comfortable and spotless rooms, but Bill is a phenomenal host. We immediately felt at home, as Bill is a wealth of information about Mexico in general and Cuernavaca in particular. Also, he helped us plan a day trip to Taxco and had great tips about the best way to make the most of the trip. Still, chatting with him over the delightful breakfasts that he made was a great way to start each day. I hope that we will have the opportunity to come back to Cuernavaca, if only to say hi to Bill and enjoy his hospitality again!
Bill Cummins was an amazing host. He was very warm, welcoming and accommodating. We felt like we were visiting a favourite relative! Bill also prepares a wonderful breakfast. It was great to sit back with a cup of coffee in the patio, listen to the birds sing and enjoy his tranquil space.
Bill, our host, was very gracious and friendly. Since he has lived in Cuernavaca for decades, and since his first language is English, we were able to have interesting conversations about Mexican culture. He also provided great tips of things to do both before and during our stay. He is a wealth of information. This B&B is a very pretty Mexican home, designed and built by Bill, nicely decorated and filled with potted plants - a gardener's paradise! The rooftop terrace has a nice view, and a comfortable sofa for watching the sunset. We chose to stay in the room with the balcony overlooking the front street, so we could watch the goings on down below. The room was a good size, with a comfortable, king-size bed and nice linens, a mini-fridge, DVD player, and safe. Bill cooks a delicious homemade, hot breakfast - the best we had traveling around Mexico! Each morning, breakfast was different, including a Mexican specialty, meat, eggs, fruit plate and good coffee. The zocolo is a 10-15 minute walk away, and is filled day and night with entertaining activities. I highly recommend Bill, and Your Host Inn during your stay in Cuernavca.
After spending over 2 decades of summer visits to Cuernavaca, Bill retired to this unique home that he designed and built. He now invites you to this bed and breakfast to experience some of the Mexican charm, cuisine and culture he has come to love.
As a cooking instructor and epicure he is uniquely qualified to prepare gourmet meals. Private cooking classes can be arranged during your stay.
Whether exploring on your own, simply relaxing on the patio, enjoying your suite, visiting historical sites, shopping in the local craft markets, or fine dining - Bill anticipates your needs and wishes.
