Interaction with Guests
We are happy to help with tourist information, tips on local travel and transport, good restaurants, and Mexican culture.
We are located in a conventional safe neighborhood only three blocks from the city center. The people are very friendly and hardworking. There are several small family type restaurants with excellent food. There is some graffiti just like in New York, London, Paris etc.
Public transportation is just outside our door, taxis or local mini buses which pass every minute or two. The prices are very reasonable. Many places like the zocalo and main city market are less than 10 minutes walking distance.
Exploring Cuernavaca is easy--you are a short walk or taxi ride from the Central Market, historical Zocalo, Cortéz Palace, Cathedral and Borda Gardens, as well as many fine restaurants. If you would like to explore the surrounding attractions, the central bus station is minutes away, or we can help you arrange for a private bilingual guide and chauffer service.
Other Things to Note
One of our suites has a kitchenette; for the others small refrigerators and microwaves are available. Nice little carry out cafes are nearby as well as 2 bakeries and a nice fruit stand.
* Monthly pricing does not include breakfast. When available you can request the Diego Rivera Suite which has a small kitchenette.
Our guests are always well mannered an use good judgement. When we get to know them we wish they were our neighbors forever.
It was a fantastic and comfortable stay, with the host, Bill, making my family and I feel very welcomed. This progressively-built family summer house, built by Bill throughout the 1980s, which then turned into his home and which he now shares with others as he's shaped it into a B&B.
Bill personally cooked and served our breakfast, in lovely table settings, which were accompanied with homemade bread he baked and fruit jams he prepared. His generosity imbues the various areas of this home -- its indoor patio, the bedrooms, a wonderful open-air living room, the fun kitchen and breakfast room -- with good energy.
Staying at Bill's was amazing. The place is really well located, you can take a 5 minute walk to Cuernavaca's center, tourist around, and return to Bill's to catch your breath and cool down, then repeat the process all over again.
Bill is an excelent host, and has a very high level of service, he was very kind and very helpfull with every thing we needed. Breakfast was delicious, and hand made bread provided by Bill was a very nice touch.
The whole house is perfectly decorated, attention to detail is magnificent, every room in the house is dedicated to a different mexican artist and decorated according to the artist's taste's and art.
We will definitely come back to Bill's every time we stay in Cuernavaca, the stay is perfect for resting, discovering the city, and enjoying of Bill's great taste for mexican art & culture.
Bill was a wonderful host - great hospitality and a delicious breakfasts. He was charming and funny and very knowledgable about Cuernavaca and the surrounding area. His tropical oasis was a real gem that we hope to visit again.
My family and I had such a fantastic stay at Bill's place! Comfy room, delicious breakfast and a very gracious host! The place is just beautiful and felt like home. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Bill was an amazing host offering the best advice on what to do in Cuernavaca, preparing delicious breakfasts. The house is certainly a tropical paradise with Mexican artifacts and plants in every nook and cranny! Wonderful space for a group. Private and shared space create a wonderful environment.
My wife, daughter, and I spent four nights at Bill's charming home in Cuernavaca. Bill was very helpful in providing arrival instructions, having someone to greet us, and in making suggestions for what to do once we were there. His home and the rooms are beautifully decorated with his extensive collection of Mexican crafts and native plants. The house is about a 15-minute walk from the zocalo, but some visitors may prefer to take a cab, due to the heavy traffic and steep hills. The house is near a busy street, but traffic noise was not a problem since the rooms face an inner courtyard. And finally, Bill serves a mean breakfast, having once been a cooking instructor. Overall, a great experience.
