About this listing
Home from home in the heart of London
A generous one bedroom top floor flat in an attractive Victorian building near Belsize Village, Belsize Park
The flat is on the top floor of a five storey walk up. It has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom ( with bath), large bedroom ( with king sized bed), and living and dining areas leading to a roof terrace and private access to the roof with views to the south over London.
Belsize Park is a beautiful part of London and highly sought after. It's nestled between two large parks, Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill which both provide wonderful opportunities to lull away the evening sun. Brimming with numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs there's no end to local amenities. It is also in zone two meaning you're only ever 20 mins away from the likes of Bond Street or Kings Cross.
Surrounding areas to explore include Camden Market, Primrose Hill, Regents Park, London Zoo, the canal & Hampstead.
It's a short walk to several tube and overground stations, Belsize Park (Northern Line), Swiss Cottage (Jubillee) and Finchley Road (Metropolitan and Jubillee). It is also a ten min walk to the coach drop off at Finchley road which connects directly to Luton and Stanstead Airports. London Overground at Hampstead Heath is also a convenient link to explore East London and is just a ten min walk away.
It being a flat within a shared building I must ask guests to respect the neighbours below by not making noise past 1030.
I did not meet the host, but she was very responsive and left detailed instructions about the flat. The photos are accurate: The flat is very nice and airy and also has a modern bathroom. I did get a bit warm in the bedroom as my stay was during the summer, but as long as you can sleep with the windows open, you will be fine.
The view from the roof terrace was amazing. The apartment is really big and fully equipped, 5 mins to underground station. Really convenient transportation. Lots of restaurant around and close to Camden area.
Sarah's flat was easy to access, if you don't mind a few stairs, and beautifully appointed. The location is just great. Overall it was prefect for our stay, an easy walk to three different tube lines, as well as buses in and out of Soho and Mayfair. The local shops are excellent.
As with many of the other reviews posted about Sarah's flat, everything was amazing. The flat itself is clean, neat, and has one of the most beautiful views I've seen. There were a small number of breakfast foods like hot cross buns and crumpets in case we wanted to eat in; or right down the street is a wonderful cafe called Belsize Kitchen which had incredible food as well.
The flat itself was very easy to get to, Sarah's instructions were simple and easy to follow. The tube station is only about a 5-10 minute walk from the flat, and the town has a many accommodating stores (like a pharmacy and late night "general" store).
The flat feels warm and cozy and it really felt like we were staying in a lovely friend's home rather than any kind of hotel room. This really makes all the difference when you come back from a day of sight seeing and you just need to put your feet up. Having the addition of a range and washer was also incredibly helpful.
Finally there was nothing quite like going up to the roof and relaxing while looking out at the wonderful skyline at night. Although it can be a bit windy, it was well worth it. If my wife and I decide to take another trip to London we will definitely be checking to see if Sarah's flat is available first.
One of the best airbnb experiences we have had! Great location close to Hamstead Heath and a short tube trip into central London; plenty to keep you entertained and fed in the local village however. The apartment itself is a wonderful space; light, with fantastic views from the balcony and the roof terrace. We hope to return!
Sarah's place is really nice, a quiet apartment and just as described, a truly unique place due to the location with amazing views over the city.
Everything I needed was in the neighbourhood, a great place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
We had a fantastic time at the apartment which is situated right in the heart of Belsize village on a delightful and quiet street. It served our purposes perfectly and gave us an ideal base for the weekend. All communications and instructions from Sarah were spot on with no hassle or drama, even though we did not actually meet. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here in future.
About the Host, Sarah
I'm from London and love the bustle of the big cities, most especially being in a place with such a vibrant arts scene and an ever changing landscape.
I also enjoy being outdoors and finding time to relax which is why Belsize Park is so great. Between two parks, three if you count Regents park it's a beautiful part of the world whilst still being in the thick of it.
My style as a host is to provide you with everything you will need to have a happy time in London and to help you if you need any advice.
You're only every 30 seconds away from a restaurant, bar or coffee shop and even if you don't see the tourist sites, you'll get a great taste for London life just staying on my road.
