Agnes and Victor are very nice and welcoming, but it's one of the more "lived in" AirBNBs I've stayed in. There were construction items outside the front door, bags of trash in the hallways, and not too clean of a shower, for example. The wifi does not work very well and the stov…

Response from Agnes:
Dear Rachel, thank you for your feedback. You did arrive at an unusual moment. We had a guest previously who got sort of merry, jumped into the shower tray and made a hole in it. The ceiling of the apartment underneath started getting soaked as well. Our listing is popular because of the low price so I barely had any open days to get the leak fixed. It was under construction when you arrived, so this is the reason you saw construction items in the hallways. Yes, you were invited to be part of the family. In case you have a requirement of personal items and of other people not being present, you might like to choose the kind of airbnbs that have specifically been made for renting. These are basically sterile and uniform and cater to the guests who want a sort of hotel room. You can find a lot of them in Budapest, though often not at this price. The trend had wrecked our real-estate market as it had done in many other cities as well, supporting the 1% here. I am not that. I am a single mom, supporting two kids studying, and every stay is a support for these two young men to be able to have an education. Yes, it happens here, that resources are scarce. Yes, you as a young "Westerner" might have never experienced that kind of challenge in your life, and I wish you never will, but here it is very real. Also, I do still uphold the old values of airbnb from where it evolved, where hosting is welcoming people in person, we often go for a session to the spa, we have coffee and a chat together, and get to know each other's culture better. For some people these hold greater value than design furniture and flat screen TVs, etc., and they choose us specifically for this. Some true, deep friendships have developed this way. Anyway, the construction work is over, I am looking into your wifi issues. I am here with an open mind and an open heart, doing my best, welcoming everyone who really wants to get to know the city and to connect with people living here. Love and light, Ágnes

Agnes is a great Airbnb host: she was communicative, willing to point out interesting places, and made sure all the amenities specified in the airbnb description were provided. My only qualm was the shower; it was tough to figure out where to set the handle to get the right tempe…

Agnes is a great host! While I never met her, she was excellent with communicating how to get into her apartment. The space is very central, but the room is tucked away so that there was no noise from the main road. Highly recommended for a solo traveler.

Agnes is very nice, and the location is great, really close to a metro stop and a few cozy Café/bar places. A short walk away is the Hungarian National museum. The room is quite small, but is fine for one person. One problem was that the wifi just barely reaches the room, making …

Response from Agnes:
Dear Tom, happy to have had you here. Regarding the wifi. I am sorry you did not mention the problem during your stay. Wifi is high speed. People usually have no problem with reception in the room. We have even had IT people staying for longer time, working from here without a problem. If there is a difficulty, an amplifier can be switched on. I do not leave it on constantly if there is no problem with reception as I try to avoid electro-smog overload for an eco-friendly atmosphere. What I suggest is always contacting the host if there is any problem. As you have experienced, you can surely trust me to be there to help solve any difficulty that may arise. Best, Ágnes
