The space
Our cabin is hidden in a serene location. If you like a little adventure, you'll love the treasure hunt of finding our off-grid cabin in the woods, yet just 15 minutes from Courthouse Square.

80 years ago a placer mining operation worked the creek alongside this beautiful cabin. This modest mine was small in size and surrounded by 1.25 millions beautiful acres of Prescott National Forest and its majestic ponderosa pines. Shortly after the miners left, our cabin “The Gold Digger” was built. This home is now one of only a few, deep in the forest, close the Lynx Lake, and surrounded by 1.25 million acres of protected Prescott National Forest. A dream for visitors who love privacy and remoteness without giving up the comforts and convenience of a short drive to Arizonian’s favorite small town, Prescott.

WILDLIFE
Gold Digger is in the forest amongst the trees and Mother Nature! The remote location promises to deliver bird sightings, like bald eagles, among other creatures such as coyotes, javelina, insects and other wildlife.

LAKE ACCESS + DISTANCE
Lynx Lake is accessible by foot from the cabin walking back down the 1.5 mile dirt road. The cabin is not on the lake.

*SEASONAL* CREEK
The nearby creek is seasonal. Sometimes it is bone dry and sometimes it is quite active, dependent on recent weather.

PANNING FOR GOLD
You can pan for gold in the seasonal creek! Either way, you can dry pan for gold if water is not present. Contrary to popular thinking, panning for gold can be and is done in dry creek beds. So, whether it's running or not, fun can be had.

FIREPIT + FIREPLACE
Firewood is onsite and provided for you. Please follow Yavapai County's daily fire restriction rules (fire pit) should they apply during your stay.

I'm a home renovator who loves traveling! It's hard to do both at the same time, but I found hosting fellow travelers was as close as you can get to merging the two. From all of our travels, I've learned what makes a home a comfortable retreat after a long day of exploration and love offering that to my guests. I can't get enough of coffee shops, hiking and beautiful landscapes. I've traveled South America top to bottom, to Southeast Asia and parts of Europe and Central America, stopping at every coffee shop I can. My favorite scenario is reading a good book on a trip with a coffee in hand.
