Lovely, beach cottage with room for four. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy a wonderful coastal vacation on one of the nicest stretches of beach around. It has an updated, beachy decor with a fully stocked kitchen and table for four. It has a queen bedroom, a large bathroom, and a full-sized futon in the living area. It has a new flat-screen TV, comfy living room seating, and a beautiful propane fireplace for those cold evenings. There is also a nice DVD collection, radio with IPOD dock, and lots of games, books, and even a basket full of children's toys. Enjoy the absence of wifi or cell phone reception, both which can be accessed down on the beach, or in town.
The cottage is located in a small community called Tierra Del Mar, which is located just 3 miles north of Pacific City. Tierra Del Mar is a very quiet spot, and does not have cell phone reception or cable. It is less than a half a block to a gorgeous sandy beach where you can have a bonfire, collect shells, and take your dog for a long walk. The house has a lovely deck with seating and a charcoal BBQ, so bring some charcoal and enjoy! From the beach, you will see Cape Kiwanda to your left and Cape Lookout to your right.
Just a few miles south is Pacific City which is home of the Dory Fishing Boats, the Pelican Pub & Brewery, and some of the best surf along the Oregon Coast. There are several great restaurants, a public swimming pool, art galleries and shops, horseback riding, and the beautiful Nestucca River that runs right through town. It's a little piece of paradise!
Ashley's cozy beach cottage is amazing! A very short walk from the front door and you are at the beach! A very calm, quiet and gorgeous beach. I needed to get out of Portland for a couple of days and this is exactly what I had in mind! I got to watch a beautiful sunset while drinking a delicious beer at a brewery just five minutes away. I will definitely be back!
We had a great stay at Ashley's cottage. It was a super stormy weekend, so we didn't really get to enjoy the outdoors too much. I did take our pups out to the beach and it was great that if you walked north there was basically no one and no houses. She has a great selection of DVD's, perfect for a stormy afternoon. It was a little shocking to be off the grid at first but it was just what we needed.
Perfect weekend! The place was so quiet and off the grid, we had a great time! Thanks Ashley.
We had a cozy, relaxing stay at this sweet little cottage. Just a short block from a beach that (in January, at least) is incredibly quiet. When we went out for a run in the morning, we had the entire place to ourselves. The cottage itself is a great place to stay, read, and cook, and it has the most comfortable bed. We definitely hope to come back.
This was the best beach cottage we stayed at in Oregon! Beautiful and super warm and cozy on the inside, and absolutely stunning beach 2 minutes away. The communication with Ashley was quick and super easy. We had a wonderful time, this is a true gem little cottage.
We stayed in this adorable cottage for one night on our trip down the Oregon coast. This cottage was great, a highlight of our trip to the Pacific coast.
Ashley was great. She was quick to respond, gave us all of the information in advance, and the cottage was even cozier than the photos. It was the perfect spot to spend the night, cook some dinner, and watch one of the great movies from the DVD library.
We would definitely stay again. Highly recommended for a great coastal getaway!
We booked at the last minute and Ashley got in touch right away! Very sweet and comfortable little place that has a lot of love put in it.
We had such a wonderful time at this lovely cabin! It was warm and cozy, and made the perfect place for a weekend getaway. The stretch of beach is beautiful, and so much less crowded than Pacific City. We're already thinking about booking it again for our anniversary. :-)
After a few days in Portland, we wanted to have some quiet time near the coast and stayed here. It was awesome. The house is about a fifth of a mile from the beach, with its own path. From there, you can see beautiful cliffs and the enormous rock that serves as the landmark for Pacific City. You can also build a fire down there. The house itself is lovely. A huge, diverse set of DVDs and games; a big kitchen for cooking with all the necessary utensils; a big deck for lounging; a nice, comfortable bed. There's no cell reception or WiFi inside, which is a good excuse to focus on whoever you're with. With a real quick drive, you are to Pacific City, which has a nice grocery store and good brew pub to watch sunsets. The other way, there's a gorgeous hike out into the Pacific, as well as what looked like a very cool Air Museum and the Tillamook cheese factory. We'd go back in a heartbeat. The Portland-to-the-coast drive is really easy if you fly into PDX. Overall, I can't recommend it enough, and we are looking forward to going back when we get a chance.
Ashley's beach cottage was very cozy and quiet and all was as represented. Ashley was very prompt about answering questions, and although we did not meet in person, the many resources about what to do and see that were in the cottage (as well as the books and dvds) gave us the sense that we were in the cottage of a friend. Thus cottage was a fantastic bargain on a lovely section of coast where we enjoyed watching the wildlife in her yard when we weren't at the beach. Highly recommended for a couple or small family..
