Joseph's place was the perfect choice for my month in New York. I was working on a Broadway show in midtown nearly every day, so I wasn't at the apartment much, but I was always happy to come home and climb into bed. The commute was great, the street is relatively quiet, and I had a cool view of lower Manhattan from my bed. Joseph is friendly, helpful, and a really cool guy. We had one other roommate staying while I was there and she was sweet and welcoming. Joseph always communicated any odd scheduling things and asked before entering my room. The apartment is spacious. Would absolutely stay again.
I enjoyed my two months stay in Josephs apartment. Once you get to know Joseph he is a great guy! He is a photographer and often has shoots in the apartment or works in the living room with some of his colleagues but it is always possible just to close the door to your room. The room is really nice. It has a big and comfortable bed and even though it is small it is cosy and has all the things you need; drawer, plenty of room for your clothes and a desk. The roof top is a must see! Has a great view over Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridge.
The area is probably the best thing about the apartment. Right between Greenpoint and Williamsburg it gives you the best of Brooklyn without the area being too full of tourists like in Williamsburg. I will definitely recommend the area and apartment for long term stays.
Joseph was a welcoming host. He was flexible with my check-in, which was at 11pm since my flight had only arrived one hour prior. I didn't have a US mobile number yet, which must've made the process more complicated since I couldn't communicate with Joseph about my arrival, but he was gracious about it, met me in front of the building and helped carry my heavy suitcase up a flight of stairs. The listing for the place is accurate, Joseph had clean sheets and a towel ready for me and had cleaned the room. I came to love the Greenpoint area, it's incredibly safe. As a female travelling alone, walking home at 1 in the morning might be daunting, but the apartment is about two blocks away from the police precinct, so there's nothing to worry about in the slightest. The area is surrounded by lots of things to do - in walking distance to both the G and L trains and there are plenty of shops, banks and restaurants. What's also great about Joseph is that he lives and lets live. I could interact as much as I wanted with him and his colleagues (who are often around the place) or I could also stay in my room all day and not be interrupted. The area is central and I'd say at times it could get quite noisy at night, but this didn't bother me - though if you're a very light sleeper, it might be an issue. The apartment is very spacious for New York, which is awesome. Oh and the rooftop is a must!!

Perfect location, cozy room, impressive roof view and a friendly host. Not much else to wish for!
The room was perfect for what I needed. It was easy to get work done and it was no problem to come and go as I pleased. The room has everything you need including a wardrob and a nice desk. The rooftop views were also a huge bonus and I'm glad I got to stay here. Joseph is a good host and is very accommodating and laid back. A bit shy at first but once you get to know him he opens up and he's always up for conversation. The neighborhood location can't get much better. I fell in love with this area and I think it's one of the best in Brooklyn. There are so many places to explore and getting to midtown takes about 20-30 mins (from walking out the door to stepping off at Union Square). I would recommend staying here.
