  • A peaceful hideaway in the hills yet only 15 minutes from Bantry. You have your own room with bathroom and access to the kitchen. I had a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed - all was nice and clean - a perfect friendly place for those on a budget seeking a country retreat!

  • We spent three wonderful nights at Annie's BnB. The romm is very quiet and the place itself is somewhat off the road so you wouldn't be bothered by traffic noise. Annie is a perfect host, the breakfast was delicious (homemade bread, yummy!) and Annie could tell us quiet a few things about the area, things to see and do and some insights into local politics and other stuff. Oh, and the salad made out of flowers from the garden - delicious.
The house is really old, almost historically old. Very special feeling to stay in a place like this. But very comfy and clean.
Only thing to be aware of: there are cats and dogs (it's a farm after all) so you shouldn't be allergic to any of them. Other then that - everything's fine... (You can't really blame Annie for the rain :-))

  • After having wandered in the countryside for a long time, we finally arrived at Annie's.
You can immediatly feel her warmth and her desire to welcome strangers. It was late to go back to town, so she offered tea and prepared one of the best salad we had eaten, we went to her garden to carefully choose her salad leaves (of which she gave us some seeds). What's more she made us taste her homemade bread elderwine amidst her numerous pets... Breakfst was also a good moment thanks to the homemade bread, marmelade and so on... In a word her home is an Annie's arch !

  • Annie was very welcoming. She took time to discuss with us over a cup of tea. She is very cheerful and really make you feel at home. The bedroom (an attic room full of charm) was lovely. We had a private bathroom with a bathtud, which was great !
The place is always full of life (her daughter and grandchildren living next door, as well as woofers!) but still so quiet and peacefull !
We enjoyed the short walk to the river on Annie's land : her two dogs show us the way to the river ! That moment was unexpected and it was a wonderfull interlude on our road trip.

  • Annie's farm is an experience! We enjoyed our night there and felt very welcomed.
We especially appreciated the short notice stay - Thank you Annie!!!!
The old farmhouse has a charm on its own. Annie is a very warm-hearted person and our room was cozy and clean and the nice and spacious bathroom is conveniently next to it.

If you are not into adventure and like your 5star hotel room with all amenities, Annie's place is not for you.

I'm English, but have been living in West Cork for over 20 years, having Irish ancestry and feel I have come home. Originally a teacher I moved on to work as an Arts Manager, specialising in large outdoor events and community Arts through which I was an Environmental Educator for 14 years with my own company. I like to garden and I like to build! I have been developing my place to be a residential Arts Centre since I arrived here, with the help of friends and volunteers, especially through the WWOOF programme, which I now manage for the island of Ireland.
