West Cork is one of the most beautiful areas of Ireland and I keep maps and brochures of local sites and activities for guests to use.
Public transport is very sparse, so it is easier to come here by car, although if you are happy walking, and staying for more that one night, we are on a bus route from Cork, but only 3 buses a day.
Vriendelijke en geëngageerde gastvrouw, vele jonge mensen, superstille, rustige omgeving
Thank you Annie for one of the highlights of our holiday in Bantry! We had a really lovely time at Annie's house and felt instantly at home. Annie is so welcoming and interesting to meet and her place is in a most beautiful setting. Her farmhouse is lovingly restored and the room is very comfortable and cosy. Our 4-year-old enjoyed Annie's place immensely; the exploring, two lovely friendly dogs and a beautiful little river walk. We have been telling all our friends about Annie's place!
Annie was an awesome host! Her place was super unique! I loved hearing the story about how she has refurbished it! I would highly recommend staying here!
Annie is a super woman. She greeted us in his great society from around the world, with a barbecue, music .... great ... if you want to experience real Irish village that's it ... room nice, clean, bathroom the same ... great experience .. .
I had a wonderful time at Annie's house! She has put so much love and energy into the restoration of her 18th C. farmhouse, it's truly inspiring! She has turned it into one of the cutest, most charming places I've ever seen. Annie herself is so welcoming, friendly, and fascinating to talk to and made me feel like an immediate friend. It was fun to hear about her travel adventures and her work with WOOF. She is the perfect host living in a little piece of heaven! It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Thanks, Annie!
I enjoyed very much my stay at Annie's, and so did my 2 children. The room is cosy and we felt very quicky like at home. The place is ideally situated to discover Bantry bay and the Beara ring, but also if you want to walk directly from the farm and climb the hills around. The kids loved playing with the 2 friendly border colies, my daughters even brought back a toy puppy that she named after one of them!
Peaceful and homy atmosphere! thanks Annie!!
About the Host, Annie
I'm English, but have been living in West Cork for over 20 years, having Irish ancestry and feel I have come home. Originally a teacher I moved on to work as an Arts Manager, specialising in large outdoor events and community Arts through which I was an Environmental Educator for 14 years with my own company. I like to garden and I like to build! I have been developing my place to be a residential Arts Centre since I arrived here, with the help of friends and volunteers, especially through the WWOOF programme, which I now manage for the island of Ireland.
