Interaction with Guests
Always greeted with a cup of tea!
West Cork is one of the most beautiful areas of Ireland and I keep maps and brochures of local sites and activities for guests to use.
Public transport is very sparse, so it is easier to come here by car, although if you are happy walking, and staying for more that one night, we are on a bus route from Cork, but only 3 buses a day.
Possibly the best Airbnb experience I've had. Annie is a fantasic host: very friendly and interesting to chat to. She cooked me dinner and I made friends with her seven gorgeous cats!
Anni is such a nice, warm and welcoming person. It was a pleasure to meet her and her nice family. Staying in her 18th century farm house was an amazing back to the roots experience. The landscape there is gorgeous and in walking distance there is a nice river and other lovely things to explore in the nature. if you are into nature, animals and farming it is the perfect place to stay. Our room was cozy and cute and we just enjoyed our stay. Thank you for having us.
We stayed with Annie in the first week of January to find out how cold, wet and miserable West Cork could be before deciding to move to Ireland.
Yes, It was as dark and wet as we knew it would be, but this just made Annie's house all the more cosy and lovely to be in.
Her renovated farm house and her stories were inspirational. Annie was very welcoming and made us feel very much at home from the beginning. Her lovely dog and cats were very friendly, so a perfect place for animal lovers!
I was there with my 2 year old and husband. It's very child friendly. Annie had many toys my daughter could play and she loved to be with her dog Maggie and many cats! Thank you Annie for a wonderful time. We really recommend anyone to stay with her!
Annie's an amazing host. I was always welcomed with a good cup of tea and a snuggling cat in my lap :-) She's easy to chat to without being intrusive. The room and her home in general are beautiful and I'll happily stay with her again.
Thanks for the great time, Annie!
Annie was so welcoming with a lovely breakfast laid out for us every morning. Her home is a wonderful renovated, old forge, the room was very cosy and comfortable. Staying with annie was a great pleasure!
Annie welcomed me with tea and biscuits. She's warm and makes you feel at home instantly. Her dogs are very sweet, although they do bark loudly when you walk the path to the house. Don't worry about them, they are just telling Annie to put the kettle on.
Annie's cottage is a little ways off the main road, so you need a good description (and probably a car) for getting there. The room is nice but not exactly soundproof. I used earplugs, so I slept well.
When I was showering, the cat came in through the bathroom window. That felt cosy. If you're allergic to cats or dogs, you'd probably be better off somewhere else. But if you like animals like I do, there are plenty petting opportunities.
We have a great stay in Annies Cottage. Everything was clean, we have a very good breakfast. We would do it again. Thanks a lot Annie :)
I'm English, but have been living in West Cork for over 20 years, having Irish ancestry and feel I have come home. Originally a teacher I moved on to work as an Arts Manager, specialising in large outdoor events and community Arts through which I was an Environmental Educator for 14 years with my own company. I like to garden and I like to build! I have been developing my place to be a residential Arts Centre since I arrived here, with the help of friends and volunteers, especially through the WWOOF programme, which I now manage for the island of Ireland.
