Interaction with Guests

We frequently see our guests and enjoy exchanging pleasantries.

The Neighborhood

The Marigny is one of the most loved neighborhoods in New Orleans and our property is just steps from Frenchman Street, the French Quarter, French Market, and the Bywater. Within a few blocks, you will find plenty of great food, music, and art galleries. We provide a guide in the kitchen with our personal recommendations for exploring the local hot spots and activities.

We are laid-back and amenable to a variety of personalities and people. However, please note the following:

Alcohol is a part of the New Orleans experience, but if you are planning on drinking until you are sick, please find another place to stay.

  • Great place in a great location - easy to get to restaurants, coffee shops, music venues, etc. The cottage itself was great - entering the courtyard of the property is like going into an oasis. Brooke and Mark were responsive, gracious, and wonderful hosts. We hope to return on our next trip -

  • Brooke and Mark's cottage was perfect for our group of 4. We were a couple and two singles, and the space worked well for us. No shortage of linens and towels, and Brooke and Mark made sure we had everything we might need to have a comfortable stay.

The courtyard and the pool are gorgeous - I can't imagine surviving the NOLA heat without it! Mark and Brooke are lovely people and we got a chance to hang out with them a few times by the pool. There is also a one bedroom cottage across the courtyard and we made fast friends with the couple staying there. It's great having that common space to enjoy together.

The cottage itself was very well maintained and comfortable. There is a list of house rules, but given the historic charm of the house it makes sense to take that extra bit of care to keep the place in such great shape. Read the rules and follow them for the good of all future AirBnB-ers who are lucky enough to enjoy this lovely space!

We also loved the neighbourhood - the place is incredibly well situated about a 5-10 minute walk to Frenchman street. Mark was full of recommendations for restaurants and bars nearby, which are plentiful and delicious! Great neighbourhood to explore. We ended up extending our stay we had such a great time. We highly recommend the cottage! Any one of us would go back in a heartbeat!

  • The host was nowhere to be found. There was a list of things not to do in the house regarding opening and closing the old shutters and windows. However, we were left on our own to figure out the various quirks in the house. One of our traveling companions had broken his knee. We needed to find out how to rent a wheel chair, how to get a taxi. Again, the hosts were nowhere to be found. I finally called the cell phone number I had to ask if we could use the pool. It was being vacuumed by a remote cleaner whenever we saw it. I got a return voicemail from Brooke several hours saying it was ok to use the pool. And by the way, she was out of town.

  • Great hosts who had exactly the tips we needed!

The cottage we stayed in (two bedroom) was clean, well furnished, and has character.

We also LOVED the neighborhood. Great cafes and a co-op grocery store all available within a few minutes walking. Also just a short walk to Frenchmen street.

    Overall - highly recommend!

  • The 2/bd creole cottage was perfect for our stay! We loved the location and the property is kept up very nice. Staying here made us feel like real locals and we were able to get the full New Orleans experience just steps outside the gate. Brooke and Mark are both very nice people and I would suggest their place to anyone visiting the area.

  • The cottage was incredibly clean and comfortable, and Brooke and Mark were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely return on our next trip to NOLA!

  • This was probably the best airbnb experience I've had so far. My friends and I had a great time in Brooke's and Matt's cottage. The cottage was in a great neighborhood and exactly as described. Brooke and Matt went above and beyond and very accommodating. They even passed on a jazz brunch reservation which was very thoughtful. Check out is at noon but our flight wasn't until later and then got delayed by another 2 hours. It was great that they allowed us to check out later that day which I wouldn't take for granted. I would always go back!

My fiance, Mark, our small dog Scrapper, and I love to travel! Mark is a New Orleans native and I'm from Southern New Jersey. We met while living in San Francisco at Bay to Breakers. We're an easy-going bunch and love to meet new people and hangout with our friends. You can usually find us riding bikes to find some delicious food, lively music or just relaxing at the dog park or by the pool. We love to sail and we try to get on the water anywhere and anytime we can.
