In a surreal atmosphere, a terrace overlooking the baroque town of Modica, natural wood and vegetation, a renovation of the house to its traditions with ancient stone flooring and polychrome hand made majolica ceramics.
The house is independent and with three floors and consists of a living room with futon, dining room with a Saarinen table under the old stone vaults and a cellar in the cave.
A staircase leads to the upstairs bedroom with a window on the old town and a large bathroom with a double shower.
Upstairs a fully equipped kitchen and a dining table with the access to a huge wooden terrace with a barbecue, a dining table, local plants and herbs.
The center of Modica is right under the house and so everything is within walking distance.

There is a wonderful sense of generosity when someone opens such a personal and special home to others. So much time and thought has been given to making this a very special, unforgettable place, with spectacular views (which are framed like paintings by the windows). My daughter said: "A house like this makes you want to meet the owner!" Loads of lovely crockery and kitchen supplies (but no oven-- just a fancy microwave.) You'll be eating out often anyway! Communication is very good and everyone is kind and helpful.
However, for four people, I'm not sure the winter is the best time to stay here! We were VERY cold most of the time-- the bedding wasn't warm enough, we didn't have hot water one day, and no internet, so we weren't always comfortable. The team responds very quickly and patiently -- they are great, but better if there's no need to have to ask them to come solve problems!
We had a great time and the house was very beautiful! Good service, we would definitly recommend this place!
This place is spectacular, in a superb location with gorgeous views over Modica. Isabella is delightful and gave us lots of local info and insisted on carrying one of our heavy bags up the 50 or so steps to the apartment....three floors oozing with character, art, and design. Could stay there forever. Highly recommended.
The terrace is really breathtaking and cooking in a kitchen with this outstanding view just wonderful!
We had a relaxing time and felt very welcome. Not just in the apartment but also in the enjoyable neighborhood with very friendly people.
The house was just as we expected.
When we arrived the owner presented us with the great variety of local chocolate delights. We enjoyed it the rest of the week, just as the beautiful house which was so well decorated and pleasant to stay. At the terrace we went for our breakfast and dinner. In the living room down stairs we stayed in the evening to read a good book, or lounged with some music and a good glass of Sicilian wine.
The town is a place which needs some extra exploration to get familiar with, but then after a wile you fall inevitable in love with it.
It was a pity we had to leave. But I'm sure we will visit again the next time we will return to Sicily.
We had a fantastic time staying in Modica and would highly recommend this rental.
The house is beautifully appointed, and has everything needed for a great stay.
Isabella, our contact, couldn't have been more helpful to us. She met us from our taxi, settled us into the house (leaving us with a bottle of wine and some local delicacies), arranged us a car hire and gave us top tips about the local area.
We had a fantastic stay and one of the highlights was the accommodation.
