I recently moved into this apartment on 1 May. It is newly renovated, clean and comfortable.
This is 1 out of 3 bedrooms in the apartment. If you are alone, a couple, or group of friends, this room can accommodate you guys easily! The room by default goes for 2-3 people. If you are a group of 3-4 people, you are welcome to make space as you see fit. The main bed is big enough to take 3 people easily - with a double bed on the lower portion and a twin on top.
When you arrive, you will have your own key to the apartment, to enter and leave whenever you want. Just make sure to lock the apartment door behind you whenever you come in or go out!
There is 1 bathroom shared amongst the 3 bedrooms. I, Yehuda, will be around the house from time to time. If I am away at the time you rent the room, I will have a friend stay in the living room to let you into the apartment, give you keys, and show you around the house! We have a very large kitchen with all of the cooking supplies you would ever need, available for you to use. Please remember to clean up anything you use, after using it!
About the location: it is located at the corner of East 118th Street & 3rd Avenue in Manhattan, right by the 6 train station at 116th Street. The subway entrance is 2 blocks from the apartment.
The neighborhood is lively, well-lit, and very safe. There are supermarkets and delis everywhere, many are 24-hours.
Central Park is at 110th Street and 5th Avenue, about a 10 minute walk away from the apartment! The Metropolitan and Guggenheim Museums are 4 subway stops away. Everything else downtown, you can use the subway 24 hours, and its right nearby!
A laundromat is right near the apartment as well.
If you want to smoke, you can use the room, just please make sure to open a window and air it out afterwards.
If you have any further questions, feel free to email me and ask! If you are able to view this listing, then YES it is already available for the dates you are interested, so feel free to make a booking, and hope to see you soon in NYC!
***To answer the most common question: What is the price?
On the calendar you will see the price of each day (which changes throughout the busy season and on the weekends). After you select your days, airbnb adds all those days up, and adds their fee. That total is what you pay to airbnb.

How could we describe our stay in this appartment ? When we arrived, we discovered that the flat we were staying in a flat shared with two other airbnb rooms, rent by different owners. Each room was for 3 people and there is only one bathroom (with the toilets in the bathroom of course). The living room was messy (Zev told us that one of the piece of furniture had just been broken), there was no couch nor table and chair as seen on the photos. We had to eat on a suitcase for the entire stay. There were not enough dishes for everyone.
One of the other airbnb renters told us that there were bugs in the flat and a lot of dirty things when they had arrived 5 days before. We found the former sheets in the closet of our room. Towels had been used to fill the gap of the air conditioned. Hopefully, Zev removed them and the air conditioned the day we arrived. In addition to that, our bed was blocking the emergency exit.
And last but not least, a group of 14 people arrived in the same room. It was not Zev who had rent them the place but one of the other owners. Zev had told us he has tried to call Manuel, the owner of the 14 people room but unfortunately we was unable to fix this problem.
If you are not afraid of dirtiness, and want to live near the subway, book this room. But we don’t recommend you.
It is unfortunate that Amelie did not enjoy her stay here in NYC. I'd like to address a few of her complaints.
1) Whether the other rooms are rented or not, it is clearly stated that this is 1 out of 3 bedrooms in the apartment, and we proactively encourage guests to keep bathroom times short. Usually this is not a problem.
2) There were no tables in my photos, and clicking my listing can clearly show this. We are getting a new couch for the living room, however being that the listing is for the bedroom, I don't agree that this should be a priority. But as I mentioned, we are getting a new one.
3) One of the rules in the apartment is for guests to wash their own dishes to avoid this problem. We cannot be police 24/7 to enforce these rules.
4) There were no bugs in the room, and complaints made for other rooms (rooms that are no-access for my guests, is unfair for this review.
5) The towels were clean and temporary until I removed the A/C, which I did immediately upon request. Laundry is laundry and it was out of sight.
6) The bed was one hand-length from the window, as many beds are and could easily be moved by a child in the event of an emergency.
7) It is unfortunate, but the renters of the room brought extra people AGAINST the rules of AirBnB and the owner of the room, as well as what was in the reservation. This incident is being dealt with. While I am not responsible for this, I understand the inconvenience, and can assure this is an extremely rare situation for AirBnB in general.
8) We have a housekeeper come and clean the apartment ready, so I don't agree with their opinion that this was dirty. There were boxes out of the way in the corner of the living room, but the place was clean.
Again, it is unfortunate that Amelie didn't like her stay, and I hope she finds less complaints in her future bookings with AirBnB.
Fuimos tres personas y la habitación era suficiente para pasar un fin de semana en New York. El único punto negativo fue que entraba un poco de aire por una de las ventanas y hacía un poco de frío por la noche. Por lo demás todo bien.
Two friends and me enjoyed the room for a three day trip in NY. In general we liked the room. The only negative point about the room was one of the window. It was impossible to close it completely so the room was cold during night. Except that small detail, everything else was ok.
I really like my stay at the apartment. Zev was a very accommodating host, even thought we arrived at around 3 am the was someone there to open the door for us and give us our key.
The apartment was as advertised and the neighborhood looks nicer in person than in the picture. Places to eat breakfast are far and few between if you don't want fast food, but this is what the kitchen is for.
The apartment does hold two other rooms so we were alone in the apartment though, in much the same way it would be if you staid at a hotel. I never really noticed in any negative way the other people living in the apartment and they seemed, from our brief encounters, to be nice and courteous people. There is only one bathroom thought and sharing it with the other people in the apartment took some, but not much, patience in the morning.
All in all I would say that my stay at the apartment was great and I would stay there again.
It was a nice place to stay as we just needed a place to sleep at. It's located close to the metro which makes it easy to travel to wherever you'd wish to go. It would have been nice to know that it's located in Spanish Harlem, though.
i was looking forward to the experience at this location and it was disappointing. the location was not the greatest neighborhood but i felt safe and it was fine, the bedroom was comfortable enough and quiet, the hosts were super flexible with check in and out times.
but the bathroom was very dirty and when i text-ed zev to inquire, he said he would get someone on it, but not much changed. the tub ring was months old and the dirt along the floor baseboards was thick. the bath mat was wet and dirty and when i would put it aside and place one of my clean given towels on the floor, the wet bath mat kept re-appearing. i never met zev, the gal who let us in was pleasant enough but her sleeping on the couch every night and sometimes with friends joining her, was not the comfortable living space i imagined. it would have been great if she at least cleaned the bathroom. on our last night there, the shower water pressure and heat was so weak and cool, we could not shampoo, etc.
Recomendo!
I spent two days in this cozy apartment. I am very pleased. The neighborhood is quiet and you can fast reach the center. If I go back to New York one day, I would choose the same place!
It was a good location and the whole experience was very easy going. Would use again.
My friend and I just needed a place to stay for one night after attending a concert so this worked out fine for us. There is only one bathroom shared amongst 3 rooms and we had to wait to use the bathroom a few times. I also appreciate a relatively clean restroom and because of the sharing situation, it was not very clean. This may have been a problem if we had stayed more than one night and had been in need of a more thorough hygiene routine. The host who greeted us was kind and available to answer questions.
We have had a pleasant stay at Zev's appartment. However, I'd like to highlight few concerns:
- bathroom not very clean
- inappropriate check-in (1H30 late vs. agreed appointment time / room was not ready BUT Zev available on phone with a problem-solving approach)
It is a good plan if you'd like to spend few days in NYC with friends. However, I would not recommend this accomodation for a stay with your girlfriend/wife, the room is not set up for that anyway!
Good location, close to metro lines 4,5 and 6.
... oh yes, Air conditionning was a LIFE SAVIOR during the 3 first days!
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
