All apartments, whether a studio apartment or a one bedroom apartment, are very spacious! We do not have two bedroom apartments. Each apartment is private. You will be the only guest in your apartment. Only you will have the access entry code to enter. You will also be given the access entry code to the front gate. Do not share entry codes with anyone else other than your guests.
This is not shared living. You will have a complete private home. In addition to your own private sleeping arrangements you will have your own kitchen, your own living room area in the studios and large living rooms in the one bedrooms. You will have your own private bathroom.
Prior to reserving your apartment we cannot communicate by phone. We can only communicate by messaging on airbnb. After you book your reservation, you will be able to continue to communicate with me on airbnb, by email, or by cell phone.
We follow the strict cancellation policy. No refunds one week prior to your first day. 50% refund up to one week prior to your first day.

We have a total of nine hotel apartments.
Our rates are set. We will not lower them any further. There are no discounted rates and no weekly nor monthly discounted rates offered. Add in the onetime cleaning fee of $50. All other costs and fees for Alexa Hotel At The Artiste Apartments are included. Airbnb adds in their extra fees. Airbnb charges a service fee and, if appropriate, an international currency exchange fee. These airbnb fees we have nothing to do with. Airbnb will calculate, collect, and keep, those extra fees.
Studio apartments are set at the $105 nightly rate.

The number of the apartment indicates the floor the apartment is on. For example, 4G 4Q and 4W are each on the fourth floor.
Our building is located in the heart of Hollywood. We are on the corner of North Cherokee Avenue and West Yucca Street at 1746 North Cherokee Avenue Los Angeles CA 90028.
Stay here and you will be one short block north of Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood Walk of Fame Stars. Walk a couple blocks either way and you will find Hollywood and Vine or Hollywood and Highland! Hop on a tourist bus. Or take public buses located nearby. Bus stops are a block or two away. Walk to the Metro subway train just a few blocks away. Drive or walk to the many tourist destinations Southern California has to offer.
This residential building was built in the 1920’s by a New York architect. It is a four story building with 90 apartment units. Some of these apartments have been converted to hotel apartments for the convenience of many vacationers on holiday or visitors needing a short term stay. Six steps lead up to four stairwells and one elevator. There are fire escapes throughout, in case of an emergency.
Each apartment has rich exposed brick walls and wood floor throughout most of the apartments. Live like a local in Hollywood while enjoying the amenities of one's own home. You will be in your own private apartment. This is not shared living space with strangers. You will be with your own family and friends in private.
All apartments are furnished, have a complete private bathroom, and you will have your own nice sized kitchen. Each apartment has a sofa, but they are not sofa beds. The studio apartments have one queen size bed. The one bedroom apartments have one queen size bed in the bedroom plus an extra sleeping arrangement in the living room (3A queen bed, 3B queen size bed, 3V king size bed, and 4W twin size bed). We do not provide beds for babies, but I can provide extra bed linen and pillows. For your extra guests over four people, we do not have sofa beds nor roll away beds nor fold out beds. Yes, if you need for your extra guests over four people you may bring your own air mattresses. Let me know and I will provide extra bed linen for air mattresses.
Each apartment has a window air conditioner, floor fan, and ceiling fan. And each apartment has a wall heater a space heater, stove, toaster oven microwave, and refrigerator. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, cooking utensils, and all needed eating dishes, glasses, utensils. We offer basic cable TV channels and internet wifi access. We have one television in each apartment. We are installing small secure safes located in the linen cabinet/closet for your currency, valuables, documentation, etc. I would suggest not to travel with any large amounts of currency or valuables. I suggest Travelers Cheques and not traveling with valuables such as expensive jewelry.
We provide fresh bed linen already prepared on each bed. We provide clean bathroom towels. We provide paper products. Each apartment has a hair dryer in the bathroom area, a clothes’s iron and a small iron board located in one of the closets. If there is anything you need, contact me I will help when possible.
It is possible for you to book more guests in your apartment. The recommendations on the listings are for comfort. Studio apartments comfortably accommodate two guests. One bedroom apartments comfortably accommodate three or four guests. There is a fee for added guests. Contact me for added guests and more information.
To arrive to our building, you may rent a car at the airport, book a shuttle, or take a taxi. All this information I can provide after you book your reservation. You will also need to look online to get more information and contact phone number. You can make phone calls to find out their rates and their information. Shuttle bus drivers and taxi drivers know how to arrive to our building. To arrive from Los Angeles International Airport, my best recommended route is taking mostly La Cienega Boulevard. I will provide further route information, after you book your reservation, just ask me.
Check out time is 10:00 am (not 12:00 noon) or before. Check in time is 12:00 pm noon or later. Call me if you need me, I live in the building so I will assist if needed. I provide information after you book your reservation so you may easily self check in on your own.
You may need to book your apartment an extra night, if you arrive extra early before check in or are leaving late at night after check out. We are very booked in all of our apartments so I am unable to accommodate your coming into your apartment early prior to check in time or staying late in your apartment late after check out time. I may be able to provide courtesy luggage service. However, more and more this request is keeping me very busy. I may or may not be able to help you. I recommend you book the apartment extra time if you need to leave your luggage at the building prior to check in or after check out. Remind me again prior to your stay. There is no charge for this service. But, I do ask you choose only one. That is, either choose to leave your luggage prior to check in or choose to leave your luggage after checking out. Not both. I also request you leave your luggage for only a couple of hours after check out, not several hours late into the late night.
Check out time is 10:00am (not noon). You are free to self check out. You may leave keys visible on the coffee table or near the TV.
Be careful where you park in Southern California. Parking Enforcement will ticket cars and/or tow your car away. For street parking read all the street signs. Be aware of street cleaning days, Mondays and Tuesdays in this area. I recommend for you to always go into a pay to park lot. This can be expensive but it is cheaper than getting a ticket and/or having your car towed. In the event your car is towed, check with the Official Police Garage, who might have towed your car. The OPG in this area is located on Mansfield Ave and Romaine St. 1015 N Mansfield Ave. (phone number hidden). OPG is located about 1.5 miles from the building. Take Hollywood Bl west to Highland Ave south to Romaine St west.
There is no parking located onsite on this property. Directly next door to the building is a parking structure you may pay to park during your stay here. They are PCI Parking Concepts Inc. 1718 North Cherokee Avenue Los Angeles CA 90028. Teleph(phone number hidden). Call them for specifications, requirements, accommodations, costs. Currently they charge $16. This price may vary or change. Look online for information. This is not in and out parking. You will always find available parking here. There is someone present in the booth 24 hours, 7 days a week. There are other parking locations in the area. These parking lots are owned by different companies. You can look online, type in something like “parking lots Hollywood.” We are located on the corner of North Cherokee Avenue and West Yucca Street. Different lots provide different services, have different hours, guidelines, and charge different rates. Ask about overnight parking and their current rates.
I provide the entry code to enter our front gate. You will find a keypad lock to enter your apartment. I will provide the entry codes after you have booked your reservation. Do not share entry codes with anyone else other than your guests. Do not say the code out loud. I provide one key. This key is located inside your apartment usually by the television. Look for the bright green lanyard ribbon. This key opens both the laundry room located in the basement and the trash bin door located outside on West Yucca Street. Sometimes keys get misplaced, call me and I can provide a copy.
Courtesy cable television is provided in each apartment. We have one television in each apartment. We provide wireless internet is provided for all guests. The network and the password code are located on the side of the modem. It is clearly written. Look for the black and white modem in your apartment. Each apartment has a modem plugged in. It is most likely placed in the living room or kitchen on a table, floor, or counter. Click on the network on your device and enter the password code.
The laundry room is located in the basement for your use. You are provided a laundry room key. This key is located inside your apartment usually placed next to the television. Look for the green lanyard ribbon. This key opens both the laundry room located in the basement and the trash bin door located outside on West Yucca Street. Sometimes keys get misplaced, call me and I can provide a copy. There are six washer machines and six dryers. The washer machines and dryer machines are all quarter operated. Quarters may be purchased on Hollywood Blvd and Whitley Ave. There are no laundry products sold here. Products may be purchased on Cahuenga Blvd and Yucca Street at CVS drug store or Yucca Market.
For your comfort and safety we have a security guard who works with us. He is available for nonemergencies, noise complaints, middle of the night disturbances, or any suspicious activity. The building residents may contact him or me or the building manager, in the event loud noises are coming from your apartment and you may contact us if you hear loud noise coming from another apartment. I will provide our contact information after you have booked your reservation.
The safety of the neighborhood and building is a personal opinion. I feel very safe here. You may contact the police department online for information regarding neighborhood safety. They are located on Wilcox Avenue.
There is no smoking allowed indoors at the Alexa Hotel At The Artiste Apartments. You may smoke outside in the courtyard.
We welcome children. There is no extra charge for infants, nor toddlers. Only indicate the number of guests as to number of total adults and children and teenagers. Let me know if you have any special needs. I will try to accommodate, if possible.
We do have an elevator, however there are six steps up to reach the elevator, so consider this if any of your guests has a handicap issue.
We are very pet friendly. Pets are welcomed. Describe your pets accompanying you. I do not need photos nor records, but I recommend you have with you photos of your pets and current vaccination records, in the case of an emergency you will be prepared. When outside of your apartment, keep your dogs on leashes and clean up after all your pets both indoors and outdoors. If you need anything special, let me know.
This is a residential building. Our permanent residents will call our security guard and the police department if there is excessive continued loud noises coming from any of our apartments. This can include but is not limited to continued loud music partying and roughhousing. If you plan to party or be loud in any way, I strongly recommend you consider doing so at another location. And so, the same applies to residents. Guests may call our security guard or myself or the building manager, at any time, for any reason. You may call us regarding continued loud noise, excessive dog barking, etc.
There is no professional nor amateur filming, video recording, nor photographing, allowed on the premises. There is none allowed, not inside the apartment nor anywhere around the building, not inside the building nor around the building property. You must contact me first to discuss obtaining the property owner’s permission. Or we will strictly have your crew, subjects, equipment, and all property quickly removed.

Enjoyed my stay. The only issue I have with the place is the computer screen for a tv. Haha could use a bigger TV other than that the place was great.
Apartment was fantastic in a nice building and great location. Martha was super helpful making sure my stay was a good one - arrived in LA late at night yet had no problem entering the building with Martha's instructions. Would gladly stay again.
We had a great stay in Martha's unit 4G, she was great to work with and very responsive. She contacted me immediately if I had questions. Great location if you are looking to be close to the strip. Martha is an excellent host.
The place was perfect for our stay. It was exactly what we needed and exactly as Martha described it in the listing. She was an excellent host and sent me everything I needed to know within minutes of booking. The guide she shared was very thorough and clear and made our trip so much easier. The place was in great shape when we arrived and we didn't find ourselves wanting for anything. There was plenty of space and everything was clean and in working order.
As usual. I consider this my 'spot' it's a special building and they take a lot of care in keeping it safe, maintained and quiet I always appreciate martha and Joyce's hospitality and appreciate their making me feel so at home.

The studio apt was great! We were in town for the Turner Classic Movie festival and this couldn't have been more convenient to the theaters on Hollywood Blvd.
The apt itself is very spacious, high ceilings, clean.
I actually got very lucky and didn't have to pay for parking once in the 5 days we were there - there's 4 hour parking on Yucca near a school just west of the building.
It's also good to have a full, separate kitchen - we hit Trader Joe's on Vine (and Ralph's down Hollywood…).
As others have said, the building may look a bit rundown from the outside, nothing bad though. And this specific apt, 4th (top) floor, was very quiet with the AC blowing.
Martha was very responsive to any requests I had (I didn't have many!).
I stayed here for an extended weekend and everything was great. The apartment was wonderful and in a perfect location.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Martha's apartment. Prior to our arrival she had upgraded us, at no extra cost, to a west facing space so we had a view of Hollywood. Everything we wanted was in easy striking distance - subway, buses, and the Starline hop-on hop-off open top to get us to Santa Monica, Venice, Downtown, Universal and more. There were plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars in easy walking distance. The apartment (4W) is spacious, light and comfortable, plenty of relaxing room and numerous hanging and storage spaces. Martha is a great communicator - nothing was too much trouble. During our journey to LA the block managers changed the outside gate entry code, Martha updated us straightaway by text, email and even tried getting through to my cellphone. On our departure day we had some spare hours and we were able to use the apartment for this time. This is an ideal base for greater LA and we don't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
The apartment was very clean and spacious. The location was perfect: right off Hollywood Blvd. Martha was helpful in answering all my questions and she was very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it. Thanks Martha!
