Come and enjoy a peaceful stay on five acres of country land in the heart of Ohio!
You will have a private bedroom that is next to a private full bath. The bedroom is very spacious and has a queen and twin bed (additional air mattress provided for parties over 3), plenty of pillows and blankets, a dresser and a closet for your clothes and belongings, and a fantastic view of the woods on our property. The bathroom is located right next to the bedroom. We provide towels, washcloths, and soap/shampoo/conditioner for you.
Conveniently, your bedroom and bath are located on the second floor of our house, whereas all of the rooms we commonly use are on the first floor. Therefore, you should expect to enjoy a nice sense of privacy during your stay.
In the morning, we will provide items for a light and informal breakfast (cereal, oatmeal, fruit, milk, juice, tea, coffee). We want this to be a more laid-back experience for both you and for us, so please feel free to make yourself at home in our kitchen and dining room. We have a Keurig, so you can make tea or coffee anytime of day or night. You are also welcome to use the kitchen for light cooking during your stay, so if you want to make a fancier breakfast (or other meals) - feel free!
Our house is situated on five acres of land in a quiet country neighborhood. Half of our land is yard/gardens, and the other half is a beautiful wooded lot with nature trails. We'd love for you to enjoy the nature trails as much as we do, so please feel free to enjoy a stroll through them during the day.
We are in Ashland, Ohio, which is conveniently located about halfway between Cleveland (70 minutes away) and Columbus (85 minutes away). We are very close to downtown Ashland, Ashland University, and Ashland Theological Seiminary (10 minutes). Additionally, we are close to Wooster and The College of Wooster (30-35 minutes), to Medina (40 minutes), and to Mansfield (30 minutes). For those of you who want a quiet retreat in preparation for a fun day of rollercoasters, we are within an easy drive of Cedar Point (80 minutes).

Robert and Katie are good, but the dogs Nala and Oreo were AWESOME! Our hosts went out of their way to keep the dogs away from us as a courtesy. My friend left a bunch of jewelry behind, and Katie agreed to mail it back. They helped us learn to use the coffee maker in the morning. They were gracious, welcoming, clean and friendly. Also, the home and property were beautiful. Hopefully our hosts accepts our apologies if we woke them after getting back from our tour of the nearby Mansfield Reformatory.
Robert and Katie were great hosts. Something unexpected came up so I had to cut my stay short and they were very understanding. Their home is quite comfortable and located in a quiet area off the beaten path yet very close to all that Ashland has to offer. The leaves were changing when I arrived and the woods behind their home was gorgeous. I would certainly recommend their place to anyone.
This was our first airbnb experience, so we didn't know quite what to expect, plus we got there later than we had agreed on so we were a little nervous. However when we finally met Rob and Katie that all went away. They were both very friendly, totally at ease and understanding. After a warm greeting they showed us around their comfey place and the lovely room they had all prepared for us--it was everything we expected. We were tired after the day's travels and went right to bed. Ah, peace and quite. The bed enveloped us in warmth and tranquility. I the morning we were greeted by a beautiful burst of color out our bedroom window; the fall colors were spectacular! What a wonderful way to begin our leaf peeking adventure! As promised there was a nice breakfast set out for us. Anxious to begin our journey we slipped out the door before anyone could get off to work. Given the opportunity we would certainly book with them again.
What a great place to stay in Ohio ! Great countryish location and Katie & Robert were fantastic hosts. The host were very easy to communicate with as well as being thoughtful enough to let us know when they are in or out. They gave us good information about how to find the house and were great with answering any questions we had in a quick and timely manner.
The room on the first floor is large and you can open the window, the bathroom is a good size with shower and you will find there everything you need. There is also airco. It was clean. It is also very quiet, so we had no problem to sleep at night! The house was quiet and the neighborhood was super charming.
You can have breakfast at the host with excellent fresh vegetables from the garden. We didn't use the kitchen, but it seemed adequately outfitted for meals.
It was exactly what we were looking for. It was comfortable and relaxing and I would definitely recommend them as hosts to everybody who is looking for a nice stay in Ohio. It was central to so many of the places that we wanted to visit as (30 minutes) Berlin and Wooster. I hope to stay at this place in the future.
After five days it seems the time has come for us to leave Katie & Robert and the two dogs; Oreo and Nola. We are sad to see goodbye to the dogs because they are enthusiastic and friendly, they always listen to your command and are very quiet. They love it when you have some attention !
Katie and Rob were wonderful hosts! They provided is with great hospitality in their beautiful, safe home in Ashland. We'd totally recommend Katie and Rob's home for an Airbnb stay. :)
Robert and Katie were wonderful hosts! They waited for us, even with a late 1030 pm arrival. Their home was lovely and their dogs were sweethearts! A great pit stop on our Midwest to New England road trip. Would highly recommend.
Robert and Katie were very accommodating hosts. They welcomed us and our big dog sasko. Suggested the nice walk around the fields close to their home. It was beautiful! We saw the red orange sunset and the fireflies. They made sure we were comfortable and offered breakfast to go for our long roadtrip.
The location was very peaceful and relaxing and not too far from the freeway. The room was nice and clean. Same goes for the private bathroom with fresh towels and toiletries. Internet was fast and reliable too.
Hi - we are Robert and Katie, a practical and young-at-heart married couple. We live with our two friendly and quirky dogs in a country neighborhood on five beautiful wooded acres.
One year ago we traveled to Peru and decided to try Airbnb for the first time as guests. We had a fantastic time experiencing the culture firsthand, and were so inspired that on the return flight home we made the decision to offer our guest bedroom on the site.
Since that time, we have hosted amazing guests (both national and international) and are continuously inspired and humbled by the conversations and experiences we have shared with our guests. We love serving as hosts, and believe strongly in sharing our home and resources with fellow travelers.
We are young professionals and enjoy our careers as an entrepreneur (Robert) and a professor (Katie). Besides staying busy with our careers, we share many hobbies. Some of our hobbies include: traveling, hiking, gardening, cooking, spending time with our family, salsa dancing, taking walks with our two dogs, and playing European board games.
