A Retreat in the City~
1920's bungalow off Historic Sandy Boulevard in NE Portland.
I am offering a sublet, small one-bedroom home in the Sumner Triangle/ Madison Neighborhood, on the north side of Rocky Butte, walk to the Grotto's meditative gardens and forest paths.
The home is a cozy early 1900's bungalow on a street of similar homes. The home and area have good energy. The home is calm and and meditative space with a large mandala mural in the living room, stained glass window panels, driftwood fence, prayer flags, covered patio, front porch, good neighbors. Fire pit in back yard.
The house is close to some major thoroughfares, but remarkably quiet. The view from the front of the house is of a wooded hillside filled with life. You will hear owls at night, see the fir trees swaying in the wind.
Located in a friendly neighborhood, a little off the beaten path, but with easy access to all of the city and surroundings.
The large back yard contains ornamental trees & shrubs, bamboo, flowers, potted plants, seating, patio space, a driveway, and yard art.
The bathroom has a bathtub.
There is no cable tv, no basement access, no washer/dryer. There is a closet in the bedroom, but other than that, there is very little storage space. The ideal renter will have very little stuff.
Walking distance to MAX train (park rose station), easy access to the airport and the Gorge, freeways I-205 and I-84. You can be across the river in Washington or down the Gorge in 10 minutes.
10 minutes to downtown Portland by car. 15 minutes by bus. The bus is one block over and is a frequent route. One block from 3 buslines: the 12 , the 71, & the 72.
Amenities closeby: Safeway, many Asian cuisine options, Whole Foods, Fred Meyer, Vietnamese supermarket, German delis & bakeries, Park Rose & Hollywood farmer's market, breakfast diner, Indian & Mexican food.
The butte, one block away, has hiking trails and caves, and rock climbing (the best in Portland metro area).
Several blocks the to Public Library, the Roseway Theater; the Hollywood Theater is down Sandy Boulevard. There is a Trader Joe's in Hollywood neighborhood as well.
You will be sharing the property part-time with the owner who resides in a seperate mother-in-law unit in the rear of the house.
We are seeking a renter who will take responsibility for the yard and report repair needs to the handyman when needed.
The sublet can be for 3 months (april, may, june) or possibly 6 months.
Limited interaction with owner who lives part-time in seperate in-law unit.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
