My husband, daughter, and I stayed at Yovel's place for 5 nights while attending wedding festivities of some friends who lived close by. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and roomy. It is in a very walkable area near Atlantic street where there are a lot of great shops and restaurants. It was also a 3 minute stroll to the subway.
Yovel was a great host- he was available and happy to answer questions both before and during our stay. He provided multiple copies of the keys and high quality, soft, clean bedding and towels. Additionally, he went above and beyond by providing a very nice guide of the area including menus of local restaurants that would deliver to the building.
This apartment was like a home away from home. My family and I would definitely stay at Yovel's again.
Yovel was a very thoughtful host- he made sure we had everything we needed. He even checked in with us a few days after our arrival once to make sure all was ok. The apartment is extremely well situated and has all supplies you might need. Family friendly too.
Yovel was a very nice host and has a clean, spacious and conveniently located apartment. I would definitely recommend it to others.
My son (age 13) and I had a wonderful 5-night stay in Yovel's apartment. The apartment was clean, comfortable and has plenty of space. The high-floor location minimizes street noise, and there is a great westward view that includes the Statue of Liberty. We felt totally safe in the neighborhood, and having a doorman in the building provides an extra layer of comfort in that regard.
The location is excellent for exploring NYC. Only a 2-3 block walk gets you to Borough Hall or Jay St. subway stops, providing access to all the major subway lines into Manhattan. Trader Joe's and RiteAid are right across the street.
Unfortunately, Yovel was out of town during our visit, but Renee did a great job getting us set up and providing several useful restaurant recommendations. I definitely recommend this apartment.
My daughter and I really enjoyed the comfort and convenience of this apartment stay. Close to subways, great cafes and restaurants, interesting shops. Though Yovel was out of town during our stay, he was open and available for all questions He left an informative notebook to familiarize us with the building amenities and the neighborhood. Comfortable beds, well-appointed bath and kitchen made for a delightful stay. The bitter cold outside had no effect on our cozy and warm respite inside.
Yovel is a fantastic host, with the most thorough introduction to an Airbnb I've ever experienced. As a previous reviewer said, it really can only be liked at staying with a good friend you've known for years, Yovel is kind and accommodating. This building is superbly located, very easy to get around and into Manhattan and great amenities nearby. The apartment itself is great, large for a NY apartment and full of things to make it feel like home. Nothing like living like a New Yorker for a week in your very own apartment!
Staying at Yovel's apartment was the closest thing to staying at a close friend's home. He is trustful, delightful and really goes out of his way to be the perfect host. The best thing is that he is very concerned on how the stay is working-out for the guests. That is not common for a short-term rental. The apartment is located in a lovely, modern building with 24-hour concierge, and the location could not be more convenient. Supermarket, subway, pharmacy, car service, restaurants and shopping on every corner. The apartment has a laundry room on the same floor which is also a plus. The apartment is well-equipped, comfortable, and very welcoming. I recommend his home for a family-stay, especially if travelling with children and seniors, which was my experience. You feel like staying for more days I hope to be back soon!
I had an excellent stay in Brooklyn Heights at Yovel's lovely apartment. The apartment is clean, nicely furnished, and stocked with everything you need & more. I especially loved the Bose surround sound system and the TV already hooked up with Netflix & cable channels.
Check-in was a breeze. I was met in the apartment, a quick briefing about where to find things, and given a set of keys. The extra courtesy of leaving maps and general information in a binder on the table was really appreciated.
This is a prime location to stay in if you're visiting NYC. Brooklyn Heights is beautiful and just a few minutes away from Manhattan by train. Most train lines run in and out of this area so in with a 4 minute walk you can grab just about any subway you need (a great convenience if you wish to visit the 5 boroughs on your trip). You have access to great food (email hidden)ly neighborhood that is completely walkable. Trader Joe's is just a block away for grocery shopping and just about any store you can think of within a 6 block radius.
The building is a modern mid-rise with full concierge and front desk. Very safe and secure which I liked as I was traveling solo for a good part of my trip. Did I mention the bed?? Oh the bed is some kind of foam Tempur-Pedic set up that is super comfortable!
The only critique I have is of the photos on Air bnb. The place is actually much nicer than pictured. You don't get a good feel for the sunlight that fills the livingroom through the oversized windows or the coziness of the space.
I would stay here again and recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a real NYC experience that is both convenient and comfortable.
We really enjoyed our stay at Yovel's apartment. It was as described: sunny, spacious, and extremely well located.
His pictures don't do justice to the views. Although there is an apartment block directly opposite (identical to the one you are standing in), the views to either side are expansive -- one way looks over Brooklyn towards the Hudson, with the Statue of Liberty and Staten Island. The other looks inland towards the Boerum Hill and Park Slope areas of Brooklyn.
The situation is great. If you took a tour of Brooklyn, you might decide that this would be the ideal place to be: on the corner of Court Street and Atlantic. The Borough Hall subway station, five minutes' walk away, is the first stop outside Manhattan for many trains. So the connections are brilliant -- 10 minutes to Downtown, 15 mins Grand Central, 20 mins Central Park.
Court Street and nearby Smith Street have lots of restaurants -- Tex-Mex (Lobo), Thai (Chili Cafe), organic (Bareburger), fish (Kittery in Smith St), Downtown Bar & Grill in Court St -- we sampled just these few out of the many, and enjoyed them all.
If you walk beyond Borough Hall station, you get into the Brooklyn Heights area, with leafy streets down to the riverside walk. You probably know there is a huge road by the East River in Brooklyn but the walkway above it is very pleasant with those incredible views of Manhattan, and then you can go on to walk over Brooklyn Bridge.
The apartment was a very pleasant, comfortable place to be, with a big TV and lots of interesting teas to try. And excellent wifi! (Apart from the day the whole district lost its internet connection.)
Definitely a winner. Many thanks, Yovel.
Cath and Phil
Yovel's apartment is ideally located: just one stop from Manhattan and in the middle of a vibrant neighborhood of Brooklyn with lots of good restaurants and shops. It is cozy and equipped with every comfort. Yovel received us warmly and gave us good tips for our stay. We could always rely on him.
