Interaction with Guests
We take our interaction cues from our guests. Some are more private than others and we respond accordingly. If we don’t anticipate your needs please tell us during your stay. We are not early birds so our guests can have the kitchen to themselves in the morning and we try to schedule our evening meal after our guests. I enjoy baking and sharing the results with our guests. We enjoy sharing our hospitality. Some of our guests have become lasting friends.
This home is in an urban and eclectic neighborhood at the nexus of DC, Silver Spring and Takoma Park. Two Redline Metro stations are one-mile away--Takoma & Silver Spring. Our community is family oriented and quiet but with all the urban resources you need to easily shop, dine-out, see a film and more, many are within walking distance. We are also near a tranquil, woodsy park with a lovely hike/bike/jog trail along a creek.
We are one mile from 2 Metro stations and one-half block from a bus that will take you to both stations. The Takoma Station is in DC and cheaper if you're coming from that direction. Silver Spring is the first station in MD from DC and convenient to shops and restaurants. Also the neighborhood is very bike/walkable.
Other Things to Note
We have 2 cats, so if you are allergic, this is not the place for you. If you are traveling with a pet, your request will be thoughtfully considered and if accepted, please add an additional guest to your booking.
Be courteous and respectful of other guests, us and our home. Otherwise we prefer to not have to enforce "rules." Universal acts of kindness, consideration and cooperation by hosts and guests are key to a successful home-stay experience.
