About this listing
Available while we are away for work. Very big stylish residential loft in commercial/industrial building in the heart of the plateau! About 40% of the building's spaces are residential lofts, the rest are studios for artists and musicians. Our loft is located in the Plateau, the area in Montreal with the most interesting clubs, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Also walking distance to Downtown, the Old Port, McGill University, Parc Mont Royal, Rue St. Denis, Rue Prince Arthur and much more. Located on the corner of Pine and St. Laurent, a busy intersection with a lot of restaurants and clubs, also a 24/h grocery store across the street. A lot of public transit nearby.
The Loft has two closed bedrooms and a huge living area (dining room, living room combined, kitchen in its own area but still part of main room) and full bathroom. The whole loft is 1500 square feet. Very bright, one whole wall is windows. We have an artificial wood burning stove that looks real and is a very strong heater.
Please note that if you do not pay extra for the second bedroom, it will be locked.
Things provided include:
Coded entry system (no key needed)
Queen size bed with bedding and sheets
High speed Internet (wifi)
Things that have changed:
We no longer have the pinball machines
We have a different couch that replaced the sectional
$97/night for one bedroom (2 people), $30/night per person for the second room.
This is a great place to stay in an amazing and fun area of Montreal!
By the way, the photo of me is not taken at my place, it's my sister's house in the country.
We require a $300 safety deposit that Airbnb deals with in the event we decide to keep it. That rarely happens and has only in the past due to guests having parties. Our biggest house rule, NO PARTIES!!! Our place is great for them and it's tempting but they are not allowed. We also ask for an additional $50 cleaning fee that goes to the cleaner we hire after you leave (we pay her $75).
Please water our5 plants if you're there for more than a week. Thanks!
I really really enjoyed Emily's loft. Right away, 'chez moi' and it was lovely coming home to everyday. It was clean and had everything I could want for cooking easily. I felt very safe even though it is a eventful area. the location was also perfect. I used the local shops and easy walking access to St. Denis and downtown. I would definitely recommend the loft to anyone looking for a great getaway in Montreal. :)
We had a great time at the loft. Everything came as advertised. It's in a great location, near the park and right next to the main drag on St. Laurent.
We had a great time at the loft. It's very funky and a great experience, a real blast from the past.
The location is perfect for getting about the plateau and very safe.
My godchildren came to visit and had a wonderful time exploring and running around they could make all the noise they wanted. They loved it.
Emily's loft was arguably the best Airbnb I've ever stayed in. It was meticulously decorated and satisfied our every need. We felt comfortable using the kitchen every morning, thanks to the large number of supplies available. The bed was very comfortable and the rest of the loft was extremely spacious. We're so glad we were able to explore the Plateau neighborhood. There aren't too many "touristy" things around, which forced us to explore a hip and independent part of the city we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. Schwartz' Deli is right around the corner, as is a number of other culinary delights. It is about a 10-15 minute walk downhill to all of the major attractions in the city, and a stones throw away from McGill. It is almost not worth mentioning, but the lack of AC was the only downside, especially during a hot and humid July weekend. I'd imagine it is not an issue almost any other weekend in Quebec. All in all, I'd highly recommend staying at Emily's loft!
We absolutely loved our stay at Emily's loft. The space was huge, clean, and beautiful. The location was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go - bars, restaurants, tamtams, jazz fest, old Montreal, wherever! Emily gave us all the info needed and was quick to respond to any questions before and during. We would definitely stay there again. and again.
Emily's flat was the perfect home base while exploring Montreal. It is just a few blocks from Mont Royal Park and metro stations and just steps away from many good places to eat and shop. Both beds were comfortable. The loft is just a few steps up from the street on the entry side, so it is easy to get in and out of with luggage, but it is on the back side of the building making the windows on the second floor which made it feel quite safe. The windows are also on a side street, not the main street, so the flat is fairly quiet for being basically right on a main road. We had a question about parking when we arrived and Emily answered right away. Another night, we had a late night issue with the second bedroom door lock. Emily replied right away and had the cleaner stop by the next morning to fix the issue. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Montreal.
Emily was so great! We never got to meet her, as I believe that she travels and is out of town a lot, but she left us detailed instructions on how to access the loft and was kind enough to put out maps, metro cards, lots of local know-how, and information on how to get around. I think the place looks just as cool as the pictures show (which is awesome!)! It is a beautiful open space with tall ceilings and big windows. The kitchen and bathroom had all we needed, and the bedroom was pleasant with a nice bed. There is a DJ set up with quite an impressive record collection (plus disco ball!). It is a fun, exciting, and creative living style. Please be aware that there are dance classes, music studio/practice space, and construction right outside the window when we were there. This means that it is definitely not a quiet get away, and if you sleep lightly, you should bring earplugs (we went across the street to purchase some for my wife to sleep well). But if you are looking for a unique place to stay that is in prime location to see the city and experience it's livelihood, then this is DEFINITELY the place! I would definitely go back, and Montreal is such a wonderful city! This place has character and life and was a joy to get the chance to stay in it.
