Interaction with Guests
Depends on the guests; we're pretty easy-going. We both work, so any interaction would depend on how much our at-home schedules overlap. We're happy to socialize or leave you alone, as you prefer - no problem either way.
Detroit Shoreway/Gordon Square is one of the hottest gentrifying neighborhoods in near-west Cleveland. Located along the Lake Erie Shore, Gordon Square is home to nationally-known Cleveland Public Theatre, the Capitol Cinema, eclectic restaurants, shops, and Edgewater Park.
The house is a 5-10 minute walk from the West 65th/Ecovillage rapid transit station with direct access to the airport and downtown, a short walk to major bus lines, and easy access to all major highways in and out of the city.
Other Things to Note
Cleveland's near-west neighborhoods are located 5-10 minutes from the heart of downtown, with direct access to Playhouse Square, major-league ballparks, the Convention Center, the Global Center for Health and Innovation, and Horseshoe Casino. Cleveland has a great restaurant scene, and many really good ones are not far away.
We both work full-time and are in bed by 11pm. We'd like the house calm and quiet after that. No smoking and no pets please. Street parking.
Scott and Cyril are AMAZING and can only be recommended. The accommodation is very clean, with a private spacious room and an amazing bed
Cyrile und Scott sind auf alle meine Wünsche eingegangen.
Die Nachbarschaft in diesem eco-village ist sehr nett!
We had a great experience at Cyril and Scott's and would recommend it to others. The house is beautiful and uniquely and lovingly decorated. The room we had on the third floor was very large and had good privacy. The bathroom had a gigantic shower with a rain shower head and good water pressure. We were able to keep our bikes in the safety of their garage. The pets were adorable but barely visible. And as my husband asked to point out specifically in the review, the mattress on our bed was really high quality compared to most places we've stayed at before, affording for a good night sleep.
On Saturday night I used ear plugs to sleep as I could hear some cars passing by outside, while my husband didn't find it necessary. Sunday night was quiet and I didn't need them to fall asleep.
The house is located very conveniently. We had bikes with us and could get to West Side Market area (which we deemed our favourite area in town) in about 10 minutes, and to downtown (Rock and Roll hall of fame in under 20 min). Cyril was very helpful with recommendation of what to see and where to eat. We enjoyed the Cultural gardens in particular, and found the brunch at Latitude around the corner really nice.
Cyril and Scott were perfect hosts and the accommodations were as advertised. They have a beautiful home with a very spacious upper floor for guests and a comfortable queen sized bed. The location was great - short walking distance to many funky new restaurants and markets sprouting in one of Cleveland's up and coming new sections just 10 minutes from downtown by car. Edgewater Park - a great lakeside destination was just a 15 minute walk on a beautiful day. We were proud to be their first-ever airbnb guests but they already acted as if they were old pro's. My son and I will return later this summer. I feel like we've found new friends.
About the Host, Cyril And Scott
We are easy-going people who value sustainable living and service to others. We've both traveled a good deal through North America and Europe, and now call Cleveland home. Cyril works as a real estate agent and is also a Reiki Master, and Scott is a professional actor and director, and a faculty member in the Conservatory of Music at Baldwin Wallace University. We're gardeners, urban farmers, and good neighbors, and will do our best to help you feel at home, whether that means including you in what we do, or leaving you to your own devices. Scott has working knowledge of French, Spanish and German, and Cyril is an amazing cook.
