Your own private room in manhattan. Close to the NYC subway, close to Metro North, and easy street parking.
Room is great for 3 people, but you are welcome to fit as many as you like in the room, I've had as many as 6 stay before.
Location. Location. Location.
Some travel times to different places across the city via public transit:
Times Square & Midtown: 20 minutes
Wall Street & Downtown: 30 minutes
Central Park: 10 minutes
JFK Airport: 60 minutes to 2 hours
LGA Airport: 35 minutes to 1.5 hours
EWR Airport: 1 hour
Port Authority & Penn Station: 40 minutes
Room is great for 3 people, but feel free to pack as many as you see fit! I've had guests bring yoga mats/sleeping pads/air mattresses in the past to add more sleeping surfaces. It is your room, use it as you like.
Answer to the two most common inquiry questions I get--
**Is the room is available? Yes, If you are able to select the days on my calendar, then those days are available.
**What is the price? On the calendar you will see the price of each day (which changes throughout the busy season and on the weekends). After you select your days, airbnb adds all those days up, and adds their fee. That total is what you pay to airbnb.
This is 1 out of 3 bedrooms in the apartment. If you are alone, a couple, or group of friends, this room can accommodate you guys easily! If you are a group of 3-6 people, you are welcome to make space as you see fit. The main bed is big enough to take 2 people easily. The other bed can fit 1 comfortably (squeeze another if you like).
When you arrive, you will have your own key to the apartment, to enter and leave whenever you want. Just make sure to lock the apartment door behind you whenever you come in or go out!
There is 1 bathroom shared amongst the 3 bedrooms. I, Lewis, will be around the house from time to time. If I am away at the time you rent the room, I will have a friend stay in the living room to let you into the apartment, give you keys, and show you around the house! We have a very large kitchen with all of the cooking supplies you would ever need, available for you to use. Please remember to clean up anything you use, after using it!
About the location: it is located at the corner of East 118th Street & 3rd Avenue in Manhattan, right by the 6 train station at 116th Street. The subway entrance is 2 blocks from the apartment.
The neighborhood is lively, well-lit, and very safe. There are supermarkets and deli's everywhere, many are 24-hours.
Central Park is at 110th Street and 5th Avenue, about a 10 minute walk away from the apartment! The Metropolitan and Guggenheim Museums are 4 subway stops away. Everything else downtown, you can use the subway 24 hours, and its right nearby!
A laundromat is right near the apartment as well.
Im currently in Medical School and in and out of the city frequently. If I am away I will have my housekeeper staying at the place to let you and and take care of anything you need. After booking I will put you in contact with her to coordinate the check-in /check-out times.

The place was exactly what we expected, very cozy and tidy. Bathrooms were fine and clean. I'd come back definitely. Maybe the only drawback it's that you have to go upstairs to the 4th floor so it can be a problem if you have too many suitcases.
Check in was a pain, housekeeper doesn't really keep the house, nothing was really clean (including my bed set), 1 shared bathroom for up to 10 people depending on occupancy, the place is livable but a little run down, and the neighborhood is sketchy. The host seemed like a nice guy who really tries to make it work but I had minimal interaction with him since he was OOT.
Overall, the place is like a hostel, and gets the job done, but for the conditions and location, it's overpriced. I wouldn't pay more than $25-30 a night.
The apartment is cleaned after each guest. Sometimes during a stay guests make a mess. Just need to let us know and the housekeeper will do an additional cleaning. Bed sets and towels are always clean.. The housekeeper can switch out during your stay too if you want new ones. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
The place was as they say! The room fit perfectly me and my too friends. I just have a little problem with the check in time but it's solved as soon as we talked, just make sure to agreed everything before. Lewis wasn't there but his housekeeper provided what we needed.
Nice and clean room. Lewis concern about my arrive (It was close the direct line of the subway because repair work). All clean.
Lewis answered right away to any messages we sent him. We got the keys right away by the housekeeper. The apartment was better than I expected. The room was clean, it was located next to the subway. The inconvenience were that the bathroom was not very clean and there is no living room and table and chairs. Otherwise it was nice.
