This is a gem of an apartment in central Rome and we had a great time staying here. The communication with the hosts was excellent and someone was waiting to let us in when we arrived. The location of the apartment is within walking distance to all the major sights and a stones throw away from the Trevi fountain.
The one negative was that the shower is very hard to use standing up as the ceiling is rather low in the bathroom, but aside from that we highly recommend this apartment.
Very nice apartment in the most central location in Rome. But it's quiet too. Great view of the city.
Anyone would be lucky to stay here.
We stayed in the flat for 4 nights. It is a beautiful, charming flat full of character. You get a real feeling of living in Rome’s historical residences. The building is 200 years old, there are original wooden beams on the ceiling and beautiful tiles. The rooms are good size, it is cosy with wonderful views. The roof is very special. Fantastic location, just a stone’s throw from Fontana di Trevi and 15 minutes walk from Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. We landed late at night but we were greeted warmly by Pietro when we arrived at about 1am. Pietro was super helpful, suggesting places to eat and ways to travel. He even called the next morning to see if everything is alright.
We'd love to stay there again.
We had a wonderful stay at the apartment. It managed to be peaceful whilst still being extremely central and close to restaurants and major sights. Pietro, who met us, was extremely helpful throughout our check in, and was available to answer a couple of questions we had during the stay.
The terrace is the main selling point of the apartment. It's wonderful to have some peace up there from the buzz of the city - should you need it of course!
Not enough words to qualify my stay beautiful place location perfect Emiliano so kind a dream . By far the best airnbnb. You are welcome to Paris anytime . Pierre
Apologies in advance, this is going to be lengthy. We communicated, and the hosts knew that we would be arriving late (after 23h) and departing late (after 20h) a few days later. I was told that we needed to pay an additional 35€ in cash upon arrival for our late check-in. We agreed to accept the host’s offer to arrange transportation from the airport to the apartment. As the host arranged our transportation for us, we made the incorrect assumption that we would be greeted for the key exchange upon arrival from the airport. We exited the taxi and rang the bell for the apartment. It was after midnight, and there were 2 girls waiting in the street with their suitcases wondering what to do. We didn’t have a cell phone number for the host, only a land line. So….we used our mobiles to attempt the international land line, several times, with no answer, no voicemail. We rang the apartment bell again. Finally, after waiting approximately 20 minutes or so – ringing the bell, looking around the neighbourhood, wondering where we would sleep that night; I finally located an email address and sent a message. I received a response saying that “Riccardo” was on his way. So….we waited… It was probably a total of 45 minutes from the taxi dropping us off to this guy arriving with a key to let us in. This was *not* a good beginning. The man who showed us up to the apartment was full of excuses for being late (apparently he was detained by the police), didn’t have my cell number and had a generally bad attitude. He didn’t seem to know the apartment at all. He pointed to obvious things to tell us, for example: This is the fridge, this is the light. Where shall we begin: There was a pull-out couch, however, there were no pillows, no bed sheets, no blankets or anything for that bed. There were dirty towels in the bathroom from the last visitor. There were old receipts in the living area from a previous visitor. There were several outlets that did not work. There were several windows that would not open. There were no shades in the front room where the pull-out bed was. I was greeted by the bright sun each morning. We were then told that (in addition to the 35€ in cash that I passed to this charming gentleman) that we would need to be out of the apartment with our luggage gone by early morning the day of our departure. This didn’t sound right to me, since I had explained to the host of our late flight, and there was no mention of another renter coming in the same day as us. I then received an email *the day before our departure* saying that yes, indeed we had to be vacated from the apartment and, we had to arrange storage for our luggage for the afternoon. The location is wonderful, everything is right within...
Firstly we need to apologize to Denise for what happened the night of her check-in. We are so deeply sorry for that. We promise that such a thing has never happened before and we have already made sure it won’t happen ever again.
We also would like to reply to some of the other Denise’s comments though. The flat is a two guests apartment with an additional sofa bed that of course can be used like an additional bed on request. Such a request has never been made and this is the reason why the only bed that Denise found ready upon her arrival was the one in the bedroom (the only one that was supposed to be made according to the standard setting of the apartment).
We also provided Denise with two cell phones numbers of ours to make sure she could contact us for anything she might need. We wrote those numbers in one of our messages during the conversation we had on Airbnb.
About the shades… we never had any complaint about them before. The windows can totally be opened and they worked perfectly at the time. Those in the living room are particular though, and there is a chance that Denise couldn’t find the way to open them. All of them are provided with curtains.
About the late check-out. When Denise reserved the apartment we told her that currently we didn’t have other guests checking in on the day of her departure at the time, but that we might have received a request later. One day before Denise was supposed to leave we received a request of reservation and we accepted it. After doing that we promptly notified it to Denise. We knew that Denise had a late flight back home, and yet we needed some time to clean the apartment. We made any possible efforts and we told her that at any rate she could leave the luggage in the apartment until 13:30 (1:30 pm), but that we had to ask her to leave the apartment at 11 (the standard check-in time). Like we said, Denise was informed that such a thing might have occurred.
We thank Denise for having chosen us. Her friend and her has been great guests and we really appreciated their kindness and patience.
All the best,
Emiliano and Maria
As per the description (though the pictures make it appear bigger), nice cosy place, great location. A good experience
Only one small detail, toilet seat was broken. Soeone spotted it on my arrival and said they would change it but didńt happen when we stayed 6 night...
