About this listing
Amsterdam is all about location and here you find yourself in the heart of historical district De Pijp in my lovely, light and fully equipped apartment. Walk or bike everywhere exciting on your free bikes and enjoy Amsterdam like a true local.
Amsterdam is all about location and here you find yourself in the heart of historical district De Pijp and yet you stay in a 50m2 lovely, light, fully equipped and quiet apartment.
Just around the corner are the famous and daily Albert Cuijpmarkt, the unique shops, restaurants, coffee corners, bars, clubs, the beautiful Sarphatipark and the river Amstel for the best sunny stroll in Amsterdam.
The sunny apartment is on the second floor (stairs) in a typical Amsterdam house. It's perfect for singles or couples. You will find everything to your convenience: a soft double bed, a large table, wifi, cable tv, a rainshower, a fully equipped kitchen and a sunny balcony from 8 am till 3 pm.
You can use my 2 typical Amsterdam bikes to explore Amsterdam the best way. A great part of central Amsterdam is around the corner and at walking distance, and a lot of trams stop just beside the apartment, which will bring you everywhere. Trainstation Amsterdam Amstel is very nearby.
If you stay here you will be in the middle of all good and exciting Amsterdam has to offer and stay in a quiet and cozy place.
Treat my home and neighbors like your own, respect my personal belongings and have a little chat with Mr. Cactus.
It's my home, which means I really live there :)
- Absolutely no smoking in the house and hallways. The balcony is a perfect smoking spot with a smoking view and a pink smoking ashtray.
- Leave my personal belongings and stuff to me, there's already a lot of things for you to use and play with.
- I am very much in love with my cactus. Please do not water it or move it. He likes a nice daily chat though.
My apartment is on the second floor of a typical Amsterdam house and me and my neighbors made friendly agreements on a few things which I expect my guests to follow:
- No loud music. Use you headphone and there's plenty of bars and clubs in the neighborhood to rock and dance away.
- Keep the hallway free of stuff and clean.
- Lock the front door.
- Speak easy on the stairs and on the balcony after midnight.
My neighbors are the best in the world, so be nice to hem if you meet them. Hugs are welcome but not necessary.
Thank you so much for living in my place like a local and comply to the few houserulez.
Kim wasn't there to show me around her cute place, but her neighbor was. Her neighbor was so welcoming and even was so kind to recommend places to visit in Amsterdam, customary foods to eat, and little tidbits about the city. I felt very welcome in Kim's home. The neighborhood is great; lively, but quiet, and located well within walking distance to the museums and the market.
I would definitely visit Amsterdam again, and would utilize Kim's place too. Thanks for a wonderful time in Amsterdam!
Whilst Kim wasn't around during our arrival, she left us in good hands with her friend Monique.
The apartment is in a very convenient neighbourhood and is walking/biking distance to most of the interesting spots around De Pijp. The kitchen and bathroom are also well supplied with basic supplies so if you happen to run out of shampoo or need coffee before you head out, they're available. :-)
Kim's place looks exactly how it does in the photos. The only challenge we had (and it's a common feature of typical Amsterdam apartments) are the stairs - they are steep and narrow - a challenge if you're lugging around heavy/big luggage.
My friend and I absolutely loved staying at Kim's place during our three day stay in Amsterdam. Although we unfortunately didn't meet Kim because she was out of town, her friend watched our flight to see what time we would be arriving, and then met us outside the apartment. She showed us around the place, which is beautiful, and gave us an extremely helpful map and tips on how to get around in Amsterdam. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed to make us feel at home including an espresso machine and a very comfortable bed. The location was ideal--it was in a quiet neighborhood, but also a two-minute walk to the tram station, a five minute walk to the longest market in Europe, and also walkable to many other attractions such as the Van Gogh museum and the Heineken Experience. We could not have been more pleased with our experience with Kim and recommend that any two people visiting Amdterdam stay in her apartment!

About the Host, Kim
I live in Amsterdam and work as a freelancer in online marketing strategy for companies around the world. I love to travel, discover new places and meet new people. I did a lot of home exchanges in the past years and am getting slightly hooked on AirBnB now. It's a great compliment when people feel at home and have a great time in my own home.
I'll always take care of your place like it's my own.
