The location was perfect. Very quiet. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was great. You will find this B and B is a great value. My wife and I have already talked about our return visit. The maps make it look like it is a long way out. The location is less than a 10 min drive from the visitor center in downtown Charleston!
A friend and I went for the Historical Homes and Gardens. Fortunately, we found Wenche and her husband, Wyatt. The price is excellent, the location is convenient to everything, close to the historic district, AND, they are great hosts. Great directions and recommendations, plus Wenche is glad to get you into a restaurant through her connections! She enjoys the role of hostess, has great suggestions about how to plan the things you want to do. Although the house looks charmingly older, it is newer construction, buildt to be a B&B, and it functions wonderfully that way; you can tell how much fun she had decorating her home. We would love to return and highly recommend the B&B.
Marvelous! Wonderful! Great place to stay. Wenche was able to direct us to the best eateries and points of interest. The restaurant she told us about ... we would never have found it. Tucked away from the maddening crowds. Best seafood ever! Then Wyatt ... upon arrival he singlehandedly brought our heavy suitcases upstairs for us. We WILL stay here again.
My husband & I stayed with Wenche and Wyatt for 3 nights recently. They are both wonderful hosts! Upon arrival, Wyatt immediately greeted us and insisted on carrying our bags upstairs, which I thought was nice. The bathroom was clean & was stocked with plenty of towels and extra toiletries, and the bedroom was both clean and very cozy.
Each morning, Wenche had a continental breakfast waiting for us with fruit, yogurt, tea or coffee, and a variety of pastries. On our last day she also made a delicious cake, which I tried to resist but in the end could not because it smelled too good.
Wenche knows a great deal about Charleston. She'd ask us about our itinerary each day, and she gave us lots of valuable information about directions, good eating places, etc. She even outlined on a map the most efficient route to all our destinations.
All in all we had a wonderful time at the Fox B&B. I only regret that we booked a couple of our nights elsewhere in town.. if I had known how much I would love this place, we would have stayed here the whole time. Will definitely be coming back here if we visit Charleston again!
We had an absolute fantast time at Wenche's B&B. This was our first stay at a B&B and we were a little nervous and wasn't quite sure what to expect. Wenche (we pronounced as Veeeenka - lol have to add the southern drawl to it) was a excellent host and we could not have asked for a better stay. The bed was so comfy - I didn't want to get up on the last day. The breakfast that we had each morning was delicious! Eggs, cheeses, meats, tomatoes, pastries, and even an awesome coffee cake. She made us feel so at home - I honestly felt like I was staying with a family. She had great recommendations and even had a map for us. We booked the green room for ourselves and some friends of ours had the red room. I just can't say enough good things about our experience with Wenche. Let's just say that we will definitely be back - and that should speak for itself! :)
We enjoyed a lovely stay with Wenche and Wyatt. The house was decorated with care and you could tell she loved making her visitors happy! The rooms were very comfortable and clean. She had little extras in the bathroom, in case you forgot anything. Wenche made a tasty breakfast including some European touches like meat, cheese and tomatoes. She and her husband recommended two restaurants that we just loved! For seafood in town AND on the beach, Coda del Peche. Amazing! And in downtown Charleston, SNOB for a nice variety of seasonal American dishes. You will be very happy with your stay here in the quiet Mt. Pleasant home. Only a quick drive into downtown Charleston.
It was a great stay. Love all the art works and warm hospitality. Really really comfortable place :)
We had a lovely time with Wenche and Wyatt. The food was fantastic and they were wonderful hosts. We look forward to seeing them again the next time we are in the Charleston area. The location was also ideal, as it was very close to many restaurants and attractions, but not in the midst of the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Wenche and Wyatt keep an immaculate, very warmly decorated home, nested among dense trees where friendly animals frolic throughout the day. I felt welcomed staying there. The location is conveniently situated about 3 miles from downtown, away from the busyness and noise. From the house, one can easily access other nearby destinations like the Boone Hall Plantation and the Isle of Palms Beach. And one can drive to other destinations bypassing the downtown traffic. Both are excellent hosts, mindful of my needs and such a pleasure to speak with. They take the time to converse with their guests at the beginning and the end of the day. And that has now made me a fan of Norway, which I would someday like to visit. Wenche was quite helpful at recommending daily itinerary activities, especially since the weather was not quite cooperating when I visited. And though she did not have to, Wenche prepared hot breakfasts for me that were well-presented and absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend their home as future lodging to my friends.
Our time with Wenche and Wyatt was wonderful. Their house is superb; loved the fabulous décor. The location and availability of access is perfect for anywhere you want to be and do. It is a very special place to relax, get away and meet new friends. Our evening and morning conversations were greatly enjoyed. The generous breakfast was elegant and tasty. It was our first time in Charleston, but Wenche was able to help provide us with a full day of plans.
