Aquin made us feel very welcome -- she sent us a lot of information on the apartment, which made it very easy to find and get around. She had a folder prepared full of relevant information that we were able to use throughout our trip. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated -- albeit small (but such is expected in Hong Kong). Where this apartment really shined is in its location. Steps away from the mid-level escalator in SoHo, it was a quick walk to not only countless restaurants and bars but also the subway station.
The flat was exactly as we expected from the photos and description. It is literally a few steps off the mid-level escalator, which was convenient when arriving via the airport express to Hong Kong station. The street outside the apartment building is actually a pedestrian street meaning there are many places to eat and drink on your doorstep. The communication with the host was efficient and the arrival instructions were very thorough making finding the flat a breeze. For the two of us the flat was the perfect alternative to a small hotel room, and we would happily stay there again.
location is great. Aquin offers clear guidelines with maps of different ways to get to her apartment before our trip and that help a lot. the apartment is clean, cozy, warm lighting and convenient for families. we will definitely choose again when traveling to HK.
The stay at Aquin's place was very lovely for my friend and I during our one night there. The apartment was very cozy and the size was just right for two of us girls. All basic amenities were provided and the orientation to the apartment was very clearly presented. Aquin was also kind enough to give us clear instructions for getting to the apartment.
The location was great for us because we planned for a night out on our last night in HK and it was walking distance to a number of very nice bars and LKF.
Downside of the location would be that it is along the side of a slope/escalator that is not accessible by car - it is a short but exhausting (because of the luggages) walk up a very steep slope. Because the slopes are very steep and the escalator was not up-riding at that time of the day, we had quite a bit of trouble lugging our luggages up and down the slope when we checked in and out.
Another minor downside is that because apartment is on the second level, the street is directly visible from the window (and so is the apartment from the outside). There is a little lack of privacy there, but if you remember to draw the curtains, that will not be a big problem.
Otherwise, it's a great location if you're looking to explore the area (esp for the nightlife)!!
The apartment is located in a perfect location. Everything is nearby. Aquin was an excellent host, we had a problem with the TV on the first day, she helped us to solve the problem within one day.

Hong Kong is home by way of New York and Bangalore. We are avid travelers and have been to over 60+countries, which in part is why we enjoy hosting fellow travelers. In 2010 we embarked on an ambitious trip with our then 18 month old son, covering 23 countries in 200 days on an overland journey by train from Turkey to Singapore. We moved to Hong Kong on work in 2010 and have loved our few years here. We now have 2 young boys who continue to troop around the world with us. I freelance as a travel writer and these apartments bring together my personal passion for design and travel.
