My husband, 9 month old daughter and I stayed at Aquin's flat for 6 days, took a short side trip to Singapore, then stayed at her other flat (same building) for another 4 days. The apartment is lovely, clean and is walking distance from cool shops, restaurants and the mtr. Aquin thoughtfully left all the info we might need about the apartment and the surrounding neighbourhood. It was surprisingly quiet at night and had no problems sleeping. For those of you traveling with kids. This area of HK isn't conducive for strollers. The sidewalks are steep and narrow and you cant take the stroller on the escalators. We took our put our daughter in a carrier instead. I would definitely stay here next time we're in HK.
We stayed for 5 nights at the end of February/early March. The apartment is small (but a typical size for HK) but comfortable and has everything you need for a short stay - functional and reasonably well equipped kitchen, lovely hot shower, comfortable beds.
It is located right next to the 'mid level' escalator system so makes it really easy to travel to and from the Central train station and MTR. We were joined for 3 nights by our son (in his 20s) who slept very comfortably on the pull out bed.
The area is very busy at the weekend with revellers so don't expect a quiet time, especially as the apartment is on the 1st floor and therefore close to the action. But on the other hand, you don't have far to go for buzzing bars and restaurants.
The only problem we had, which is beyond the control of the owners, is that the building next door was being pulled down. So it was very noisy indeed with pneumatic drills and much banging from around 8 am to 5.30pm weekdays and Saturday, meaning no lie-ins and we could not stay in during the day. Best to check on progress before you book especially if you are travelling with a young child.
Communications and help from the owner was excellent. We would definitely consider staying there again.
Terry, Thank you for that helpful and honest review.
An update for future guests: The building next door is being torn down. According to the HK Environmental Dept', construction is permitted from 7am - 7pm (Monday to Saturday). The contractor has assured us construction WILL BE LIMITED TO *8:30am - 5:30pm*. If you have any concerns or questions about this, please do reach out to us. We are in communication with the contractors through our Buildings Owners Association to ensure that tenant's concerns are heard.
The flat was just as described - very clean and wonderfully accessible even with a cane (due to a sports injury a couple of weeks before). There were restaurants up, down and sideways open up to the wee hours. It was near the subway stations and several shopping centers. We never had to take a cab. I would stay here again ... My husband and I loved it.
It was my first booking with Airbnb and everything just turned out great! Aquin's apartment is clean, bright and well equiped just as describe in the listing and pictures. Conveniently located right besides the escalator to mid-level at Soho. Pubs, bars and restaurants all within walking distance, Lan Kwai Fong is only 5-10 min walking distance away. Those of you who enjoy a YUPPI contemporary lifestyle, this will be a perfect stay for you!
This is my first time to use Airbnb and Aquin really helped me a lot. The room is clean and bright. also the location is excellent.
The house is clean and beautiful, which is suitable for us to take a good rest after a long day of walk! The price is good when compared with the hotel at the same peak season
I would definitely love to stay again at Aquin's apartment if I visit Hongkong. It is very clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The most importantly Aquin gave her heart to every single piece of her items in the apartment which means big honor to her guests. I loved all the photographs which were taken by her and little pieces of art. The location is great specially for those who love the Hongkong urban life, multinational surrounding, different types of restaurant, pub and also art. I stayed there with my family and kids, there was nothing difficult even it was a busy street. By the time you sleep, you wouldn't hear something noisy. Aquin also helped me a lot while i had a little problem with my online booking and accessing into the website while travelling busy and with my family. Aquin, thanks very much for everything!
It's so nice. Just looks like the pics. The location is very good, near the bars and easy to get fun. We stay at the place for four nights,it gives us a very wonderful journey. We like this place , we like Aquin. We will choose the place again next time❤️❤️
I stayed at Aquin's place for one week in January, and her apartment was clean, centrally located, well equipped and exactly as described. Aquin was also very responsive and helpful throughout my stay. I will definitely stay here again during my next visit to HK. Thanks Aquin!
Everything regarding the stay was wonderful. Aquin provided detailed directions and helpful information about local attractions. The apartment itself was cozy and just as you see in the photos. I would gladly stay at Aquin's next time I am in Hong Kong!
