The studio is a self-contained bedsit in a beautiful rural Kilkenny location. If you're looking for a place to retreat to from the hustle and bustle of towns, then this is your place.

The space

The Studio is beautifully decorated and spacious. This is a room with soul!

Guests have access to the garden and entire farm if you feel intrepid enough to walk down by the stream and up through the trees and fields. We also have a new building which is a lovely place to do some morning yoga, drink your tea while looking at he view, or play some table-tennis!

We enjoy meeting people and hearing about their travels, but we are very respectful of privacy. We will welcome you and then leave you to make yourself at home. We are open to chats if the opportunity presents itself.

Kilkenny is fairly close however, so if you need some more action you can always go there for entertainment and eateries. Kilkenny is 20 minutes drive away. If you are needing an evening meal, we recommend you either bring some provisions or go into Kilkenny. I will leave you some breakfast provisions.

There is no near-by public transport. You need a car!

One of the most amazing place in which we stayed. Kate and her family was very nice to us (even brought us delicious homemade treats to have breakfast with) and the house was cozy, well equipped and very comfortable (the bed is amazing). We hope to come back eventually, because we fell in love with the place (and the super cute animals - Zelda we'll miss you).

This tucked away Studio is a lovely quiet hideaway, great for a rural getaway. It is small but comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay there. It is not far from very good roads to the coast and to lots of interesting local places to visit.

Charming home with incredible hosts. Kate made us terrific bread and showed us the local little walk. The pets are super sweet.

If you're looking to escape the Spanish heat by finding an idyllic location in the Irish countryside, this is one of the places to do so. Lovely stay, with lovely hosts. One of the best things for me in Ireland with AirBnB is cooking where I am staying with local foods. There was fresh made bread waiting for us, with Irish made butter. There was also cucumber and tomato left from a previous guest. The bread, with rashers and local eggs (chickens were laying but birds were eating) made for one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. You can sit outside or in, watch the chickens who escaped wander past, enjoy the relative seclusion and the country sides. Just a nice place to relax. The goats and sheep were fun to look at and have close by. The dogs and cat were super friendly, but if not a fan, the host can keep them a bit. Whistle is awesome, soft, friendly and a cat princess. Not a dog person but I liked playing fetch with the one as it added to the ambiance. High speed wireless internet meant that I could take a business call on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) without any problems. Hosts also recommended the Carlow Farmer's Market on the way to our next destination. This was a great find as the eggs we got from there turned out to be super delicious. I'd recommend to others. Do be prepared for driving rural country unmarked roads if going there.

This place is fantastic! From the beautiful country setting, to the lovely animals, you won't regret staying here. Kate and James are fantastic hosts (James came to help us change a flat!). The fresh bread and farm treats were well appreciated.

Kate's studio is such a lovely, warm and comfortable place surrounded by a lovely farm and landscape. We felt very welcome and well cared for. We also enjoyed the convenience to Kilkenny and all that has to offer. Highly recommended.

Kate and James' house was a definite highlight of our trip. The scenery is beautiful on their property and coupled with their friendliness and welcoming atmosphere, we could not have asked for a better place to stay! They offer all of the amenities and are just fantastic!

Kate User ProfileKate is a superhost.

I am a musician who works with a children's theatre company and teaches the fiddle to kids. I grow flowers and vegetables in abundance! I also love yoga and walking. I live with my husband James, and son Teige. James is a conservation consultant for old buildings and he has renovated several houses beautifully, including our own. Teige is 12 and is a great musician and swimmer.
