About this listing
Spacious first floor 2 bedroom apartment perfectly located for sightseeing, transport and shopping. Fully self contained with an eat in kitchen. The apartment is large with 2 separate bedrooms to the living area. The second bedroom is the 'meditation room and library' photo where we have 2 collapsible single beds separate to the library area. The apartment is on the first floor with no lift.
Central to all that Athens has to offer with easy access to transport, including Monastiraki station, buses and taxis. Convenient to cafes and restaurants with a cafe/bar opposite serving home made local food and authentic Greek coffee and wine, among many other things... or just grab a takeaway and sit on your balcony and watch the Athens activity go by. The apartment block is a modernized Art Deco four storey apartment block central to the Plakka, the markets, museums and Evripidou Street, the designers' shopping strip. You'll just love being totally in the thick of it all!
Please treat the place with respect, as you would your own home. It is a great apartment so please look after it as well.
Un appartement spacieux, idéalement situé pour découvrir Athènes. Une hôte attentive et disponible. Nous avons, avec les enfants, passés un agréable séjour chez Lenka et Tamara
Lenka was an excellent communicator and Tamara was lovely to show us into the apartment. The apartment is really large and very clean. Nice. The lack of air-conditioning made it difficult to sleep or hang out in the apartment.
Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement et l'appartement été trés spacieux, trés propre trés agréable et trés bien placé dans un super quartier d'athénes!!! Un endroit à retenir absolument!!!
Overall I enjoyed my stay in Lenka's apartment. It was very spacious and in a charming older building. Perfect for me and my grown son to have separate bedrooms and a kitchen. It's in a great location right off of a pedestrian street with lovely cafés.
I personally found it difficult to sleep without air conditioning even though it wasn't extreme hot in Athens at the time. They do provide many fans. To sleep I needed to close all the wooden blinds and windows to block lights and noise. (Im not a big city girl!)
I loved the very high quality mattress, full kitchen, washer and feel of the space.
We really loved our stay in Lenka & Tamara's place. It was very clean, very well equiped and very nicely furnished. The good surprise was the size of the rooms : really big and spacious with and XL bed in the main bedroom. Though the flat has no air conditionning, it was cool enough thanks to the numerous fans.
The location is also perfect : very close to everything (pedestrian shopping street, Plaka, Acropolis) so it's possible to come down for an hour or two, come back to the flat to rest and get away from the heat and got out again later when it's cooler.
Last good point : the very good and very cheap place to eat downstairs, at the corner of the street.
This apartment was even bigger than we thought it would be, and Tamara had yogurt, milk and juice in the fridge for us. The washer and dryer were also a treat! The location is excellent - right in the middle of a terrific area but not right on the busiest streets. There are excellent restaurants and bars just a block away. It was a little tricky for the taxi to find the location, so public transportation is probably the best way to access the space. My adult children noted that there's an excellent CD selection, and I enjoyed the spare guide books left from previous visitors.
Tamara was quick to respond to our texts and calls. We found the apartment just as expected, in the perfect location for us, with yogurt waiting in the frig -- just the thing my pregnant daughter craved!
The directions and notes on the apartment and neighborhood were all accurate and thoughtful. We couldn't be happier with our stay! There was an electrical malfunction, and Tamara located an electrician on a Saturday afternoon who came and repaired things promptly. Much appreciated!
About the Host, Lenka & Tamara
Tamara and I have been friends for a number of years. We both run our own businesses. Mine is in interior design and Tamara teaches sewing. We both love the beach and being at opposite ends of the hemisphere when I’m swimming Tamara is in a woolen coat and when Tamara is swimming I’m in my neck to knees. In Tamara’s spare time you’ll find her frolicking on one of Athens’ beautiful beaches. If you are lucky she may even share with you her special swimming spots!
