We stayed there for 4 nights, and here our comments listed under, good, bad and need improvements.
a -- good
1.the location is actually in former east berlin [I am not sure if it can be considered “central”]. public transportation is easily accessible. neighborhood is fine on one side, but taking turn on another side you get graffiti written buildings, and not a nice impression.
2.bed coverings and pillows were very comfortable.
3. we were told to call 24/7 if need to call.
b -- bad
(website hidden) not expect to get an email communication/reply from the listed owner. however, in my 3 calls to the number, a friend of owner answered. I was not sure if this is due to language problem. seems replying to email an easy thing, but do not wait for a reply.
1.linens and towels had a very strong scent of lavender. the first night we could not sleep from the strong odor, even though the scent was potentially from a detergent.
2.seems overpriced for the period we stayed.
3.light switch in the bathroom must be fixed. as is, a tall person must reach the light to turn on.
c -- need improvement
1.leave some maps [free from the tourist office], and highlight the location of the building [yes, maps are still very useful]. a map could help with getting the info from the “Fodor “ guide on shelf.
2.provide good info for getting to the airport. I am glad that we learned on our own to take a bus to the airport, instead of a very expensive taxi.
3.please consider allergy issues with scented detergent ad cleaning products.
Very nice flat in a very nice area. Highly recommended.
Although, I never actually met S. Kjel, the communication with him was great. The space was close to everything and although there was confusion about my departure date, he did everything he could to remedy the situation (which was my mistake). The gentleman he had running the property for him was nice and easy to talk to as well.
Kjel's apartment is very clean and well-located (always the first two things I look out for!). Many shops are just a short walk away and there is a great bakery just across the street where we enjoyed our breakfast. I have to mention that checking in was a little rough since this was my experience (there seemed to be some miscommunication with Peter) so we had to wait awhile, but once we were checked in all was good. I don't think this happens frequently/at all, reading the other reviews, so not to worry. (Also Peter is a nice, friendly guy!) All in all, good value for money. :)
This apartment was perfect for or stay in Berlin. It is in the centre of Mitte and walking distance to the river and Alexanderplatz. The apartment itself is minimalist and clean- very comfortable and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again on out next visit to Berlin.
The apartment itself is very basic, but probably worth the money.
Pros: location is perfect - Mitte with all its shops, bars and cafes is around the corner, metro station is within 1 minute. Check-in was smooth and easy. The flat is clean and has almost everything you may need for a short stay.
Cons: it's really basic, don't expect even shower gel. The sheets need to be replaced, they as old the TV.
Overall good experience, recommended for short trips.
Nice apartment, in Berlin. Super clean. recommended
We had a nice stay in lovely Berlin. The apartment is good located near subway, busses and trams. Plenty of room for us all (we were 3 persons). We were professionally and polite received by Carmen.
All in all, a good impression of the flat and the (website hidden) regards Kim Jensen and family (Denmark)
I enjoyed my stay in Kjel's apartment in Berlin! The apartment is located in my favorite part of Berlin, close to Rosenthal Platz, so lively!! The apartment was also super cozy. I met Peter at check-in and everything went so smoothly! Thanks Kjel and Peter for the lovely (email hidden) and in Berlin!
Great apt, super close to multiple U stops, right in the middle of nightlight of various kinds and great shopping. Everything went smooth, not much more to say.
