  • We really liked Eva's home. Very artsy and eco-friendly. Eva was very kind, giving us tips on what to visit in Tucson. We also had a crush on Frida (her cute little dog).

  • La Estancia was the perfect rental for our group. The rooms were great and our hosts were gracious. I especially liked having access to their Arizona room which gave me the space to check up on email and read comfortably in the morning. The water features were particularly charming as well. Thanks guys!

  • Our hosts were lovely. The property was beautiful and peaceful. Despite the shared residence we felt complete privacy. I would recommend La Estancia to anyone traveling to Tucson who is looking for a place that is centrally located but away from the hustle.

  • Lovely place, very convent location. Friendly Freida reminded us of our critters we left at home. Eva made fresh chocolate chip cookies for us. Doesn't get any better than that! Could use black out shades in the bedroom. The sun comes pearly and BRIGHT!

  • Eva's place is beautiful, colorful, and tranquil. She and Andrew made my family of three feel welcome and at home. We loved the sound of running water from the fish pools at night, and the use of the Arizona room. We recommend this stay with no reservations and complete enthusiasm!

  • La Estancia was a great place to stay for the Gem and Mineral Show. We were really close to downtown and the University. Eva and Andrew were extremely nice people and very helpful with tips. The place was very comfortable and serene. We really enjoyed our time there and it felt like home away from home. Thanks a lot.

    Response from Eva:

BTW Jeff, I recall that you were concerned about our mountain of organic material going to the city. I just wanted you to rest assured that Brush and Bulky days organic material does not end up in a landfill with regular garbage, but rather, is composted (Christmas trees also) and sold to landscapers.

  • An absolutely lovely accommodation. The best airbnb I've stayed in yet. The hosts were so welcoming, as was their sweet pooch Frida!

I teach Latin American film at the University of Arizona. I love what I teach, my Wildcats, writing, researching, traveling, art and music. I can't live without sunshine, my bicycle, our dog, eating great food and the Catalina Mountains. We have been living in Tucson for nine years, and I'm thankful for every minute of it. I love to share our desert home! As hosts: our family consists of me, Andrew and Frida (la Chihuahua). While I run our Airbnb, we are all on board when it comes to welcoming guests. We’re laid-back, and love to chill at home, but sometimes we get busy and aren’t around much. That said, we always make time to give recommendations—just ask! As guests: we travel light and often, discovering the unique character of each place—including everything that is good; no matter how simple or small.
