Modern upgrades to old farmhouse. Everything was clean and nice. Great location in the countryside only 5 minutes from the large town of Sarlat. Perfect base for exploring the Dordogne.

Beautiful and charming country home! We just completed a 24 day European vacation through Italy and France, and of the 5 homes we stayed in, this was our favorite. The home is even more charming than the photos indicate. The location is very serene and beautiful, and only a few minutes from Sarlat by car. The host communicated with us very well, both before and during our stay. His colleagues, a very charming and friendly local couple, greeted us upon arrival, and immediately made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this home. We would definitely stay there again if we ever had the chance.

We had a great time at this nicely renovated home. Christophe responded quickly to all questions. Mr. Pons met us at the house with keys and a tour of the house. His English is limited, but certainly adequate for us non-French speakers. The house is very centrally located for the many sights and activities of the Dordogne. Finding the house with no house number is a bit of a trick, but it is easy to identify the house in (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps satellite view if you reference the photos on the Airbnb listing. Access to Sarlat is very quick and easy. Our overall experience with Christophe and his house was excellent.

The house is beautiful and the photos don't do it justice. Everything newly renovated. The house is very spacious and clean and had everything that we needed for a relaxing stay. The bedrooms are far apart from each other, giving the occupants of each room a lot of privacy. The house is on a small hill with nice views. We felt like we were in the countryside, but we were a short distance from Sarlat. It was quieter and cooler at the house than in the city, so it was nice to retire at the house and sit on the patio. We were there for our honeymoon and we did not meet Babtiste, however he greeted us with a nice note and a jar of homemade apricot preserves. We're not sure if he does this for people who are not on their honeymoons, but they were the best preserves we have ever had and it made us feel welcome. He had a local Sarlat couple meet us at the house to show us around. They were very friendly, and though they didn't speak a lot of English and we didn't speak French, we were still able to communicate and they gave us restaurant recommendations and tips for shopping at the weekend marche. Thank you Baptiste for a lovely stay at your home!

Maison Ecolo is a perfect sanctuary, close to Sarlat and many great sites of the region, but far enough away from the tourists to relax and experience the countryside. The setting is so peaceful, the house has everything you need, and Baptiste made sure we were all set up, even letting us harvest some zucchini from his garden. M. and Mme. Pons are the most gracious hosts, offering to meet us to drive us to the house and checking in to make sure everything was OK.

This home is magnificent! Our family of 5 (3 young children) were met by Mr and Mrs. Pons upon arrival. They speak a little English, and were very sweet and kind. The home is terrific. We stayed for 10 days and cooked many meals in the gourmet kitchen overlooking the property as our kids played outside. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and the second floor has a large open area with games and a sitting area. The bathroom looks like it's from a 5 star hotel! Baptiste did a great job combining the modern kitchen and bath with the feel of this historic farm house. The property is terrific, the views at night from the porch are incredible and the location is hard to beat. Just a few km from a grocery store and from the main interchanges to tour the dordogne. So happy we chose this place. If you want extra space, a peaceful feel, and a great home - this is it. The highlight of our 2 month travels in Europe! A few things if you come to the area: if you need a bike tag-a-long for kids - Joel at the BikeBus has plenty. The bike trail from castelnaud to Daglan is fantastic and easy with kids. Canoeing was a hit with our family and safe for our young kids. Consider the outfitter canoe dordogne in LaRoque. Sarlat and the other other villages of the valley are amazing, well marked when driving and easy to park in. We would recommend a GPS and good map of the area to make driving easier. Loved Dordogne, Sarlat was a perfect home base, this home could not have been better!

What had an amazing stay in this idyllic cottage in Sarlat. In this house you will feel nothing but relaxed and spoiled to be in such a beautiful location. We stayed here during late April with our two children (aged 6 and 5) and my mother. We all had such a lovely stay and enjoyed every bit of this house. We loved all of the available games, we listened to music on the great sound system, and we LOVED cooking in the extraordinary kitchen!! This is an extremely good value for such a lovely home and ideal location. In this house you have the chance to enjoy the Sarlat countyside yet the convenience of being just 2 minutes away from the city center. This is really the "best of both worlds" Baptiste could not be present for arrival since he was also traveling, but no worries there!! He was always very efficient with communication and we never felt worried at all. Not to mention that we were welcomed by his friends, a most adorable local couple who could not have made us feel more at home and welcome!! We really feel lucky to have met this amazing couple and plan to pay them a visit in the next year or two! We will definitely be back in this house on our next journey to the Dordogne and we recommend that you do the same!!
