We very much enjoyed staying at this flat. It is in a great location (just around the corner from the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz U bahn station) and close (walking distance or one stop on the U Bahn) to Alexanderplatz which is a major hub. It is very close to the hub bub of Berlin and yet on a very quiet peaceful street (only the birds are noisy!). There are a couple of GREAT little cafes on Max Beer Street which make FAB lunches of homemade quiche, sandwiches, salads and bakes and have the best coffee I have ever tasted as well as well as nearby bars and restaurants and a yummy schawarma take away place. The flat itself was exactly as shown in the photos and is very comfortable and roomy for 2 people and was very clean and tidy. The bed is sooooo comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped with cooker, oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, fridge, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans etc (not that we ate in at all but we easily could have if we had wanted to). And there was plenty of other provisions such as toilet roll, paper towels, washing up liquid, hand soap, etc - the stuff you need but don't want to have to buy. There is also a nice balcony which is perfect for drinking your morning coffee or your last beer of the night. It is a bit of a hike getting up to the flat (think its on the 3rd floor) but you get used to it. A couple of minor suggestions – when we got to Germany we texted from the airport and again from Alexanderplatz but did not get a reply to either text. We were late arriving and I was in a panic that my texts weren't getting through or that there might be a problem. Happily someone was waiting at the flat for us by the time we got there but if he could just reply to at least one of the texts, even if just to say "ok", it would be more reassuring. Otherwise he was very nice and helpful. Also possibly leaving some tourist information (city map, metro map etc) would be helpful and definitely a better map or word directions about how to get to Max Beer Street as we had a bit of trouble finding it from Rosa Luxumberg and people we stopped and asked for directions didn't know where it was. It would also be nice if a little welcome pack was left - milk, bread, butter or cake, biscuits etc as we got in very late after travelling for about 6 hrs and most places were closed. Finally, maybe provide a couple of extra pillows as the ones on the bed are very soft. But these are little things that did not take away at all from our very enjoyable stay at this lovely apartment. We would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone going to Berlin.
The description is entirely accurate. You really can't get more Mitte than this. The flat is spacious and quite (which is surprising given the closeness it is to Rosa-luxemburg straße). Highly recommend staying here, and will likely do so again myself.
Super Gastgeber, super Lage!
The neighbourhood was excellent and quiet during the night, which was difficult to find in Mitte. The proximity to cool shops, coffee, and the Hofbrauhaus meant we never felt the need to take public transit. This was a great home base for us to navigate Berlin.
I only contacted the host on the day of arrival (my fault) but they accommodated me and arranged that we had access in a short time.
The apartment was clean and well prepared and Wi-Fi worked fine. The position of the flat is really fantastic with restaurants and shops virtually on your doorstep and the museum area a short walk away.
This was my first airbnb experience and I must say I am very impressed.
s. kjel's colleague peter met me on time at the apartment. he was in a hurry but quite helpful.
the space itself is clean. the bed is probably the most comfortable i've had in weeks. one minor complaint about the flat itself when i visited is that the kitchen door doesn't close completely, and the window in the kitchen potentially gives the apartment block across a view into the bedroom/living area. also, the blinds in the bedroom itself aren't entirely covering.
overall, it's a good base for visiting and exploring Berlin.
