  • Mariel’s loft was the perfect place for my one-night stay in Madison, cozy, quaint, clean, and very conveniently located, just a few minutes drive from downtown and the campus. For a longer stay, it's set up with every convenience including a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. There is a small patio on the ground level and a balcony on the bedroom level. The arboretum across the road was a huge plus for me. Walking along the lovely trail by the lake was a serene and peaceful way to start the day. Mariel was always very prompt and thoughtful with her responses. I recommend her loft without hesitation.

  • Great little apt in a great location. It was myself and my 2 daughters and it worked perfectly for us. Security locked building which was really nice. Mariel was very responsive when I had questions. I would definitely stay here again!!!

  • Very uncomfortable stay. The apartment itself is nicely furnished and very cute upon first glance. However, it was not accommodating at all. My family and I arrived late in the evening and were greeted by a freezing space. What homeowner would turn heat completely off during a cold spell with negative temps is beyond me. Either way, it was obvious that the heat had been off for days and it took over a day and a half, with heat on full blast, to warm the place up. That was a COLD first night! The bed itself only had a thin comforter, not to mention that the sheets were DIRTY! Literally, there was body hair and dirt throughout the bed. I ended up removing and washing the sheets myself before bed - which was a huge pain. We have a baby and could not let her roam free because the carpets were disgusting and covered in dirt/crumbs/who-knows-what. There was no trash can in the bathroom. No wash cloths or enough towels (also looked dirty and had hair on them). The fire detector batteries had been removed; not reasurring considering the outdated heating system. Old, molding food in the fridge. Silverware looked dirty. NO WI-FI, Internet, or TV! No alarm clock - but no need - there is a pack of wolves living in the apartment above that will wake you up early am. In a search for the vacuum, I only found closets full of disheveled crap. Luckily, I did find a warm sleeping bag to use on the first night to spread over the bed to keep the frost out. Definitely not worth the amount charged per night. Get it together Mariel! YUCK.

  • Our stay in Mariel's loft was great. It was, as advertised, cozy and we really enjoyed using the record player that was set out in the living room area. The location was very convenient; we saw a movie, ate dinner downtown, and drove through a Christmas light display in a nearby park. Overall a great experience!

  • The host was kind and accommodating. She was able to provide good information about the area and made our stay very welcoming and comfortable. The one complaint that I had was the regarding the cleanliness of the bathroom. Both the shower and toilet needed a good cleaning upon our arrival. The location was nice, not far from city central, but quite and peaceful. The apartment itself is sparse. You will not find WiFi or a TV here so if you are looking for that, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a relaxing break from this fast paced life, you will be happy here.

  • Mariel's apartment was great for two people! Very cozy and lots of room - big kitchen, living room and bedroom. Mariel was always available. Clean towels and sheets! Everything went easily and smoothly!

  • This is a really cute apartment, just across the street from the arboretum. I didn't meet her in person, but Mariel was really easy to reach by email and text, and checkin was simple and quick. There is a little asian grocery market just across the street, and the kitchen was appointed with everything needed to make a quick meal. The bed is super-super-soft, and the place nicely lit with big windows.
