The space
Tiverton Four Corners Schoolhouse No.1 is owned and operated by Kristin and Adam of Sakonnet Farm & Stays. We have been hosting in Tiverton & Little Compton for 15+ years.

Step back in time while enjoying modern living at Old Tiverton Four Corners Schoolhouse No. 1, built in 1800 by the Manchester Family. This historic schoolhouse was used for public education until 1925 and has since been lovingly renovated to preserve its charm while adding modern amenities. The exterior matches the original schoolhouse facade, while the interior features brand-new construction with a historic feel.

The living room and gourmet kitchen are open and spacious, replicating the one-room schoolhouse that once stood here. Relax by the wood-burning fireplace with a complimentary bag of firewood, or enjoy a movie on the large flat-screen TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern fixtures and a large dining area, perfect for family meals.

Outside, you’ll find a private brick patio with a gas grill, ideal for cooking and dining al fresco while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The home offers two bedrooms: the main bedroom with a king-size bed and a wall-mounted LED TV, and the second bedroom with twin bunk beds and an LCD TV. The bathroom features a Whirlpool tub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. High-speed Wi-Fi is included, along with a high-efficiency laundry system for longer stays.

Ring the vintage 24-inch cast-iron school bell to call everyone to the table, then enjoy a meal prepared in the gourmet kitchen with local produce. The home also features wide-plank pine floors and historic schoolhouse memorabilia for a true sense of the past.

Tiverton Four Corners Schoolhouse No. 1 was originally sold to the town in 1854 and served as a school until 1925. The Rego family converted it into a private home in 1928. Today, the bell remains alive and well in Maine.

Walk to Historic Tiverton Four Corners village, a charming crossroads with shops, art galleries, Gray’s Ice Cream, and more. Don't forget to visit the roadside stand across the street for fresh-picked corn!

No pets allowed. Winter monthly rates do not include utilities; please reach out for more details.

Adam & Kristin, with our four kids, are pleased to be offering a variety of homes for vacation rental in the Tiverton and Little Compton area. We moved to Little Compton in 2002 because we wanted to raise our family in this quiet rural town. It was one of the best decisions of our lives! In 2009 we bought the farm and about a year later bought the Schoolhouse. It was after the purchase and a complete remodel we learned about vacation rental homes and we thought we'd give it a shot. We immediately fell in love with the idea and not a year later, bought another fixer upper in our town of Little Compton. We were blessed with many wonderful guests and because of that, we were able to purchase the Samuel Church Estate in 2016, and the John Dyer Loft in 2019. In 2020 Kristin was able to obtain her real estate license and now We have now started to manage properties and have other beautiful large homes in Little Compton also available. We've also been able to travel and enjoy using Airbnb to find wonderful unique places to stay. Our extended family traveled in Europe staying in the most unique places thanks to Airbnb. We've been able to meet some wonderful people, which just adds to the vacation and Airbnb experience.
