A separate space, and entrance gives guests privacy. There is in-floor heating, a wonderfully comfortable queen sized bed, and luxurious linens. French doors with Juliette balcony, intimate shower lighting, fireplace, and wi-fi. Fridge, microwave, toaster oven, enable simple snack preparation. Seating area and eating area provided in space.
This spacious room is in a separate building, so guests will have their own entrance/access, and as little or as much interaction with their hosts as they like.
Interaction with Guests
We greet guests and let them set the pace for interaction. Always happy to chat, and just as easily keep our distance if that is what the guest wishes. We will be on premises most days during guest stay, and accessible by phone when not on premises.
The neighbourhood is quiet, and well wooded, making it enjoyable and safe for walking some of the local hiking trails. Lots of wildlife abound, including resident deer and their babies, woodpeckers, eagles, ravens, and other birds. A two minute walk to St Mary Lake, the largest lake on Salt Spring, it is also close to the popular public access beach for swimming. If lazing is what you wish, there is a small deck in the private garden surrounding the B&B which many guests have enjoyed, either taking their breakfast out there in the mornings, or enjoying the full sun in the afternoon with a snack and a glass of wine.
Salt Spring has a transit system available, which runs every couple hours, and a two minute walk from the B&B. If you have a car, there is ample parking at the B&B. Directions are available to the B&B from any of the three ferry terminals.
Other Things to Note
There is always something happening on Salt Spring, from wine and food, to cycling events. One of North America's premier Farmer's Markets are held every Saturday from April through to October, and offer home-grown organic strawberries, Salt Spring cheeses, both organic cow's milk, as well as tangy goat cheese, and a myriad of other tantalizing goodies. Artisans from painters, weavers, to silversmiths, share the space. 7 minute drive from the B&B. Lots of hiking, biking and kayaking areas available throughout the island too.
Pets are welcome if they are well-behaved. There is a resident dog and cat on premises, and both are very social! Smoking is permitted outside the B&B.
Sue and Chris were wonderful hosts. The space is nice and separate from the main house, and tastefully decorated. It surrounded by a relaxing garden, with a friendly cat and dog to boot.
By far, the best part of the experience was Sue's unique touch with breakfast. Each day was different, and we were sure to start the day off on the right foot. We would definitely stay here again.
