Enjoy commanding ocean and coastal views in a tranquil secluded setting. A simple but solid house with a big terrace. Whether you come here to swim, surf, fish, dive or stay at home and read or work online, you'll enjoy your time here on the hilltop.

There are mini markets in Kuta selling bread, pasta, fruit and vegetables, cheese, margarine, snacks, condiments etc. The outdoor markets are held on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, where you can get a wider range of foods, fresh and prepared, including fresh seafood. In fact, you can get fresh seafood at the market location every morning of the week.
Hot water shower, western toilet, cable tv with channels in English, French, Japanese, and Indonesian.
Guests can use the usb modem with their own laptop computers, to access the internet. If guests bring an ipad or smartphone, they will need a usb adaptor.
The house is cool and breezy, especially from April to November. You can sleep in comfort and security, in the cool night temperatures,by locking only the iron security doors, and leaving the windows and main doors open. There are fans in the living room and the bedroom, and air con in the bedroom, if desired. Large terrace with hammock and rocking chairs. Picturesque sunrises and twilight ambiance are very nice.
Only 2 minutes from popular restaurant, Ashtari, which opens for breakfast at 6.30 am. 5 minutes down to Kuta, which has a good range of restaurants and cafes. It will be possible to order meals by phone from selected restaurants, and have a delivery boy go down to kuta to pick up the order, for a fee of around $3.00.
10 minutes to beautiful Are Goling and Mawun beaches. Mawun is safe for swimming and sunbathing at any tide. There are several quality wet and dry season surf spots within 10, 20 and 30 minutes drive. The main road from Kuta up the hill to Prabu has recently been upgraded and is in excellent condition. However, the final 100m dirt road to access the property is still in poor condition. Access by car or motorbike is possible but requires caution. Consider it a small effort in order to enjoy the awesome view. Much easier on motorbikes. After heavy rains, guests may choose to leave their car or bikes parked at a neighbour's house on the main road and walk 2 to 3 minutes to the property.
A nightwatchman is present from dusk to dawn for peace of mind. The host resides in a separate apartment 100m away from the house. Cleaning services are provided. Guests clothes can be sent to the laundry and picked up again.
At present, quiet, secure, comfortable accommodation with amazing ocean views, is hard to find in and around Kuta.
If you reserve online on the same day as your check-in, it is very important that you contact the phone number provided immediately, to ensure you will be met at the gate and given the keys without having to wait.
The host lives on the same property, but not in the guest's house, and is often available if guests require information or would like some light conversation. For guests who are already confident swimmers/surfers, they may accompany the host to the beach if they wish. Unfortunately, the host is not qualified to give surf lessons in Indonesia, but can easily arrange a surf guide from Kimen Surf in Kuta.
As previous guests have said in reviews, renting a motorbike or car is essential, as their is no public transport system. Exceptionally fit guests may choose to walk or ride a bicycle to and from Kuta, or to the beaches to the west.
The view was incredible morning, noon and night, so tranquil and calming. We even saw monkeys. Surfing was great and motorcycling around was a highlight. The times I visited Kuta I found it quite hot and noisy so I'm glad we stayed out a bit. Host was incredibly accommodating and the place was well maintained.
TIPS- After rains, the road can get a bit hairy. If you aren't confident on a scooter or motorbike, check in with host first to ask about the current condition of the road. Also, it's the type of place that you can't pop in and out from easily so get organised with food etc. Having said that the host facilitated delivery food for us twice (and even bought us some local organic rice from a special place he visited). Buy an Indonesian SIM card so you can communicate with host via mobile.
Overall we really enjoyed the place.
3 people staying in late December.
What Zoe said about the access road is true. Its not a long road, only about 150 metres. The last 50 metres is where it was difficult during Zoe's stay, because of heavy rains. Such heavy rains are rare however, and the rains stop completely around April, when the dry season starts. When the road is dry, it is much easier to use, even for inexperienced riders. Also, myself and my neighbour are going to repair the road in the near future. By March or April, it will be in much better condition.
Really a comfortable place to stay. The locale is second to none. The view never gets boring. From the amazing colors of the reef to the life in the surrounding jungle there is never a dull moment while relaxing on the deck. We enjoyed watching the birds and the bay from the house then cruising around on the motorbike exploring all of the gems the south of the island has to offer. The location can't be beat. Its close enough to town to buzz down quickly on the bike for supplies. But far enough away to provide a total sense of seclusion. Surf is plentiful and world class. And the host works very hard to ensure your stay is just what you are looking for. Can't wait for another opportunity to enjoy this awesome place.
We had a wonderful time at the hill and hope others will have a chance to enjoy it too! The house is lovely and the view stunning. Fabien showed us around, gave tips for the best food, surf and beaches. He even took the time to have dinner with us and give my friend Tabitha a private surfing lesson.. hope we can go back soon!!
A great little house with an amazing view. We stayed for a week and loved having our own house amongst the locals. A great place to kick back and wind down. It was far enough from town to feel like you were in your own little world, but close enough that you could zip down the hill on your scooter for a meal or a drink. The host was very accommodating and a wealth of knowledge on the local area and the people.
Very quiet, private house. YOU NEED A SCOOTER - nothing is really within walking distance. But roads are very quiet and scootering is cheap and fun:) bumpy dirt road leading to house but do-able with scooter! About a 10 min scooter ride from Kuta beach. Workable kitchen. Hot water shower. Huge back patio with amazing view and hammock to relax with coffee in the morning while sun comes up. Massive cement roof for sunbathing if you don't feel like going to the beach. No wireless internet - only a modem which works with computers but not cell phones/ipads. Ashtari resturant only 2 min drive away on same hilltop- incredible food and views, very serene restaurant and even has sunrise yoga at 630 am - highly recommend! Mawun beach was 20 min away, very beautiful and quiet. Mawi beach was about 30 min away with great surf and friendly people. Fabian is a very friendly guy who built the place himself - he lives on the property in a seperate house and is available most of the time if you have any questions or concerns - he even lent us a cell phone to keep in contact with him at no charge! He hires a night watchman to keep watch over the place so you feel very safe and secure - I didn't think it was necessary as I never felt unsafe in Kuta anyway but an added bonus for those who feel unsafe travelling. This house made our vacation in Kuta very serene - it was nice to have our own space on the quiet hilltop and get away from all the noisy motorcycles revving on the streets in "downtown" Kuta! Although there were a few gecko as friendly vistors in the house (mainly bathroom where the water was as it was dry season) - This is what you get with opening all the patio doors for the great view and they didn't bug us at all. There were no mosquitos either the time of year we visited (August) which I really appreciated! Try sitting out at night on the roof and looking at all the stars with a bottle of wine - can't beat quiet country life with tonnes of beauitful white sand beaches minutes away:)
Me and a friend of me stayed 6 nights in Fabian's Hill House and it was really awsome! To see this view is just a reason to book this house few days!!
We had a wonderful stay! Despite we even haven't met Fabian, he arranged everything perfectly and informed his nightwatchman about our arrival. He provided some information specially for us and advised about some places worth visiting. During our stay I was in touch with Fabian and he always was available to help us. At the end I wanted to stay one more day and of course, there was no problem with that.
The villa is supperb. Definitely it was the best place where we stay since we started exploring Indonesia 2 month ago. View from the terrace is gorgeous so be aware - you may just don't want to visit any other places around and stay chilling out in villa :) There is TV, internet access, full equipped kitchen, bathroom with nice shower and hot water, comfortable beds with mosquito nets and pretty nice wild garden surroundings. There is also AC, but we haven't even turned it on as temperatures were fine.
Location is perfect, 5 minutes by motorbike to Kuta, but far enough from a bit crowded center. In opposite direction is fabulous Mawan beach.
All at all I regret that we stayed there only for 4 days. I definitely recommend that place and it's owner Fabian. I'll come back there one day :)
We've been there for one week and it was fantastic!!The place is wonderful and peaceful with a very nice view on the Kuta harbour. Kuta is far only 5 minutes by bike.Fabian is a very good guy, he was very attentive to us and he always gave us suggestions to enjoy Lombok at 100% and he made us feel like home.
The place is close to the main east and west beaches around Kuta, is surrounded by tropical forest. It was very relaxing to laid on the hammock enjoing the sunrises and the sunsets on the Kuta harbour.
We hope to come back again we have been inside a dream...
What an amazing place! The pictures here don't do the view justice... It was unreal! We woke every morning to lay in the hammock on the porch and watch the sunrise... a must see! No other house or structure is nearby so it was very quiet and secluded. Everything was clean and comfortable in the house and Fabian was extremely accommodating and beyond helpful. He helped arrange drivers, delivery boys, gave recommendations on beaches/restaurants, etc. Ashtari (great food/drinks/views) is within walking distance, the rest I suggest motorbikes to get to; which, riding through the hills was one of my favorite things to do! All in all I highly recommend this place... You will love it! And no, turns out that is not a tub in the bathroom.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
