About this listing
This apartment is a 2-minute walk to the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge and a 3-minute walk to the subway. It will take you 25 minutes to walk across the bridge or 6 minutes on the subway. A 10-minute walk brings you to the center of Bedford Avenue for many stores, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs, boutiques, and grocery stores.
Your own private bedroom in a large 3-bedroom apartment. There are 2 other people living here (each our private rooms) and our third room is available.
Measurements are 8' by 11' and there is one window overlooking the Manhattan and Brooklyn skyline towards the north. It is on the 3rd floor of a quiet 3-story building. The building/apartment is not a newly renovated condo without style and character, but rather you will be staying in an "Old Brooklyn" style apartment that is very comfortable without the contemporary finish...it is not a new building. It has as much character as Brooklyn once did.
The room has a queen-size bed (clean sheets/blankets & pillows included), a desk and a chair. There is a closet too. Clean fresh towels and linens are provided. The bed is no longer on the floor as the photo indicated, but is elevated with a solid bed frame.
Location: One subway stop from Manhattan, first stop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on the J/M/Z-train. Marcy Avenue Station. 2-min walk from Marcy Ave., 10-minute walk from Bedford Avenue L-train Station. At foot of Williamsburg Bridge on Brooklyn side. 25-min. walk across bridge into Manhattan.
Includes use of kitchen & bathroom, Internet, rooftop. No smoking in apartment, but on rooftop ok.
Kitchen includes various appliances, dishes, fridge, gas stove, coffee maker (espresso), etc. I cook here daily.
About roommates: There are two people living in the apartment. Aged 26 and 38. One man, one woman (we are not a couple). We both work full-time but with different schedules. We are quiet at home, cook at home almost every evening, and enjoy being social (usually meaning out) in the evening.
Keep in mind this is a 3rd floor walk-up with no elevator.
Je parle français aussi.
Please send any and all questions about the place!
Please be clean...
The internet/wifi password is on the back of the apartment door.
We don't leave dishes in the sink and we clean out the shower drain of hair after showering or bathing.
If you need anything, just ask me.
Smoking is allowed on the rooftop but not inside (it is just ten steps up to the rooftop).
I have some non-stick cooking pans that should not be scrubbed with the rough part of the sponge.
We do recycle - you will see a bin for carton/paper and another one for glass and metal.
All for now.
We had a great time at Sebastian's flat. He is a fantastic host. We had some nice chats with him and bis roommate in the kitchen. Another big pro: Bedford Avenue with its shops and bars and Marcy Avenue Subway Station are just around the corner. I would definitely recommend his flat!
Sebastian is a kind and helpful host, who makes you feel at home immediately. He makes sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room is large and nice, and it is also possible to get some work done at the desk. Great location to stay for a few days!
We had a great time in New York and Sebastian's place couldn't have a had a better location to get into the city! Just a 2 minutes walk to the subway and at the very first stop you are already in Manhattan. The room and the house was pretty and we really enjoyed coming back after long days in the city. Recommend!
Sebastian was e great host. The apartment is a little old, but clean. Sebastian supplied us with towels and sheets, was always nice to chat with and very fiendly and helpful. The room is 5 minutes away from subway-station, a grocerie store and some places to eat, you can also reach the entrance to WIlliamsburg bridge in only 5 minutes. Since the subway is passing by close the room is not quiet but we did not have problems to sleep without earplugs. I definitely recommend to stay there!
Perfect! Was exactly where I needed to be. Great neighbourhood, fantastic hosts. Sebastian and his flatmate are both friendly, and were a joy to see when I ran into them in the flat. Felt totally welcome and at home. The room is quiet (aside from street noise- but I had earplugs for that) and the flat is very warm and comfortable. Was absolutely ideal - perfect place. Thanks guys! Xxm
Sebastian is a really nice person, always answering questions about what to do and see in New York. The flat is quiet big plus access to the roof, quite nice at night for the view.
The room on itself is big, we had at our disposal shelves to put our clothes which is really convenient.
I did found the room cold at night (im from north africa and prefer hot weather!!) and a bit too noisy because of the traffic but with ear plug is fine.
I had the most wonderful time at Sebastian's place. He made me feel at home immediately and showed some great places around.
The house is close to Bedford Avenue, the place to be when you want some good coffee and pastry, delicious food and nice vintage shops.
It's the perfect location when you want to explore both: Manhattan and Williamsburg. Just a few minutes away from all the hotspots.

About the Host, Sebastian
I am originally from Montreal and have been living in New York City for over ten years. I am a composer, musician, and teacher.
I like living in this apartment, and with roommates. There has always been a peaceful and open atmosphere whether one wants to be social or to stay quiet.
I have traveled a lot in my life. I still do, and I enjoy discovering new places just as much as retaining the little comforts ... great coffee, clean clothes, showers ... after all, visiting New York City is not camping!
