Quiet neighborhood that's a 10 minute walk to a train stop. 15 minute drive to Midway airport. Free parking & close to the highway.
This apt is very big and had a has a lot of natural sunlight. Located on the first floor of our building. We live upstairs in a completely separate apt so we are very close if you have any questions or concerns, but your privacy is assured.
It is a 1 bedroom apartment with a queen size bed, full kitchen with utensils and cookware, full bathroom with tub and linens, living room with full sized sleeper couch and dining. We have a queen sized air mattress as well that sleeps two if needed.
So to recap the sleeping situations-
A. Private bedroom sleeps two people on a queen sized real bed. (2 adults)
B. Living room has a couch that turns into a full sized bed but I personally recommend that you sleep on the couch and don't pull out the bed. The couch is extremely comfortable and very wide. So unless you're really tall, this would be where I would sleep if I were you. (1 average height adult)
C. Lastly, we have a brand new super comfy queen sized air mattress that self inflates in a matter of minutes. That queen can sleep two people & will fit in the dining room or living room. (2 adults)
D. Total- 5 adults
So technically the apt can sleep up to 6 people but I'm putting the couch as a one person bed b/c I don't think the pull out part is very comfortable to sleep on.
I also have a pack & play which is a travel crib for babies about 2 years and under. Not sure what the official restrictions are on it but if you're a parent you probably know if you kid is too big for a pack & play.
Free Wi-Fi is available but you will need to bring a laptop or a device to use it.
Towels, sheets and blankets will be provided for all stays.
Coin operated laundry is on-site in the building.
Kitchen will have pots, pans, utensils, dishes and cups. Spices, seasonings & FOOD ARE NOT INCLUDED. A gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave are available for use in your apartment. Many grocery stores are within walking distance of the apartment. Breakfast or meals aren't included in the price. Many restaurants in the area deliver.
A gas grill is available for your use in the back yard. Backyard also has a patio set if you wish to dine al fresco.
The apt has central heat and window unit air conditioner in the bedroom. A second AC unit was recently added to the dining room.
The apartment is near downtown Chicago with an easy 25-30 minute train ride into the Loop. We are located within walking distance of the 35th/Archer Orange Line subway station that goes to the Loop and Midway Airport. We are close to US Cellular Field where the Chicago White Sox play. We aren't very far from McCormick Place or the South Loop which has many famous museums. Neighborhood next door is Pilsen which is rich in Mexican culture, amazing food and lots of art galleries.
We are both very savvy when it comes to this city and can help you by making recommendations or help navigate you. We're both super friendly so we're happy to help if you have questions about the city. We have both traveled the world so we welcome foreigners with open arms.
Lots of street parking available for free. Some areas have restrictions during school hours but none of the streets require a permit.
Sorry smoking is not allowed inside the building or on the property. Pets or animals are not allowed to stay with you.
Check-Ins- Flexible but usually after 2 PM is best. You can always drop your bags off and I can keep that in my apt if you have an early flight.
Check-Out- anytime before noon.

Katie and Dave were very good hosts. We were students with no car and they took us to the store to get some groceries. The house was spacious and everything was just right. It was not too far away from the train station making it easy for us to commute. Although it was still quite a journey with no car to get around but nonetheless it was a good location with easy access to the train. Definitely would recommend Kate & Dave's place.
Our stay at Dave&Katies place was very comfortable. The apartment is warm, nice and spacious. Both the couch and the airmatress were comfortable for sleeping. The CTA train station is 10 minutes away and it takes you directly to the Loop in 10-15 minutes, and also we had no trouble reaching McCormics place every morning in about 45 minutes. The neighbourhood is ok, there is a nice grocery shop near by, but no other facilities such as restaurants or bars. Overall we would reccomend Dave&Katies place.
This was a great spot, and Katie was a very attentive host. The apartment is close to downtown, so don't be afraid to stay outside the loop. The neighborhood is quiet, and the apartment is well equipped and very spacious--oh, and very, very clean! I had my car, and I did not have any problem finding parking on any night (and I was there during the weekdays and weekend)--and you can drive to the loop in a few minutes. This has to be one of the best deals in Chicago.
Katie was very helpful in providing everything that was needed. The location is about an 8 min walk to the train or bus stop. The air mattress was comfy. It was an overall good experience.
Dave & Katie's place was perfect, and they, too, were extremely accommodating. I traveled to Chicago for a wedding with my sister's family, and the experience there couldn't have been nicer. They let us checkin early so that we could get ready for the wedding and even left an iron out for us. Katie was very informative, making sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. The place is roomy and made for comfortable stay for all 6 of us (4 adults/ 2 children).
It's a 10-20 minute drive to downtown Chicago, depending on the traffic, and parking was very easy. I highly recommend this place!
Dave and Katie were the perfect hosts anyone could wish for. Always available to extend any kind of assistance one may need. Katie took utmost care to make sure our stay was comfortable. Their apartment is very cozy and neat with good accessibility. I will recommend their apt to anyone looking for a quiet comfortable stay while in Chicago
Katie and Dave were great hosts. The apartment was clean and inviting, and had everything I needed for the stay. Thanks guys!
My family really have a wonderful trip in Chicago with Dave & Katie 's house. The house locates in a quiet community with a beautiful view. With the utilities in the house, we can cook there conveniently for my daughter. It is a charming thing to take a walk in the morning or nightfall and see the neighborhood's building with the Halloween 's theme. More important, Katie is a nice host ( Dave is on working), she is always ready to help us, such as parking, charger, and so on.
The house is great and the host is nice. Katie is thoughtful and always willing to help us. House is big and clean for a family. We can use the stuff to cook breakfast by ourselves. The community is quiet and charming especially when you walk out in the morning with sunshine. Fall color is beautiful in the street in front of the house.
This stay in Cicago was our first experience with AirBnB and we were positively surprised. Katie our host was very friendly and helpful, even a late check-in was no problem for her.
The place is very big and clean and perfect if you're travelling in a smaller group. Also the neighbourhood seemed nice and was in walking distance to the next CTA station heading downtown.
We enjoyed our stay in Chicago very much and recommend Katie and Dave absolutely!
