The cottage is well appointed, comfortable and had everything we needed. We were glad to be in walking distance of my daughter and Venice Beach and restaurants. The back yard was a pleasant spot to sit in the afternoon. Hosts Tony and Claudia could not be nicer. We enjoyed our stay and I would definitely return.
wow; dream bungalow in heart of Venice; private, vault-like in sound and privacy
super quiet, truly private, wonderfully convenient; hosts eminently available, reliable, honest.
artistic, hip space, small but designed to maximize space; don't stay in a hotel; stay here; great value
pay attention to street cleaning
se habla espanol; and maybe other languages as well
I would highly recommend the cottage/studio of Tony & Claudya to every one who wants to visit Venice, Ca.
LAX Airport is not far away from Venice and you can reach the location for just one dollar. Tony can give you instructions how to travel from LAX.
The cottage is nicely tucked away behind their house is well equiped and has everything you need to have a great stay. Fridge, shower, cable, small oven, electric heater and most of all a good bed.
To discover Venice and Santa Monica 2 bikes are available. The beach is about 3 blocks away and there are lots of options to eat and to buy groceries and other options.
Tony himself is a great guy who is laidback and always happy to help you. I only met Claudia on my last day and I very appreciated that she came along in the morning on her way to work. They both really gave me the feeling 'Mi Casa Es Su Casa'!
So to have a wonderfull stay take the opportunity to stay with Tony & Claudia
As it was my first visit to LA i had my doubts about the city but I liked it in every way and I will surely come back and stay again with Tony and Claudia.
G O F U L H A M ! !
We had a really nice time in our stay at Tony And Claudia's cottage in Venice. The cottage is very pretty And confortable. The shower is awsome! the place is located in a very nice neighborhood, Also near the beach, bars and cafés. Tony And Claudia always gave us everything we needed, and they've been very kind with us in our first time in L.A. They also offered us bikes And surfboards.
In a few words, we had the best time staying at the cottage!!
One of the best things is that you can have total privacy as Tony And Claudia (And Syd their dog ) have their privacy too.
The perfect place to stay!
Cute, quaint, secluded cottage tucked on the edge of Venice/Santa Monica. Walking distance to Cafe Gratitude, Moon Juice, yoga studios, Abbott Kinney, The cottage itself is clean, modern, and has an eclectic feel with thoughtful touches of shampoo, lotions, coffee and tea. Great Art books to give a feel of the artist conscious community. We didn't have an opportunity to meet Tony and his wife due to the busy holiday season but his texts were always considerate and made us feel welcomed.
Had a great stay, Tony and his wife were fantastic hosts and their cottage is a superb little place tucked away behind the main house. I'd describe it as California minimal with nice sun exposure. It really is close to everything you'd care about in Venice and Santa Monica and would recommend their place to anyone considering it.
This is a great place to stay! Tony and Claudia are really relaxed and kind people, who are also very helpful and keen on making you feel comfortable. We spent 3 weeks here, and next time we are going to LA we wouldnt dream of staying anywhere else. The location is perfect: in the heart of Venice, but yet really secluded and quiet; Close to an enourmous (and quite addictive) Whole Foods, and close to the beach, which can be reached in 5 minutes on the beach cruisers, which are free for guests to borrow. You can even take a surfboard down there and catch a few waves. Thanks Tony and Claudia, we hope to see you again sometime!
The cottage was secluded, quiet and the bikes came in handy for getting around Venice.
What is better about Tony and Claudia’s guest house – the location or their hospitality? I can’t say. When you walk through their front garden gate, it is like stepping back into Venice of the 1960’s. (I lived in west-LA and Venice from (phone number hidden).) Their guest house is in their backyard. It is secluded, peaceful, and self-contained. No traffic noise whatsoever although there are flyovers taking off and landing from Santa Monica Municipal Airport, though never after 8:00 pm. Pictures of Elvis, Frida Kahlo, and Frank Zappa (with his mom and dad) made me feel right at home. I was working on a book, so the quiet was important, yet half a block down the street is Rose Ave and a ten minute walk to the ocean. In between, there must be dozens of coffee shops, restaurants, and boutique stores. (There are plenty more when you cross Main or wander south to Abbot Kinney Blvd.) Nearly every morning (I was there for a week), I’d run into Tony on Rose as we were out to get our morning coffee and fresh pastry. (It’s hard to choose between Groundworks or The Rose Café.) It would be hard to imagine any other combination of peaceful seclusion and excellent dining options, all accessible by foot. I look forward to returning.
Perfect location for me. Close to Gold's gym, whole foods, restaurants and yoga. I traveled alone and felt totally safe coming and going. I would definitely stay here again.
