Centrally-located amidst three noteworthy neighborhoods: the Glebe, Little Italy and China Town on the East, West and North respectively, as well as, within a walking distance from Carleton University on the South. Conveniently, also 5 minutes away from Dow’s Lake Pavilion - an end point for the Rideau Canal Skate way in the winter - where kayaks are available to rent in the summer. Number 4 bus, in front of the building, is the way to downtown Ottawa in 10 minutes. The Greyhound bus terminal is one bus stop away on the same line.
The room itself is the maximum for minimalism: a double-sized mattress over box base, two pillows, linen in white, five available hangers and yours truly, a night lamp.
Everything else like, an iron, ironing board or a hair-dryer is to be shared with the host.
Both, the kitchen and the bathroom, are also along the lines of minimalism - petite, pure and practical. And available to make use of in the best way one enjoys. The host hopes the guests would carry the free spirits to make themselves at home.
Marina was lovely, as was her place. She made me feel very welcome, everything was spotless and comfortable, the building was quiet and secure, and she even made me breakfast! We had a great conversation, she took lots of time to help me learn my way around the neighbourhood and recommend coffee shops and restaurants. Her place was very convenient for getting to and from Carleton, Chinatown, Little Italy, the Glebe and downtown. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you Marina!
This was my second stay with Marina, and it was even better than the first! She has always been a kind and thoughtful host, but she goes the extra mile to find just what will make each guest feel most welcome. She really listens and is very helpful when it comes to getting around downtown Ottawa.
The ad described the space accurately: a clean, simple and comfortable space - basically, all you need!
The neighbourhood is quiet, but close to public transportation and walking distance to Little Italy and the Glebe. I found the location quite convenient.
Everything was great at Marina's place. She offered us tea on arrival and explained all of the things we could do in Ottawa.
The room is simple like on the photos and very clean. Close to Little Italy for some good restaurants but a bit of a walk to downtown ( especially in the snow!)
Nice, simple place; not far from downtown; Marina is a great host and took the time to explain what there's to do in Ottawa.
Marina is unbelievable and very kind person!
I was in Ottawa for two days, and this was my first time in the city. Marina made me feel like home explaining how the city works, what public transport to take, and showed me where the famous "Rideau Canal Skateway" runs.
Also, Marina can give a very good insurance and investment solution advise, which doesn't hurt to consider sooner than later;)
Marina, thank You for your hospitality, kind approach, and a great sense of being welcomed by the city!
Marina was really welcoming! She spent some time explaining what's fun in Ottawa and even made an awesome breakfast for us. She was really nice and inspiring lady. Cheers
Marina is such a gracious host, and genuinely interested in getting to know her guests. Not only is she a warm and engaging person, she's also very helpful: I couldn't have figured out the OC Transpo routes without her! She also provided me with excellent dining options in the area.
As advertised, the accommodations were simple, clean and comfortable. I appreciated the fact that her place is centrally located - just a short walk to the Glebe or Little Italy. It's also very convenient for those traveling by bus; the downtown terminal is only a 15-minute walk away.
I treasure experiences collected over years and thousands of miles. Love tulips, tomatoes, tents and trains, but, before anything else - each and every day - a timely-brewed tin of coffee!!! In line with trying to live life with less, I bring home books, movies, music and magazines from the library. I've a plane ticket to visit Bulgaria in May and am saving for one to visit Brazil in December. Am always curious and up to hear what others love, save and crave for!
