About this listing
A clean, quiet, bright 1 bedroom apt on a beautiful tree-lined street. Great sunlight all around! Good sized bedroom has queen bed and view of trees. Light pours into the living room in the morning. Great vibes all around. Best neighborhood in NYC!
My apartment is REALLY clean, clutter free and sunny. Fresh towels and bed sheets provided. There is a super comfy, large, clean couch which is the size of a twin bed and can be made up into one. It is surprisingly quiet at night.
You will love my place it has great energy, read my reviews!

The neighborhood is fantastic, the best in manhattan if you are not familiar. Very safe. 1/2 block to Tompkins Square Park which is a great place to hang out and people watch, great restaurants, shops, bars etc…
My block (10th between 1st and A) has a great vibe. Full of energy it's the "health street": A raw food restaurant, the Juice Press, Gluten free bakery etc.. and directly across the street is the famous Russian Turkish Baths which has been in operation since 1890.
It's very close to these subway lines: L, F, N, R, 6 trains. Several bus lines are very close as well.
There is a Citibike station a half block away. NYCs bikeshare program. It's $10 a day or $25 a week.
Other Things to Note
Its on the 5th floor (4 flights of stairs no elevator). Its not that bad, you get your butt in shape! If you are not used to manhattan apartments it may seem small (aprox 400sq ft), but for NYC it is considered to be a good size! No one has ever complained about the size but I like to mention it anyway :)
Please be on the quiet side in general. No party animals, heavy drinkers, late night loud music etc..
Absolutely no smoking or pets.
Bay is a great host! He was always reachable when needed and did everything to make us feel comfortable!
The apartment is awesome, it's located in a really nice neighbourhood, very clean, though quite small, but you won't spend much time here. :)
Bay's guestbook is really good, we tested a few locations and they were totally awesome!
Bay has an exceptional place. Ideally located in east village, the place is really comfortable and Bay was great during our stay and very helpful.
Bay was very accommodating to us and we loved having his apartment as our home base in New York. The apartment was perfect for two and the east village is hard to beat! We loved everything from the building street and neighborhood and were so glad with our choice to stay at Bay's.
Bay was a great host, always very quick to answer emails. He went out of his way to be be friendly and helpful, and to help us feel at home.
We loved our stay here. Bay's apartment is super cool, and in a great location - it was a great way to experience NYC. Bay was great to deal with, and made us feel very at home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bay's place, once we settled in. Key pick up was easy and close to the apartment. Quite the workout lugging suitcases up 4 flights of stairs, but that's only checking in, lugging down the stairs is a lot easier! Bay"s place looked smaller, especially the bathroom, than it looked in the photos even though the website states that it is 400 sq. ft., but it is quite adequate for 2 people. The place was clean, although it is showing its age as an older building. The bed was extremely comfortable and the placement of the big TV facing the bed was great for winding down the day after being out all day. My only wish was for a small microwave. We never cooked (who wants to do that while on vacation?) but there are so many great markets (Westside Market, Trader Joe's) with a huge variety of meals that can be microwaved, when one doesn't feel like eating out. Dine-out options are also plentiful and close by and Bay's place is in one of the best areas of Manhattan and probably our favourite.
Bay's apartment was great. Located in the heart of the East Village it's close to many amazing eateries and cafes. With easy access to public transport you're only a few minutes away from Times Square and other tourist attractions. The apartment was spacious enough for two people and Bay left many free areas to put our clothes and other such things away. It was clean and well looked after. I highly recommend this place when visiting Manhattan. We were there for close to two weeks and it was stellar, especially as Bay's communication is top notch and always on the ball. He also has a portrait of Nic Cage... Need I say more?!
About the Host, Bay
I am a graphic designer, art director, musician, surfer. I grew up in LA and lived in San Fran bay area for many years. I think I am super friendly and I like to be helpful so ask me anything about NYC, or I can also be totally out of the picture :) I go to Montauk a lot in the summer so that is perhaps where I am when you are staying at my place!
