HOUSE RULE #1:
If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun; leave no trace.
Very clean apartment. Location was safe and convenient, just a 10 minute walk from the L subway. Conveniently located to restaurants, delis, bars and grocery store. Manhattan is only a ten minute ride on the subway. After spending the day in Manhattan it was comforting to be able to get away and hang in Williamsburg away from the traffic and crowds. June met us and provided us with all the info we needed. She is a lovely lady. the apartment provided us with everything we would need. Note this is someone's home so there are personal items in the apartment.
I love this loft. This is exactly what I am looking for to experience the local culture. Very spacious and clean. I definitely think to come back again.
We had a great time staying in Williamsburg. Apartment is in a great location - lots of restaurants and amenities and very easy to get to Manhattan.
Apartment was great - had everything we needed. Special thanks to June for helping us when we arrived later than planned and without any bags!
The neighborhood was a lot of fun- we especially liked the easy access to walking over the Williamsburg Bridge and the Bedford Baking Company fantastic flatbread and eggs with condiments breakfast, right around the corner.
However, some things about the apt were not so great. Both beds were pretty uncomfortable. The plumbing in the kitchen and the bathroom had issues. There has clearly been a leak in the window onto the shades. In general. The whole place needed a good once over and airing.
Neighbor June was a lovely host. The internet worked. There were cool things and books to look at in the apartment. But I wouldn't rush back.
About the Host, Mac
There are people that live in New York and then there are New Yorkers. Fun and friendly, worldly and wise, native New Yorkers don't just point out things to see, they help you experience them. There are cities in the world that are richer, cleaner and more beautiful but none with as much heart and citizens as hearty. The real charm of New York can't be found in a guide book or delivered from a transplant; the real charm lies in the soul of the natives. Pick your host like you pick your fruit: local and organic.
