We arrived in Manuel Antonio on our last three days in Costa Rica. The house is easily accessed and has a great view. The caretaker did not speak any English and we had to use hand gestures to communicate, but he was nice and we managed to figure out the a/c and locks (lots of locked doors). The downside was that the beds were uncomfortably hard and only a sheet was provided for cover. We also found a scorpion in the house but I understand that we were in the jungle. Upside was the ice maker.
The house alone was very beautiful and the views from the back pool and balcony were even more beautiful.
Our caretaker, Eladio, arrived in a timely manner and our host was accommodating to let us check in a little early. Eladio was very attentive to the property and our needs, locking up after us, sneaking in to clean and make our beds when he saw we were gone, and even caring for the pool in the middle of a storm!
-AC throughout the house was a lifesaver.
-The wifi was very strong, reaching just about everywhere
-The ice machine was great to have
-Te porch came alive with small animals the one night it rained. We saw the biggest moth ever, a giant praying mantis, and a small boa which we later found out was a rare sight.
-Geckos are everywhere and will sound like birds right outside the windows.
-The starfruit tree was in the backyard but the mango tree didn't have anything for us.
-We didn't get to see any monkeys but there were a ton at the National Forest which was only about a 10 minute drive away (don't get suckered into the guys standing in the street trying to get you to park; there's free parking at the end of the road!)
-We grilled out one night by the pool; get some charcoal and lighter fluid!
This house was a dream- the view, pool and big open plan kitchen made it a wonderful place to hang out. Easy/roomy parking and quick access by car to the restaurants of MA. The view in the pics is exactly what you see from the balcony and kitchen/living room, pretty amazing. The only consideration is that the bedrooms and bathrooms are very basic. The AC worked well.
Alejandra is a fantastic host as is her live-in house keeper (whose name escapes me) Welcoming, friendly and helpful!
The house is simply stunning. The views are to die for and the pool surrounded by lush tropical garden with iguanas, lizards, birds etc makes it a perfect way to relax and unwind. The air con is a definite god send and there are plenty of appliances to make coffee, meals but my favourite - the ice machine. Life (drink) Saver in the intense heat! Careful on the floors after the pool or shower - they get super slippery!
We had a simply sublime stay in this fantastic villa! The view is just incredible, and the pool such a pleasure to have to yourself. The home is spacious and as described, with four balconies and ample seating and sleeping arrangements for excellent comfort. We had not one but FOUR mot-mots visit us one morning, shared the pool with three curious iguanas, and ate star fruit and avocados straight from the garden. Señor Eladio is a true gentleman and knows your needs before you do. A bonus was the stand-alone ice maker in the house, so we could refill our cooler when we (regretfully) had to leave. Also worth noting again is the incredible peaceful solitude you'll enjoy as you overlook the sprawling Manuel Antonio Finca, the towering mountain range behind, and the sparkling Pacific Ocean to the right. Sunrise is well worth the early alarm in this gem of a house! Don't think twice about booking it for your vacation.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
