Our house in the beautiful and quiet gated community of Kentfield Commons is an ideal location for tourists and professionals going to Silicon Valley, visiting scholars at Stanford, entrepreneurs going to business meetings on Sand Hill Road and anyone looking for a scenic and restful retreat.
It is walking distance to lots of shopping and dining on Woodside Road, less than 10 minutes from highways 101 and 280, 10 minutes from Stanford and Sand Hill Road, 20 minutes from SFO, and 30 minutes from San Francisco and San Jose. Were also close to the Caltrain station. This is a great way to get to San Francisco or San Jose.

From May through October the junior Olympic swimming pool is heated and open for your enjoyment.
Spacious house, quite and safe neighborhood. Phil wasn't home when we arrived, so we followed his instructions to get inside. They have a shared pool nearby and quite backyard with a grill and a tent which you definetely want to use to have you breakfast.
Except for the internet, which was really slow, all other facilities were available 24/7: new ovens and gas burners which we used to prepare our meals (we prefer to have breakfast inside and go for dinned outside).
The master bedroom was really huge, although you don't have much space for your stuff&clothes: shelves are busy with host's clothes&stuff.
Definitely consider the place next time you are in Bay Area: 20 min to the ocean, 25 - to SF with a bunch of nature reserves and forests in the vicinity.
We had a wonderful experience at Phil and Barbara's house. It was in a very safe neighborhood and the house was clean and the decor was nice. We were also surprised by the hospitality. Phil even sent us a card key by airmail because we were going to arrive late and the gate entrance to the house might be closed. Thank you for making our stay in the district special~!
Our hosts, Phil and Barbara, were sweet and welcoming. Their house is in the perfect location - quiet street, cute backyard, and amazing community amenities including a playground and pool. Our three-year-old daughter loved every minute. Thank you so much for a comfortable stay. The beds were the BEST of any airbnb/(website hidden) house we've rented (and we've rented A LOT)!
Stay in Phil's house made our visit to the Silicon Valley much more enjoyable. We are a small family (couple + 1 year old baby) and needed a place to stay for a week. The place was great for us, in a beautiful and very safe neighborhood and close to shops. It's ten minutes from Stanford University.
The house is comfortable and had everything we needed. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, a complete kitchen and a patio were our baby could play. Internet works fine.
I would certainly return.
Lovely stay, very convenient for SFO , trips to San Fran and awesome for working locally as we were. House is great, patio lovely to sit out on. Cat is no bother but as someone unfortunately with cat allergies it was a small frustration (the allergies not the cat). All instructions and information clear and organised , overall a great experience. Thank you.
My family of 6 is coming down to Palo Alto for a piano event and we stayed at this house for 5 days. Philip kindly provided 2 airbeds for kids. The house accommodation is beyond expectation, clean and well organized, love the artwork displayed in the house. The neighborhood is gated, safe and quiet. We did get chance to walk a bit to the pool and big playground area. What turned out to be perfect for us is the house has a piano and that is exactly what we are looking for for a while.
The total AirBnb experience is smooth and communication with Philip is great. Philip provided adequate information on living around the house, cat caring instructions. Overall very satisfactory rental and first AirBnb experience. Highly recommended. Would love to stay again next time if we come to the same event.
Property was wonderful. Very roomy and comfortable. The cat was friendly and very low maintenance and Philip was very reasonable and easy to deal with. Would definitely consider staying again and would recommend to others!
