Spacious 2,500SF house located in the Southwest Portland John's Landing neighborhood. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms making it a great rental for families (or 2 families).
The floor plan is open with a large family room and an open kitchen. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and one smaller bedroom and full bathroom downstairs. Kitchen, laundry and mudroom with gear downstairs. The master bedroom is very large with a sleeping area for kids (if necessary).
The kitchen opens up to a large deck with a gas grill. There is a lawn where we frequently set up our badminton net or use our outdoor ping-pong table. There is also a fire pit should you get the urge to roast marshmallows!
We are close to downtown and only 3 blocks from the Willamette River. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, two yoga studios, Willamette Park and the Willamette Greenway Trail that goes to downtown. Willamette Park has tennis courts, a playground, soccer fields and free neighborhood concerts in the summer. There is a walking trail with beautiful views along the way.
To get downtown you can take the bus (bus stop is 50 feet from house) or bike on the Greenway trail. On the way you can check out the new South Waterfront neighborhood and take a tram or streetcar ride. If you have a car, there is plenty of free parking.
We have an inflatable kayak that you can take to the river for a different perspective of the city. There are also bikes, tennis racquets and backpacks that you can use.
I couldn't have pictured a better house for our stay, the outside deck got plenty of sun, inside was very spacious and very nicely decorated, and we had everything we needed! It was really easy to get into town, close to the shops, just perfect. Unfortunately I didnt get to meet Hanne, but would definitely recommend staying at her house as I have absolutely no complaints at all.
The house was lovely--filled with everything a family might need, including games and bikes--and in a quiet location with easy access to all parts of the city, including the trail along the river for running and cycling. Hanne made everything easy and accessible. We had a wonderful time staying here and getting to know Portland better.
Hi, I am Hanne. I am from Denmark, but have lived in Portland, Oregon since 1995, and definitely consider it home by now. Portland has a lot to offer. In the summer I love to take advantage of being close to world-class hiking and in the winter Mt. Hood snowboarding is high on my list, but I also enjoy city life. Tell me what you want to do while you are here and I will give you the inside scoop, including activities kids will enjoy.
