Our 1 bedroom cottage is located in Haiku on the North Shore of Maui. In the heart of our farm, our cottage built on poles overlooks a water lily pond. From the Lanai that surrounds the cottage you see the Pacific ocean that lays a mile down the road.
The bedroom features a queen size bed while a mezzanine offers a sleeping area good for a child. The mediterranean style bathroom and the full kitchen on the covered lanai make this place very comfortable and hard to leave!
Our farm is very quiet and private with very few houses around. The little town of Paia with its numerous restaurants, bars and shops is a 10 to 15 mn drive away while world famous Hookipa surfing beach is a 10 mn away. Going the other way on Hana Hwy is the jungle side of Maui with numerous water falls and hikes.
We all share the garden and the barn that offers a office to which guests have access to. They can use the desk inside or the table outside that usually has a better internet connection than the cottage.
Our neighborhood is made of single houses on agricultural land so the population density is low which is why our area is very quiet.
There is no public transport in the area so a car is mandatory but there is a nice walk to take from the cottage all the way down to the bottom of the street, looking at the ocean from the cliff.
Other Things to Note
We have a 7 nights minimum stay between December 20th and January 5th, otherwise it is 4 nights minimum unless we have a 2 nights opening between 2 reservations.
We try to recycle as much as we can so we expect our guests to use the recycling boxes for glass, plastic bottles, cardboard and aluminum containers.
We also have a compost disposal in the garden that guest can use.
We had a wonderful stay at the lovely lilly cottage. It is the perfect paradise getaway! Carine & Emmanuel were very friendly and helpful, we felt like home. Everything was clean & perfect, we would highly recommend staying at this place. Thanks for everything.
It is a really nice cottage, perfect for a couple in a very relaxing farm. It is pretty close to Paia and Haiku where you can find restaurants and supermarkets. There are also some nice beaches close by. The owners, Emmanuelle and Carine, are an easy-going and very helpful couple. The only bad thing is that the frogs that live in the pond below the cottage are a bit loud at night.
Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to meet Emmanuel or Carine but their employee really did everything she could to make us feel comfortable. The surrounding is really what it looks like on the pictures and the atmosphere is stunning and calming at the same time. We were so fascinated by the pictures that we didn't take into account that "living" outside all the time and having the kitchen outside means that you have a lot of tiny visitors (spiders, ants, bugs, geckos). We really enjoyed watching the Geckos but to be honest: we had to get used to that. When you can get used to that, then the Lily Farm REALLY is worth staying. The location near Paia and Haiku and the Road to Hana is also perfect. If you are a big person, then you MIGHT have problems with the toilet, since the room is really small but it is still useable (I had no problems, my boyfriend however had some issues). The frogs were absolutely no problem since they have a really unfroggy sound to them (reminded me more of a cow). The Wifi however was really bad - we hardly had a connection - mostly only in the mornings and evenings - I don't know if that was because of the storm that caused power outages a few days before our arrival.
If you consider coming to Maui then the Lily Cottage is definitely worth a stay.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Lily Cottage, it was everything we had hoped for and more. The location is so peaceful and secluded, and proved to be an excellent base from which to explore the rest of the island. We can't wait to return, and have been recommending the Lily Cottage to everyone we know.
We absolutely loved staying at the Lily Cottage. The views of the surrounding ponds and ocean beyond are so peaceful and relaxing. The cottage was beautiful. We spend most of our time hanging out in the outdoor kitchen / lanai reading, cooking, listening to music. The cottage is located right at the start to the road to Hana, but close enough to Paia to grab supplies. Emmanuel and Carine are so lovely and very helpful. Missing the cottage already and would absolutely stay again.
My friend Ashley & I stayed at the Lily Cottage for 3 nights. It was amazing! Gorgeous, immersive atmosphere which encourages you to soak up the indoor/outdoor lifestyle. We didn’t want to leave! Everything is exactly as the photos represent it. Carine et Emmanuel were generous and welcoming hosts. Their au pair even let me set up my laptop on their porch since the wifi is intermittent at the cottage. You can tell they have put time and care into the Lily Cottage. All the little details have been thought of. I would highly recommend staying here. Mahalo et a bientot, J’espere!
Parfait et idéalement situé dans le North Shore, Carine et Emmanuel sont des hôtes adorables, je recommande vivement ce cottage.

Originally from France, we moved to Maui Hawaii to become professional windsurfer. We have been living our dream for the last 15 years, traveling the world in search of perfect waves and rich experiences. We fell in love with Costa Rica and built The Beach Bungalows nearly 3 years ago. We are proud to offer a project that has a low impact on the environment. Our friends and partners Christian and Heidi are also the owner of The Beach Club, a restaurant/bar that has the best nights in town. They will welcome you in town and guide you thru your stay if you need help.
