Our 1 bedroom cottage is located in Haiku on the North Shore of Maui. In the heart of our farm, our cottage built on poles overlooks a water lily pond. From the Lanai that surrounds the cottage you see the Pacific ocean that lays a mile down the road.
The bedroom features a queen size bed while a mezzanine offers a sleeping area good for a child. The mediterranean style bathroom and the full kitchen on the covered lanai make this place very comfortable and hard to leave!
Our farm is very quiet and private with very few houses around. The little town of Paia with its numerous restaurants, bars and shops is a 10 to 15 mn drive away while world famous Hookipa surfing beach (email hidden) away. Going the other way on Hana Hwy is the jungle side of Maui with numerous water falls and hikes.
We all share the garden and the barn that offers a office to which guests have access to. They can use the desk inside or the table outside that usually has a better internet connection than the cottage.
Our neighborhood is made of single houses on agricultural land so the population density is low which is why our area is very quiet.
There is no public transport in the area so a car is mandatory but there is a nice walk to take from the cottage all the way down to the bottom of the street, looking at the ocean from the cliff.
We have a 7 nights minimum stay between December 20th and January 5th, otherwise it is 3 nights minimum unless we have a 2 nights opening between 2 reservations.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the lily farm! Although Emmanuel and Carine were not there their care taker, Nico, was very welcoming! The entire cottage was very lovely and quiet. We enjoyed watching stunning sunsets on the lanai! Thank you again for hosting us--we loved staying at a location so close to the Road to Hana and the towns of Haiku and Paia!
The stay at the Water Lily farm Cottage was great. We enjoyed the view from the veranda across the fields up to the ocean. It is closely located to Paia and in a great spot to set-off for the Hana Highway.
The hosts were very friendly, welcoming and shared their knowledge about the island. We truly felt at ease and would recommend this place.
We were so lucky, that we could stay in the cottage. It's very sweet and we loved the design! It has everything you need and the fact, that you cook, eat and sit outside is pretty awesome! Emmanuel and Carine are really nice hosts and very helpful. They gave us good advice on were to go and what to do on the island!
We would definitely stay there again and surely recommend it to friends and family!
Carine & Manu, thank you for having us! Merci beacoup!

The nearby town of Paia, it was in a very comfortable place.
Emmanuel & Carine Bouvet ,a very friendly, it is wonderful natural.
Nice kitchen because it was on, I cook more, and I want to enjoy a leisurely cottage next time.Thank you!
My husband and I spent a few nights at the Water Lily Farm cottage during a recent trip to Maui. The cottage is lovely! Very quiet and peaceful with a fabulous lanai. We could have easily spent HOURS relaxing on the lanai in the late afternoons. The kitchen is essentially outdoors, on the lanai. Actually, the entire cottage is essentially outdoors (covered of course), except for the bedroom. It was one of my favorite experiences to cook outside! Comes with a fully stocked kitchen for cooking meals at home.
Emmanuel and Carine are very friendly and helpful--answering our questions, and engaging us in warm conversation. They were also very respectful of our privacy, so it was a nice balance.
It didn't bother us, but the toads/frogs in the water lily ponds are quite talkative ;) If you're sensitive to that kind of thing, best to bring ear plugs. Also, there isn't a screen on the sliding bedroom doors. We kept the doors closed to reduce mosquito and other bugs from bothering us at night which was fine, as we visited in the winter. Though I can imagine it might be rather hot doing that in the summer. There is a small moveable fan, however, which can help keep the air circulating.
The cottage is also well located for day trips along the road to Hana.
If you're looking for a peaceful place where you can enjoy time outdoors on a great lanai, I'd definitely recommend a stay at the water lily farm! I wish we could have stayed longer.
This is a lovely cottage, serene and quiet. Carine and neighbor were welcoming and answered all our questions. The bedroom is central and has glass doors on either side and a window facing the lanai and pond. Get some bug spray if you are sensitive to mosquitoes as there are no screens on the glass doors and you may want to keep them open for ventilation (no air conditioner, but there was a small fan). The outdoor kitchen is stocked with all the tools you need to cook plus some basics. Our favorite part of the cottage was the lanai. Plenty of sitting area for eating, relaxing and reading, all with a nice view. We'd love to stay here again on a return trip.
Me and little family of my husband and I, and our 1 1/2 year old spend some time at this slice of heaven in Maui.
The cottage is beautiful, the outside living area is gorgeous, and the family is warm and inviting. I felt that we had a lot of privacy, as well as the opportunity to hang out with this sweet family and live in their beautiful creation. There was so much space for my son to toddle around, and I loved being serenaded by the frogs every night.
The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, and the bedroom is cozy with really nice sheets. It has a loft also which would be perfect for an older child. It was so fun to learn about how they grew lilies too. I would definitely recommend this place, and stay here again.
If you're planning a trip to Maui, I highly recommend that you consider staying at the Maui Water Lily Cottage. Right off the Road to Hana, passed the town of Paia, the cottage sits behind Emmanuel and Carine's beautiful home, right on one of their lily ponds. It's away from the tourist population offering sanctuary, while still be close to everything Maui has to offer. The location can't be beat. It's also close to Makawao, Jaws, the Hookipa lookout, the Twin Falls, and many other must-see ares of Maui.
The cottage itself is quaint and extremely comfortable, with many details thought out for your stay. I loved having the kitchen outdoors on the lanai. In the town of Paia, there is a great health food store called Mana. On my first day, I bought some groceries for the week. Each morning, I cooked breakfast (with ample cooking supplies/spices they provided) and sat out on the lanai and listened to the frogs, watched the ducks go for a swim, and took in all of the beauty that surrounded me. I packed a few lunches as I traveled around the island to see the sites. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was nice and tidy! The shower is awesome as well - and I loved having it separate from the restroom, which is on the other side of the bedroom.
Emmanuel & Carine were such great hosts. Emmanuel greeted me upon my arrival and was happy to help with any questions I had about the island, things to do, or where to go. He knew that I was going to Hana the next day and since Carine and her sister were staying in Hana at the time, he connected me with them in case I needed any insight. They are truly wonderful people who have a passion for the land they live on.
My only regret is that I wasn't able to stay at the cottage for my entire stay in Maui. The last night, I stayed in Kihei and found myself wandering back up to Haiku and Paia the very next morning.
Many thanks to Emmanuel and Carine for creating such a beautiful space! Mahalo nui loa!
