The space

"Al Gelsomino" is located along the Via Flaminia and is very well connected to the center. 400 meters from the apartment an urban train (frequency 8/10 minutes) in just 15 minutes will take you directly to the city center, in PIAZZALE FLAMINIO, adjacent PIAZZA DEL POPOLO which is a few meters, Near there is the famous Piazza di Spagna and the most beautiful and famous streets in Rome (via Condotti, via Margutta, via Frattina, via del Corso), so you can go shopping or spend time pleasantly in restaurants and coffee bars that are scattered everywhere. From there you can reach on foot (about 10 minutes) the beautiful Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Navona square and see, in the same way, beautiful buildings of the most important democratic institutions in Italy (Palazzo di Montecitorio, Palazzo del Quirinale , Palazzo Madama). From Piazzale Flaminio in 5 minutes you can reach Piazza San Pietro (Vaticano) and the Vatican Museums (in subway, 2 stops to Ottaviano - San Pietro and Vatican Museums) or you can enter the city's green lung, Villa Borghese, to a stroll on foot, by bicycle (you can hire there) or bus to Pincio (magnificent lookout over the city center) and then visit the Museum of modern Art and the famous Borghese Gallery (one of the most prestigious museums in Rome, which collects the most beautiful works of Bernini, Caravaggio and Raffaello). During the summer, the "Globe Theatre", in the heart of Villa Borghese, you can watch all in a setting of Shakespeare's plays. You can also decide to go down before reaching Piazzale Flaminio, at Piazza Euclide (heart of the famous "Parioli"), a short walk from Villa Glori, and the new Auditorium Parco della Musica, the beautiful concert hall designed by Renzo Piano, in which you can see the many different kinds of musical performances offered daily, stopping in bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.

This home was the perfect resting place for my trip in Rome. My father and I stayed at this clean, comfortable apartment just outside of the city. It is beautiful, peaceful and pleasant. My dad took the sleeper sofa and I had the bed - both were high quality and incredibly comfortable. We parked our car in the provided spot and did all of our sightseeing via foot/public transit. It's a short walk to the tram stop and then a quick 10-15 minute ride into Rome's City Center. This little town has a few great pizzerias/restaurants in case you want to eat outside of the city center. Communications with Gabry were easy and she seems like a truly wonderful person.

Gabry was more than an excellent hostess, she was very accommodating and went out of her way to may our stay pleasant. My husband has a bad back and trouble breathing, and she was readily available to pick us up from the train so that he would not have to trek the hill to the unit. She also found us a bus that we could use. The unit is as pictured on the site, and is very remote from neighbors, with the well-manicured patio, which is perfect for lounging or eating supper. The unit is located in an urban setting outside of Rome, via subway and Metro (approx. 30 mins. ride). Please note there is a semi-steep hill from the train station to the unit, but, there are ways around (bus #37 at the 2nd station past Labaro). Thank you Gabry, Debbie and Bernie

An excellent place and a wonderful, welcoming host. It is close to the train station for easy access to Rome - did not want to even consider driving in the city. Gabry met us at the appointed time and showed us all we needed to make our stay enjoyable. It is a one bedroom place but the couch folds out for 2 more people and it was fine. Also has a clothes washer - nice bonus! Grazie mille, Gabry! Also a book with thoughts and ideas from other guests helped us get around. Be sure to read the train schedule for getting home at night. Sometimes the train station closes early and you need to take the tram and a bus. Longer but it works

Gabry and Luciano's apt is simply elegantly layout and nicely located in a quite residential area. One can get to Flaminio Station by train and access metro from there. We actually preferred a bit distance away from all the tourist areas so there was a quite home to enjoy late at night. Gabry and her daughter were on hand to give us a tour of the apt before we settled in, and they help fixed our luggage handle while at it. It was a very positive stay and highly recommend this beautiful place.

Gabby's house was charming and a nice break from the chaos of Rome proper. Her apartment is about a 20 min train ride from the flamingo station and another 10 min to train ride to the coliseum. That said the apartment was very pretty and realizing.

We would stay in this apartment again and again and again. Everything was absolutely perfect, and Gabry was such an excellent host! Right from the start we could tell that our stay was going to be great. Gabry left everything we needed in the apartment, including some treats and a very helpful guidebook that she made herself. The apartment was incredibly clean, quiet, and cozy. The bed is as comfortable as we could ever wish for. Gabry's communication with us was perfect. She made sure everything was set up and ready for us, and was even nice enough to check in half-way through our stay. We loved this apartment so much that we couldn't stop talking about how excited we were to get back after we took an overnight trip to Pompei. This apartment really felt like home. We absolutely recommend this apartment to anybody who wants a nice, comfortable place to stay that is out of the busy city.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Al Gelsomino. It was a nice, warm comfortable home to relax in after all the long days we spent exploring the city. Everything was perfect. We loved that Gabry included maps and suggested places to visit in Labaro. The only thing I may suggest to people who are staying here, you may want to budget for a taxi when you first arrive. It's up a steep hill for about 1/2 a mile, and we had an exhausting time carrying our luggage. But then again, we're not used to the enormous hills & we were severely jet-lagged. Overall, we definitely recommend staying here! We loved our experience!
