About this listing
Brooks Hacienda is located on the doorstep of Manuel Antonio National Park, one of Costa Rica's most prized national parks and the only park that has beach access. It is common to be visited by 3 types of monkeys daily. That is your view. You can listen to the waves pounding the beach. The ocean is about a 10 minute drive to one of the most pristine beaches in the world.
There are many covered decks overlook the swimming pool which is a main feature of this property. From this area one can enjoy the reflection in the skies of the beautiful Costa Rican sunsets and view wildlife in the trees of the tropical rain forest.
The top part of the house is your space.(the owners live below in a private suite from Nov to April) The home was built in Nov 2008, so everything is still like new. The 2 bedrooms are a very good size and each one has its own private full bath. Each bedroom has a queen bed and one bedroom has a single bed by the window... which is full size single bed with 6 ' high density foam... very comfortable.
The kitchen is state of the art and equipped for you to prepare dinner using the local fresh produce and meats. You can enjoy your meal in the elegant dining area inside or on the deck outside.
Only 5 guests can be accommodated at Brooks Hacienda.
No smoking inside the house. Smoking designated areas only.
No noise after 11 PM.
View from the deep end of the pool looking at the house. Owners lower suite below.. occupied Nov to April.
Brooks Hacienda was so great. Absolutely perfect for a family with children. The pool was a great way for the kids to end their day. The house had everything we needed. There is a little grocery store with the best bacon. We cooked breakfast every morning in the house. Terry was an amazing house manager and was the best part of our stay. So helpful, engaging and makes the best baklava we have ever had. Tours were well organized and they came right to our house to pick us up. We will absolutely recommend to everyone we know interested in staying in Manual Antonio.
We had an amazing experience at Brooks Hacienda. The facilities are accurate as described by the owners but the pictures don't do it justice- it is even more beautiful in person! John, the property manager who lives next door was very welcoming and informative. He showed us the facilities and recommended local beaches and restaurants and made his cell phone available in case we had any questions. The Hacienda is a beautiful paradise with exceptional amenities which include a beautiful granite kitchen, an immaculate free form pool and spacious rooms. Having laundry facilities on site was a huge plus. The residence is close to Manuel Antonio Park and overlooks the rain forest which brings in many types of animals. The wildlife was spectacular! Our neighbors were a troop of howler monkeys that resided in the trees closest to our balcony! (They also served as our alarm clock). A troop of raucous squirrel monkeys visited us on our last afternoon as we floated in the pool and a two toed sloth was regularly sited in the surrounding trees as well. Everyday, we spotted new species of birds including toucans, falcons, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, motmots, parrots and the list goes on! Kate, the owner made available an extensive list of local recommendations including restaurants several of which we tried and loved. We definitely recommend Brooks Hacienda and hope to stay here again in the future!
Brooks Hacienda was a wonderful place for my husband and I to stay on our honeymoon. We arrived in the daylight which we highly recommend because it would be hard to get to the house without the street signs in Costa Rica. We would definitely recommend getting a car however the house is close to restaurants along the main road in Manuel Antonio. The beach is super close but you still need a car to drive there. The wildlife at the house is unbelievable, you can see the monkeys and toucans all around the property. The house is stocked with all of the necessities that you would need for cooking. We hired a private chef her name is Desiree and she was fabulous, Kate recommended her. There were towels supplied for you however bring shampoo and conditioner because it is not provided for you like a hotel.
Beautiful place to stay with a very clean pool. We were very busy and
used the pool only twice, each time we saw several Toucans in the nearby trees. The Howler Monkeys can wake you up sometimes at night. Manager Jon was very friendly and helpful.
Perfect house in a beautiful location! You can have the best of both worlds here - pool time & beach time. The house is great for just relaxing. On the patio, by the pool, lounging around the kitchen. We brought our 11 year old here, and he never once got "bored" so it's kid certified :)
This place is AMAZING! It was beyond our expectations. We felt very welcome! Everything is in immaculate condition and every detail thought of. The pool is fabulous and we were awakened by Howler monkeys. I highly recommend Brook's Hacienda.
About the Host, Kate
My husband, Randy and I are organic pear farmers in the Okanagan Valley of British Colmubia. We spend the winters in Costa Rica. We chose Costa Rica as our winter home for many reasons. It is a beautiful country with a wonderful climate, beautiful vegetation, wild animals, friendly people and awesome fresh fruits and veggies. The adventurers offered in our area of Manuel Antonio suit all different types of travellers needs. We have been in the Vacation Rental business in Canada since 1987, but with a very short rental summer season, we decided to move it to Costa Rica. We feel we have made a excellent choice and have the best of both worlds. We would love you to come and join us for a week, or 2 or 3.
