Located in the Buckman neighborhood, you are right in the heart of all things Portlandia. Some of the local favorites include The Screen Door, Larylhurst Theatre and Pub, Matador, Eastburn for restaurants. Whole Foods is 8 blocks away, so is NE/SE 28th Ave where you'll have over a dozen eating drinking options.
Likewise, the common areas in the back will be shared with the myriad of travelers, professionals, outdoor enthusiasts, iconoclasts from the four corners of the planet,
Please know that we love animals, a lot. We don’t allow pets on the property however. Even if yours is wonderful, quiet, adorable and irresistible without knowing it they attract critters we really don’t want. So we just have to say a regrettable but firm no. Please don’t try to appeal this. It breaks my heart to say no.
Your apartment is one of four legal apartments in a secure fourplex. You enter the building through a coded electronic security system. Your private apartment - bedroom, kitchen, full bath, living room - is your private space, it's not shared with anyone except you and your guests.
The outdoor amenities are shared with our exclusive guests only. We maintain these facilities year round. Facilities includes the outdoor hot tub, outdoor hot water shower, outdoor fire pit dining area. We also have refrigeration and an outdoor guest BBQ available year round.
Interaction with Guests
We enjoy our social guests and respect those seeking solitude as well. I've become close friends with some guests, others I've not even met! Come say hi, we love meeting new people. We know this town well and want to hear about your adventures and offer any assistance we can to make your trip more rewarding and fun.
The Buckman neighborhood, as you see if you (website hidden) it, offers so many places to explore - with new venues opening all the time.
Portland Metro is renown for it's public transportation. There's a bus station two blocks away that can get you downtown (1 mile away) every fifteen minutes or so. You don't need a car here, however, if you have one we have ample free street parking in front of the property.
Quiet time at 10pm on weekdays, 11pm on weekends.
No smoking anything inside.
No pets, no exceptions.
Great place to stay for checking out SE Portland. It's a really pretty area and close to everything. I especially enjoyed the outdoor spa after a long day trekking around. Rob helped me out with the spa cover after my friends left, as it's a 2 person job. The apartment is nice and quiet and there was a nice bottle there on arrival!
Great apartment. Convenient to everything. Comfy beds. Full kitchen. Some great spots withing walking distance. I didn't rent a car and used the Curb app to use taxis to get around the city. Cabs showed up every time in under 5 minutes. Nice, friendly, and accommodating hosts. Great value.
We had a fantastic stay at Rob's suite in Portland. We found the apartment very clean and comfortable. The location was good as we walked to several nearby restaurant/cafes. We had a car and parking was no issue. The car was useful for trips into downtown etc. The outside area was great, and we really enjoyed the spa under light November rain. Portland is a great city and well worth a visit. Rob was a great host, and even helped us out with receiving some packages. Would definitely recommend.
Great location. Walking distance to several restaurants. Easy access to downtown. Parking was easy.
A welcoming bottle of wine.! Nice touch.
Very light on the inside.
Nice little private patio in front and a public patio (not used due to the weather) in back.
The only thing that was slightly awkward was the only bathroom is connected to one of the bedrooms and the door is glass, not solid so there was a little bit of noise/light intrusion.
But that was trivial....we would definitely stay there again.
I absolutely loved staying here. The space is fantastic and Rob was such a friendly host. I found myself wishing I could live there. This was my first airbnb experience and I am totally sold! I can't wait to come back.
Incredibly convenient and easy Airbnb experience. The space is well appointed and comfortable, and within a short walk of a bunch of great Portland spots. Highly recommended.
Rob was a great host! Left us a note and a bottle of wine to welcome us. Check in procedure was easy and the apartment was as described. The kitchen and bathroom was fully stocked making it easy for us. Its at a great location, being only a 20 min walk away from the convention centre, and easy access to bus and street car routes! Will definitely recommend to friends and stay on my next trip to Portland.

I've recently retired my practice of many years as a psychotherapist and am opening this new chapter 1) running my 1899 Victorian Farmhouse Fourplex as a guesthouse for travelers and visitors and 2) exploring the intercoastal waters of Puget Sound, Southern BC and Vancouver Island via sailboat. I've sailed the last two summers into what I call the Tropical Alpine waters of Desolation Sound. I will be going again this summer as well.
I love jazz (I bang out a decent amateur clarinet), water, people, reading, comedy, salmon, red wine and Amy Goodman and the fine (email hidden).
I enjoy meeting thoughtful, mindful, playful, friendly people from all over.
As a host I'm fun, casual, curious about everything, capable as a landlord. I've lived in this neighborhood over 20 years and can help you get your bearings.
When I travel I prefer bouncing aimlessly towards various convergence points with friends usually to sail or ski.
