  • Angus and Lisa were the best hosts you can imagine. The stay in their very nice housebarge was very nice and convenient. They gave us a lot of tips for the neighbourhood. Angus und Lisa were always ready to drive us in their car to some places and we enjoyed very much the nice conversations about all kinds of stuff. All in all, we would recommend Angus und Lisa as hosts in every respect.

  • The house barge was incredible and Angus was extremely helpful and kind. We'll definitely be back again.

  • Lisa and Angus were great! The boat was much more spacious than expected, and warm even during cold days. Very clean, comfortable, and hospitable environment. For those wondering, the boat can sleep two separately and comfortably - great for a girls' stay in Brooklyn and very close to the subway. Definitely worth the experience if you have never stayed on a boat before. We look forward to staying again on a future trip!

  • It was everything I had hoped for. The pull and tug of the lines on the dock, the gentle rocking and the ambience of that crazy group of people who choose to live aboard boats. I used to be one of them and there's something in my bones that keeps calling me back to being on the water again. Living on a boat is a far cry from a five star hotel, it's independent and fierce, it's personal and in-touch with the environment. Lisa's place isn't a sterile, take-your-shoes-off-outside kind of place, it's down-home, practical and it's a shared space.

On the boat, I met a friend when I set eyes on Lisa, she epitomises her boat, warm thoughtful and cozy in the Polar Vortex that broke all of the records.

When we checked in, there were pizza slices waiting to fill us up. There were coffees, teas, hot chocolate and a big bowl of candy. There were leaflets and brochures and hints of where to find the best foods and things to do. Lisa made herself available so many times to give us a lift to and from the Sheepshead Bay station, waiting patiently as we were shown the best Russian foods in the Cherry Hill Market.

When we had to leave after 9 days, I left behind a friend and some wonderful memories of waiting out the biggest freeze in over a hundred years. With the movie theatre and Jordan's Lobster House's clam chowder only a 2 minute walk away in a fierce blizzard, we were set. We made memories.

Don't hesitate, Lisa's boat is a treat. Lisa is a treat. I'd be there again in a skinny minute if I could.

  • The house boat was idyllic! Lisa was an amazing hostess. We ordered some wonderful food for dinner and brunch and fed leftover crumbs to swans that glided by. It was warm and toasty and cozy inside and gorgeous outside. We will be back for sure!!!

  • parfait !

  • A very good impression. Living on a boat is very original. This is for real travelers. Lisa and Angus did a lot that you lived in comfort and coziness. Here you will be surrounded by their care. Do not forget the captain's cap!

  • Lisa and Angus are phenomenal!! Their house boat is the perfect location for quiet nights. They offered a car service to the local train and stayed in touch through out the day! We loved chatting with Angus and Lisa to get more insight on local eateries, shops and things to do. The house boat was perfect to stay in and retreat to every night after exploring. Our trip to New York was made perfect because it included being hosted by Lisa and Angus.

  • Staying on Lisa and Angus' boat was a fantastic experience! Perfect and quiet. I certainly didn't feel like I was in the city. Lisa and Angus are SO nice and caring! Always willing to give a ride to the train station or pick up if needed. I would recommend staying here and I would stay here again! They are truly wonderful hosts!!
