About This Listing
My warm and sunny, relaxed-vibed apt is in the heart of SoHo, right under the ‘red’ dot on the map of Hong Kong! My apt oozes chic, urban, hip and all is contained in my spacious studio apartment on lower Elgin st, and in Hong Kong's most sought after location. You will enjoy a long expanse of sunny windows to view the street life below.
I don't live there, so it's all yours, 100% with lots of space and privacy for relaxing after absorbing Hong Kong's lifestyle. I'm not far away though if you need advice on where to eat, shop, browse, climb, swim, sail, surf, or party.
Step downstairs to absorb the undeniably and very friendly vibe below on the cobblestoned street of lower Elgin. SoHo is also the oldest neighbourhood in Hong Kong. What awaits you downstairs is an array of delicious restaurants, galleries, cafes, bars, eclectic boutiques, wet markets, all standing the test of time in this pulsating metropolis we call home. Don’t forget your camera!
You will easily see why SoHo is undeniably Hong Kong’s most charming, colourful, cosmopolitan and pulsating neighborhoods.
My apt is incredibly, perfectly situated to everything you will need for your stay here! Just a few minutes walk down to Central MTR and Sheung Wan MTR and is just one minutes walk to the worlds longest escalator. It is also a 4minute walk to central, the IFC, the HK Airport Express and all ferry piers which depart to the outlying islands. It is just a 10minute walk to the Macau Ferry Terminal and the Western Market.
My apartment has possibly one of Hong Kong’s most spacious bathrooms with a lovely slate tiled floor, beaming with natural light, as is the main open studio-type area. I have heating and air-con, a dehumidifier, very fast WIFI, a quaint kitchen equipped with cooking utensils, a nice comfortable bed with reading light, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, a hugely comfortable couch, a massive white desk, tons of art-filled walls, black out blinds for weary long-haul travellers, and probably the largest storage/wardrobe space you could ever want to fill.
My apt ideally suits an individual or a couple who want to be close to step into the buzz of Hong Kong! The long, green sofa is a treat to snooze on, or sleep on if you have an extra friend/child with you. I also have a fold out bed if you need.
I hope to meet and greet you soon to my charming abode. Contact me for any Q’s.
Please make yourself at home. I am pretty easy going. I just ask you to PLEASE turn off the aircon or heater when you go out.
We enjoyed our stay in Louise's apartment. It is in a handy location in the mid levels of Central close to the public escalators.
Heaps of restaurants, bars and entertainment around.
The flat is clean , spacious and easy yo maintain.
Some flights of steps to ascend but not too bad.
Has air conditioning and a dehumidifier which is handy with Hongkong's humidity.
Louise was very good to communicate with a couple of questions that we had. Good location for the price.
Louise’s apartment is as described and its Soho location is great
•Loved how bright and light the place was during the day with windows that would open up to look out onto the streets.
•The bed is comfortable
•Bathroom is clean and has lots of shelf space. Shower pressure was fabulous
•Place is very clean with good linens
•If you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you. The apartment is on Elgin Street and there are many bars in the tiny little street below. Even with the windows closed you can still hear the noise. The bars close up about 3am.
•The main window of the apartment does not have blinds or curtains that cover it entirely therefore the flashing lights of the local massage parlours illuminate the room until 4am when they are turned off.
Although we never met Louise dealing with her via email etc worked perfectly.
The apartment was in a fantastic location, with lots of great bars and restaurants close by. The apartment was as described and had everything we needed (including wifi, air con, a fridge and a hairdryer).
Louise was a great host, and although she was not around, she was quick in replying and gave helpful directions.
Louise provided quick excellent communication before and during my stay, which made planning easy. If you've never been to Hong Kong, the flat may be difficult to find -- even with her great directions. So, a taxi may be worthwhile.
However, once you find your bearings, you'll find the location to be very convenient for nightlife and food, with easy access to public transportation. Many choices are even right on your street. (The is also convenient to 7-11s, which makes it easy to get small snacks at any time).
The flat is clean and convenient with most basic necessities. Even with bars on the street, I didn't find noise to be a problem. Everything was in working order (know that you may have to be judicious with hot water) and I didn't have any problems while I was there.
I enjoyed my visit and would not mind staying here in the future!
Louise's apartment was perfect for our 10 day stay in Hong Kong! Hot shower, comfortable bed, good wifi, both air con and space heater if needed. The apartment has an open feel, lots of light, and so tastefully decorated, including with (what I believe) are Louise's own paintings. (very nice!) A big plus is all the storage so you can totally unpack if you want and really enjoy apartment living and quit living out of your (website hidden) supplies/utensils are sparse, but adequate for basics (Hot water kettle, toaster oven, 1 burner stove) The apartment is on the busy (pedestrian-only) Elgin street in SoHo, so it does get loud (esp weekend nights) but there is no pulsating overly-annoying bar music, rather people milling around and having a good time. The windows are decently sound proof when you want to shut everything out. We enjoyed the energy and vibe. We never met Louise in person, but her messages were warm, friendly, helpful, perfectly detailed when needed. We found this a great place to relax after trudging around the busy streets of HK. Fond memories. We recommend highly!

About the Host, Louise
I am an accessories designer, illustrator and painter. I design innovative, unique, and highly sought after handbags and have had my business for 12 years now. It comes with tons of freedom. I also teach swimming, and to those with special needs, and triathletes. I lead a hectic life but wouldn't have it any other way. I lived in London for five years and in Asia; Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong, for nearly 20 years now. It's under my skin now, and I'm deeply embedded in Asian culture and lifestyle. I have traveled extensively to over 60 countries globally also. It's a fairly expensive addiction.
