  • We loved our stay at Clayton's place. It was a short and scenic drive to all sights on the island. Minutes away from multiple grocery stores, restaurants, Wailua River, and a couple beaches. We really liked the updated kitchen and bathroom and the beach chairs and cooler were an awesome plus. He also had boogie boards, a surf board and bikes to use! The truck was very convenient for getting around and everything we needed!

  • Clayton's bnb was perfect for beach access and such a prime location from the airport. We were happy we had the option of a truck but wish we would have known it was a manual. Overall loved the updated home, it was just perfect. Bikes were great too, we had so much fun! Clayton was so nice and accommodating which was great, we love our stay!

  • Nicely remodeled little studio in a "suburban" type area. The bathroom and kitchen are great, the bed comfortable, and there is a big closet. Not much room to relax inside but you can always sit in the chairs outside if you want. Nice to have beach gear and access to city type bikes. I found the location pretty central to explore the island. Our host was efficient and opened to the few little suggestions we had. Just note if you rent the pickup that there is no covered bed (and no room inside) so it might happen that your luggage gets wet coming in from the airport. We decided to laugh about it! I would recommend this place.

  • We had a great time at Clayton's place. We would not hesitate to recommonend it.
+ Well located if you want to explore the whole Island of Kauai. Driving on Kauai takes longer than the size of the island suggests.
+ Nice view from the front garden onto Sleeping Giant (mountain).
+ Long and perfect sand beach within 5min driving distance.
+ Great food at nearby Korean BBQ.
    + Fun ride.
o No AC but wasn't necessary for us (in february)
    - Car wasn't where we expected it to be. Previous guests didn't leave it at the usual place, and we needed to ask again (not that cheap with a european mobile phone...).

  • Clayton was a great host who greeted us upon our arrival and was willing to help us with suggestions about the island and was very accommodating for our late check out. We chose to use his truck which worked out great for us. It was ready at the airport when we landed. The room is just as it is described. It was perfect for us because we don't need much and it was a nice place to stay. The east side of Kauai doesn't have as many tourists as other busy parts so that was nice as well. All other parts of the island are very easily reachable by car.

The snorkel equipment, boogie boards, beach chairs and towels were a nice plus. There is even a small grill outside! There is a full newly renovated kitchen with plates and utensils. There isn't really a yard to lounge in or utilize for grilling but we made it work outside the apartment.

Oh yeah, bikes too! There were two beach cruisers with a lock. Its a couple miles to the town area but is a very easy ride.

Clayton's place is perfect for our trip because we just wanted to be out and explore the island. The bed is comfortable and was a queen! Would definitely stay again!

  • I had a great time at Clayton's. The studio was great. Clean, more than ample room, great bed and perfect location at the base of sleeping giant to both west and east sides of the island. The added bonus of the availability of the truck was great. Clayton made every effort to accommodate my early arrival and late departure with getting the truck to me and handing it off to his next guests. He is an easy going guy and easy to get a hold of during your stay if you have any questions or need recommendations. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip. Mahalo Clayton for a enjoyable and hassle free visit.

  • I had a great time! Cozy and clean appartment with everything you need, great location, cool car. Clayton is a really cool guy, and he gave great suggestions for hiking and stuff to to. I would always come back!

  • This is the best deal in Kauai! We keep coming back to stay here because Clayton is a great guy who provides a stellar experience. The place is located in a beautiful spot at the base of the sleeping giant and is in a perfect location close to town. Coordinating with Clayton is always easy and stress free, exactly what you want in the islands. Plus, he always has the best tip on what surf spot is happening. :-) Thanks again for another amazing trip, we'll be back for sure!

  • Clayton's place is great, and the truck was just awesome to have. Definitely recommend.

Kapaa is also a lovely little town. Being December we probably got a bit more rain than normal, but it typically dumped down in the wee hours of the morning. It's also pretty central so that we could decide day by day whether we wanted to head North or check out the West. It's just a few minutes from the base of the Sleeping Giant trail, which made for a really nice morning hike. Providing it doesn't rain too much beforehand, as some parts do get pretty muddy.
